....and yet again, everytime i think i've already seen everything, emma releases a new recommendations video to prove me wrong... these are always like a light on the horizon... especially right now.. thank you very much...
In the found footage section, nobody ever mentions 3 excellent ff films. "Ghoul" 2015: the ghost of notorious russian serial killer chikatillo possesses the bodies of various victims during a seance. "Savageland" 2017: movie is revealed through a series of photographs on how an entire village was torn to shreds in just one night. "The blackwater vampire" 2013: the blair witch project, only with a vampire that produces more vampires, and we get to see the creature. These films are never mentioned and are excellent found footage films. Hope y'all enjoy. From Cape Canaveral, Fla. Peace out
Just wanted to put in my two cents when it comes to movies like Saw and Would You Rather?. There's a bit of a gem called Are You Scared? It's not as good as Saw, but it does have that feeling :) Also, just a tidbit about Trollhunter - I'm Norwegian and a funny thing about that movie is that several of the actors in it are actually well known Norwegian comedians :)
I used to live in Poland and was surprised by how good a lot of their film is!! Definitely recommend watching some of the other films not mentioned here - such as Ida, The Debt, Monument. In 2018, a really great film on the catholic church came out, Clergy.
I have watched hundreds of these reviews from various sources on UA-cam on this one you mentioned the movie mother from 1980. Thank you so much this is a movie I saw at the theater when I was 12 years old and it freaked me out especially seeing when one lady is lowering the other lady into a sleeping bag out of a window. I love this movie and have never seen anyone mention it before thank you.
Afflicted was absolutely incredible! I’ve seen hundreds of found footage movies and it’s in my top five. It’s also one of those movies that you’ll find yourself going back and watching it over and over again wether wanting to show friends/family or on a boring night alone. 🎥🖤 Also I completely agree you honestly never hear people talking about this movie even when you look up top 20 or higher found footage movies which is absolutely mind blowing to me because it’s better than ones in top 10 lists. I also think it’s great you didn’t give anything away about this movie but I will say it has you on the edge of your seat almost the whole movie. Unlike many found footage movies the craziness starts at 14 and 1/2 mins in and get more and more crazy! If you haven’t seen it and love found footage definitely give it a watch…you won’t regret it!
This video is very informative. Glad UA-cam recommended you. I’d love to see top horror lists from a defined bracket like 2000 - 2005, 2006 - 2010 kinda like that. VOD recommendations are sadly overlooked many times. It’s good you support them as b grades were bread and butter for fans in the 70s and 80s. Well done.

You're right about Afflicted Emma, it's such an underrated found footage horror movie. I simply love The Loved Ones. I haven't seen a female villain like Lola in a horror movie since Misery.

You're a genius! Can't really say how much time I spent looking for horror recs, your channel has been very helpful. Still, thank you for sharing your horror knowledge!
I loved Demon... one of those films where you're not quite sure where it's going or if it's even quite a horror. But I loved the atmosphere and acting was superb. You should check out one on Netflix called Super Dark Times if you haven't already. It didn't make a huge splash but most indies don't. Very chilling. It's one of the best 90's throwback films I've seen. Kind of a pre-Columbine thriller/ dark coming of age. It's beautifully filmed with some great young talent. Sort of a visual equivalent to a Brand New song.
Just rewatched The Invitation yesterday and noticed things I didn't on the first watch, adding even more layers to this already aweaome film. Great list as always!

Surprised on the people in horror movies before they were famous...you picked ones that might be a little more 'relevant' today...but I didn't see either of those two as major stars haha Jason Alexander and Holly Hunter in The Burning, Lawrence Fishburn in Nightmare on Elm Street 3, Kevin Bacon in Friday the 13th, Johnny Depp in Nightmare on Elm Street are some off the top of my head... Found footage movies I'd always recommend REC, but if that's even too mainstream, I just watched Antrum...it's all right. Not the best, but has some evil to it. JeruZalem was ok. I liked Afflicted. I don't remember if it's any good, but Always Watching was one that kinda had me at times. Unfriended wasn't awful...uh...Paranormal is the go to really. That whole series has great atmosphere and plot lines.

I love the Company of Wolves! Love Angela Carter - the books worth a read for everything they couldn't put in the film. Does anyone know of a good Bluebeard film? That would lend itself well to a horror.
Love The Loved Ones while I've noticed some ppl hating Gretel&Hansel??? Oh well...Female villian,Play Misty For Me. I’d forgotten The Loved Ones. Sooooo good!
Love The Loved Ones while I've noticed some ppl hating Gretel&Hansel??? Oh well...Female villian,Play Misty For Me.
Hope U&Dean well SA,not for nothing but being spring time cpl non-horror favorites always come to mind too; Always(1989) &Hector and the Search for Happiness(2014) I highly recommend. Be well.
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Final Prayer is another really great found footage horror movie. That ending, my god that fucking ending.
I really liked 1BR even though it wasn't that well explained...thanks for doing these lists!
Can you reccomend movies like vampires kiss or any anthologies like tales from the crypt
Thank you Emma for all the recommendations. Oh man, Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes. I vaguely remember seeing that decades ago and possibly in an alcoholic haze.🍅😳
Thanks again Emma check out Eli Roth's Clown.
Another fairy tale horror:
Snow White: A Tale of Terror is exactly what you think it is and stars Sigourney Weaver as the evil queen. I think it's currently on Starz in the US.
Also Paul Rudd famous actor in Halloween remake 👍
Only saw the thumbnail and the "featured" comment. Yes, Afflicted and Dr. Sleep are great.
Featured?
@@spookyastronauts Not featured, as such, but the new comments layout (on mobile anyway) where you just see one comment and have to click on it to see the rest or reply.
And with everything in lockdown shut at the moment we have nothing but time with VOD! 😁
watched hansel and gretel Korean. had good symbolism but rather long and fails to generate either scare or suspense. The end was thought provoking.
Female villain: The Loved ones so creepy.
It's finger-lickin' good.
High Tension = Best Female Villain!!! Hands down
Yes! Love that movie

Thanks Shaun!
Have you seen Willow Creek? I'd love to hear your thoughts. I was really surprised at how much I liked it since I don't believe in/care about Bigfoot. It was a really suspenseful found footage in my opinion.
Yeah! I liked it! I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea though
Enter the Marrow was AWESOME
