For a dragon investment, you have to sell your house move in a caravan have a business with 2 million in sales and accept £25000 for 45% of the company. And thats just for Jenny Campbell to say 'im out'.
The door jammer didn't work because the mockup door wobbled from side to side so it tipped over. In actual application, the door is fixed on a solid wall so the frame wouldn't shift from side to side. Its a shame the reason went unnoticed and the whole tone was set afterwards.

Can someone explain the dilution thing they were talking about in the first segment ? If the investor gets 5% of the business why would they lose that if more capital is raised later on ?
New investor gets his equity from all of the shareholders. So if business has 2 shareholders 50/50 and I come and buy 10 % of equity, they will loose 5 % each. Hope this helped.

That’s not how a valuation works. At the time of investment you are paying to get in. That money you’re paying doesn’t count toward the value of the company. For the sake of Dragon’s Den, the valuation is very simple, especially here. 600£ for 50%. 50% is half of 100%, so to get the valuation you multiply the investment ask by two: 600k * 2 = 1.2 million.
