Books that I know I will re-read, jewelry I hunted for years, original art made by friends, pictures drawn by children, a long, black velvet cape with a red satin lined hood, ect. I have too many keepers! 😂
The majority of Watches I buy I don’t sell apart from a couple here and there which are usually cheap Watches. I usually take a lot of time lusting after a Watch before I buy it so as I say the majority of my Watches are ‘Keepers’. I guess the only time I would sell is like you say, in hard times if I needed the money or if there was another Watch that I desired so much and there was no other way to raise the funds. As I said though, I think a ‘Keeper’ for me is a Watch that I have spent a lot of time lusting over OR one that has been left to me (I have inherited). A Watch that was given to you by a friend or relative should be a ‘Keeper’ for life. Something like your Submariner that was gifted to you by your good friend. That should definitely be a ‘Keeper’. Good luck in your new job my friend. I hope that it goes well for you and that you can raise some money to buy a ‘Keeper’ Watch to celebrate the occasion! ✊
