I finally pulled the trigger on a double pack of the Artifact shelves. They ARE pricey, but man are they well made! Not only are they precise, but they use cabinet grade plywood (which ain't cheap). I want to get one more double pack. Mine are planned for just race cars, and race inspired/tribute cars. Mini GT, Tarmac Works, Sparky, BMC, Hot Wheels and Matchbox are all currently represented.
Thanks for sharing Joe! Here's to hoping the bottom falls out on the scalper trade in '25!

Seasons Greetings. I think touring implies more luxury and better for long distance driving. I realy dig your display shelves 😎.

Touring means it has a rear seat option which would classify it in the 2+2 category, too.
Keeping all your cars carded reminds me of the kid, who had the only real basketball, in the neighborhood and you couldn't play unless he let you.

    Carded vs Freedom collecting
I think some folk just need to kvetch about something. This hobby needs no dogma nor orthodoxy. It's enough to enjoy it as you will.

I think people who keep toys in their packaging and never open them are damn fools (no hate, some of my best friends are damn fools in some crucial regards, and I dare say I am one too for different reasons). As I see it, if you collect toys, there's a high to certain chance you had those toys as a child, and arguably the biggest part of the pleasure of collecting toys is the memory of playing with them, the feel of them in your hand, how they fit together. How many children kept their toys unopened to preserve their value? Zero. It seems to me that collectors of unopened toys have lost sight of the emotion and passion that should drive collecting. I can see an argument for keeping the packaging after you open them, box art is usually cool, but it's no more than a sideshow compared to the actual toy - and unopened toys are not yet toys, they are still commodities, and one does not _collect_ commodities, you trade them. There's no shame in that, of course, but you should call it what it is. From whatever height your horse is.
911 GT3 Touring package I think is a mix of lightweight components, a rear seat and chassis tuning - stuff to improve long-distance drives, I suppose.
That shelving system is really nice. One of the Matchbox E30s snuck into the HW BMW section (the white one with the German flag diagonal stripes)! I just got shelves myself, so I can finally have stuff out on display somewhere other than my desk, but the organising is a killer... if I put these _here_ it'll waste space, but if I put them _there_ then it's with the others, but there's not enough space, so I could split them between these spots, but then the organisation makes no sense, why would I have Lamborghinis next to Subarus?...it never ends. I feel a great temptation to just do it randomly, or by some obscure metric like order of purchase or something.
