Slowly he begins to realize his unhealthy habit and attempts to rid himself of midoriya once again (the parasite part). However through midoriya he tells himself that if he were to let midoriya go he would have to relive the lost(you never cared for me) . So once he stops seeing midoriya and having thoughts of him he feels lonely and empty. So he goes back to his habits. And instead of getting rid of him he learns to cope properly with his lost.
