- BVCOE Delhi students bring you a talk on the the future and career in Instrumentation and Control Engineering. In instrumentation, we can have various domains like Industrial Automation. Instrumentation Engineering is the engineering specialization that focuses on the principle and operation of measuring and controlling variables like pressure, temperature that are used in design and configuration of automated systems. I&C also covers areas such as electrical and pneumatic quantities and the appropriate controlling action of the variable being measured.

Just subscribed. I am a grade 12 student. A great video showing actual technical aspects of a field. Indian coaching institutes brainwash students by linking colleges to "packages", to form a rat race, rather than making them familiar with what we would like as a career option for our future. Engineering is all about passion and the interest. If there is anything close to magic on this planet, it has to be engineering.

Disadvantages
1) Very less opportunity /scope
2) People from Electronics background are doing automation job. So, again huge competition.
3) very hard life if you are in construction or commissioning.
I would rather suggest not to take Instrumentation discipline in pvt college at all. If already taken, then switch to software. I don't want to hurt anyone but reality is different from what has been shown in this video.
I am sharing it with my 15 yrs experience in Instrumentation & Controls.

I agree with few point. To be honest too, choose instrumentation when you are sure about this field. But if someone is curious and is exploring this field he/she can be a successful engineer.

@@utkarshtripathi8661 since you'll have placements next year, start preparing for those. Syllabus for Aptitude tests will be common for all companies, be it software or hardware. After that, if you are inclined towards Instrumentation then revise your core subjects and apply for core companies. Core companies ask basics about Instrumentation and Electronics. If you want to switch to IT, then get your hands on at least one programming language and practice indefinitely on online code compilers. Also, do not forget to prepare for HR rounds as well. A best programmer or best Industrial Automation engineer is incomplete unless and until he complete his or her knowledge about mechanical and core electrical.
Cause after all your project end up on these three topic only Mechanical, Electrical and data transfer or data communication that's means moving part , power and media for data transfer or communicate for rest things any body assist you no need Engineer like office a employee who have some basic idea or electrician or technician
And at last all degree at one side and your experience is another side
Experience counts the peace of minds and Make it your life success to Y axis

@@me.80 nice to hear that u r in instrumentation, see the placement opportunity can vary irrespective of college, if u r from tier 1/2 college then u can easily get placment ( bit of skills needed) but if u r in tier 3/4 college u have to prepare a lot for placement, our branch is core type of branch so u will get offer from various core companies it could be steel factory, cement factory, gas refineries, petroleum etc.. The main recruiters are emerson, jsw, tata steel n other core co.

Maine instruments technician ka non formal course kiya tha but my bad luck mujhe kaam nhi mila aur field exp nahi hone ke wajah se job nhi mila. Now i am working as a BMS technician.
No issues, if you show your value as a BMS technician then there is definitely growth.
Find one skill and do deliberate practice.

I am in third year of instrumentation and control now. This is my summer break what things should I learn so that it will be useful for me in internships and placements. And how can we get internships ? Since we are stuck at our homes we don't have practical knowledge. Are there online sources ? Should we learn any software aur tech thing like ML AI?
