Let's be honest Pakistan was the better side on that given day. Moreover the reason India lost that game due to overconfidence and doing everything except playing cricket (remember BLM movement stand just before the game).
The same thing is happening with Pakistan since then as their interest is everywhere and everything except for playing cricket. They have become so obsessed with fame, PR, world class tag that they forget about that thing which made them world class which is playing cricket. They forget about the hardships, sacrifice, pain they did when they first get into the national team of Pakistan. They literally disdained that hunger within them which made them a household name in Pakistan. Instead they let their PR agencies to negotiate things for them.
Mind you game of cricket is a very good leveler and 'ye logo ko arsh se farsh par or farsh se arsh tak le jata hai'. Yahi haal abhi Pakistan me ho raha hai.
