At Spray Falls 0:49 you can see near shore in shallow water remains of the sidewheeler "Superior" that wrecked there in 1858 with considerable loss of life and great hardship for the pioneer townsites of Ontonagon, Bayfield, and Superior City as she was carrying winter supplies for those places. R.I.P.
I took a pontoon boat all along the pictured rocks (thats the best way to see it) you just have to watch the rocks below you don't want to destroy your prop 20 miles out in the lake...Munising is my favorite town to vist, its AWESOME!
This actually reminds me of southern Thailand. The emerald -turquoise water against the rock wall with cave cutouts. I want to live in Michigan again, but upper peninsula! Leaving Florida for good, possibly. God willing.

It doesn't take that long if you leave on a Wed. or Thurs. around 10am (after morning traffic and before rush hour) and you do 5 mph over (ends up aprox 5 hrs. and 5 min.), or leave around 7pm after rush hour and get there around midnight. There's also 5am start and try to be north of Gaylord by 8am (worst option).
Totally agree with replies! Lovely country, beautiful water and beaches, great vistas, love the smell too. Sometimes you can even see the aurora borealis.😃

Yes, just know that Lake Superior can be very dangerous and look up the laws on boating it because there are some special regulations you have to follow concerning equipment you need on-board.
