UPDATE: I followed exactly everything in this video and had the best 8 hours sleep in such a long time. You have no idea how happy I was to wake up well-rested, when it was still dark and early. The most vital parts of this routine for me were getting sunlight and exercise in the morning, and limiting screen time and bright lights in the evening. Your body automatically powers down when you follow these steps. Also, make sure you eat before it gets dark and don't drink too much water before bedtime, lest you will wake up in the middle of the night and it won't be fun going back to sleep. Thank you SO much for this video. I've been struggling with fixing my sleep schedule for a few weeks and it's so messed up that my motivation has spiraled downwards. I'm going to try your advice and get back on track. Once more, really appreciate it.
How long did it took you to overcome it? I have been trying to sleep everynight since 11 PM but would end up sleeping around 4AM, wake up at 9:00. Help :(
This. Took like 10 days before my body would feel tired at 11:30. At first, I was waking up at 7:30am but still not being able to sleep at midnight. I was tired all day but my mind became active at night because that was what I was used to. I was basically sleep deprived the entire first week

So I've had an absolutely terrible sleep schedule. Last night, I slept at 5am and woke up at 3pm and it's been that way for a while now. My goal is to wake up at 7am, which is what I've set my alarm to. I'll follow this video and will update if it all goes well
To be completely honest the guy has fixed my sleep for my life now. I thought I used to have terminal insomnia where you wake up at 5am in the morning and can’t get back to sleep. When I looked for video about this it never helped me as it was never about teens it was always about adults. Then I went to doctor and said you haft to live with it and didn’t help and this video was my last hope and has fixed my sleep I am so thankful. I used to only get 6 hours of sleep but now getting 10 hours at 14 I am really thankful
- I'll wake up at 8:00 A.M every single day - Alarm set. - When I wake up, I will go to my balcony to get some sunlight after brushing my teeth. - After greeting the sun, I will do Chloe Ting's warmup exercise. - In the evening, I will take a warm shower after I finish dinner. - After taking a shower, I will limit my screen time to just 30 minutes so as not to damage melatonin, which can help me fall asleep faster. I will read books and plan for the next week 'till 10 P.M. If I want to do so, it is imperative that I finish all my digital devices-required tasks such as revising French for exams, doing IELTS writing HW, and revising Chemistry for exams, too. - I will not look at any screens when I'm in bed.
I need to wake up at 5 am every morning. When I wake up in the morning, I will turn on all my lights and go to the bathroom. After taking wudhu and praying fajr, I will do some stretches and warm up exercises for about five minutes. When the sun goes down, I will gradually dim the brightness on my devices and turn off any unnecessary lights. Lowering my body temperature isn’t really an issue for me so I’ll skip that for now. And thankfully I’ve already got into the routine of not using my phone while I’m bed and having a small night time routine to get into the habit. This will help me a lot so thank you so much for the video! I’m sure many of us needed this :)
Hey, perfect timing! I'm relieved to have found this. I've been trying to fix my sleep schedule for a month without much success 😓but I'll follow your steps to see how things go. Thank you improvement pill!
I followed all these steps and slept the best I’ve slept in awhile. I struggled to fall asleep but after that I stayed asleep and woke up refreshed and with a lot of energy. Thank you improvement pill.

“Set realistic expectations, don’t wake up at 5 am” yeah I can’t really wake up at 5 am since I normally *go to sleep* at 5 am or later and wake up in the late afternoon LMAO
Quick tip for anyone who doesn’t have the storage to download a blue light filter app (Apple only). Go to settings > Display Brightness > Night Shift and make it a warmer setting. You can enable it manually or make it a schedule. Hope this helps anyone:)
Android has this too, just slide down the menu and one of the icons should offer "eye comfort shield" you can set times or do it manually as well. It's great to see big tech giants actually implementing this so we sleep a little better!
I don't comment much but this helped me: Try to keep as still as possible and relax your body. Do not scratch an itch or change position, that will delay your sleep. If you are actually on the brink of sleep itches would not bother you.
Didn't search for this video but did sort of need this. Ever since covid I've been getting like 9+ hours of sleep and still feeling so tired, constantly waking up at like 12:30. So past like 1 and a half years it's been like that so I've wanted to start waking up at normal times. Edit: so ummm...came back to this comment which I had completely forgot about because of all the replies and damn there's a lot. I appreciate the genuine concern even though I'm a stranger but I don't recommend trying to "diagnose" me unless you're a professional who knows what they're talking about. For the most part my problems with sleep is probably just due to the practise of bad habits over the course of this whole covid ordeal but now that school is finally taking place on campus I can work on fixing myself. Anyways appreciate the concern but ya'll don't need to keep trying to give me advice, cya.
@@brundain1 Definitely don't have sleep apnea, definitely oversleeping but I'd just like to know why because this problem has only surfaced because of covid. Probably has to do with school being entirely online the past 1 and a half years.
@@shoobzy3431 I definitely have the same problem. Maybe because of covid, we didn't go outside that much and spends our time mostly in the bedroom, slowly forgetting what time is it because the lack of exposure to the sun. For me personally phone is also a problem. So i have to put away my phone to be concentrated.
Do you have a job/school/something to do with your day? Loneliness, isolation, mild depression, this has been very common for everyone during the pandemic, and it's a lot worse when you have no schedule
I will wake up at 10 am everyday. Alarm set. When I wake up, I will eat breakfast in my backyard. After I eat breakfast in my backyard I will stretch for a few minutes and walk on the treadmill. I will substitute caffeinated tea for herbal tea in the mornings. When the sun goes down, I will enable a blue light filter on my computer and turn most of the lights off. After finishing dinner, I will take a shower. I will not look at my screens when I’m in bed (today is an exception ;) ).
A cool tip that helped me a lot with waking middle of the night was starting to eat a snack, something light, about the time I'm going to bed. Not having a major glucose drop prevents those waking up in the middle of the night
When i wake up at 5 am in the morning. -I go out for a barefoot walk into the forest. -When when i come back i do some jump rope exercise for 15 minutes -after jumprope i set up my work environment and my tasks for the day and remember the fact that i have been given a new day☀️🤗 -After the reflection i will take a shower and go for some yoga. -After yoga i will grab a healthy and delicious breakfast. In the evening i will go to bed @23h and in the future adjust to the tiredness of the body to wake up around the same time. Not gonna lie it's lowkey wholesome to see a majority of this comment section on the same boat in regards to having a poor sleeping pattern, and then the rest of the comments being tips on how to improve it. Big ups everyone in this CS!
I will wake up at 6am everyday(eventually) Alarm set. When I wake up, I will go to the front yard table as fast as possible. After I wake up in the morning, I will run around my house for 10 minutes. When its time to pass out in my bed, I will stop as many lights as possible from reaching my eyes. I will sleep without a blanket with an open window to cool my body. I will look at screens as little as possible while in bed.
Update: I wasn’t able to have a proper sleep for 3 days now, I tried to sleep around 11 but would fell asleep around 4 am until I tried listening to meditation video. I fell asleep around 12AM, woke up 8. Ohmygod, the best sleep I have ever had.
Tonight, I will not rest. I will go outside when the sun goes out to help fix my circadian rhythm. Before that, I willdrink a cup of coffee to trick my body into thinking I’m well rested. After a nice long day of working out outside, I will be extra tired due to me not actually having any rest, and (hopefully) my circadian rhythm will be fixed. The days after I will implement all the habits you mentioned in this video.
Before the pandemic, I usually sleep around 11 pm and now I sleep around 5-6 am. To be up at 10 am would awesome but I know it'll be exhausting at first... No pain no gain I guess
Idk why, I just seems to have trouble sleeping and I always ask guidance but they always stated the same way you're saying. When I was kid, I have trouble sleeping too even though I never even know how to use phone. When I was in high school, I got into a boarding school and no phone are allowed to be kept yet I still have trouble sleeping. I asked my mom for permission to buy sleeping pills but she won't let me having sleeping pills and blames the phone as always. But sometimes I'm grateful people nowadays have trouble sleeping cuz of their phone. Now I have friends I can talk to in the middle of night 😌
I wanna start going to sleep around midnight and waking up at 8am. The key things I need to do for that are to exercise right after getting up before eating breakfast, keep my windows open so I get some sunlight, turn off my lights when it gets dark, shower at 10pm, and most importantly, don't go on my phone when I go to bed. I already have a fan on to keep me cool that night so that was never an issue, and I've also literally never drank coffee so caffeine shouldn't be an issue either. I also already block off all lights when I go to sleep, so my room has always been dark. Neither of these 3 things seem to have ever been an issue for me, it's mainly the other stuff that I said.
I’m amazed by how UA-cam’s algorithm recommended this to me even tho I didn’t search any videos related to it. I mean my sleep schedule is messed up rn and I really need to get my sh*t together and fix my sleep timing 😂😂😂

The first minute is enough for me. I really appreciate the fact that going to bed late and only waking up around 8 or 9 o'clock not only seems completely okay, but also normal and healthy
your comment is old but i completely agree. if you for example cant fall asleep before 6am trying to wake up at 8 or 9am would make no sense. best tip i found is to go to sleep and wake up 30 mins before you usually do. do this for a week and repeat. this would of course be a long process but everything else would be insanely unhealthy because you’re basically “fixing” your sleep schedule by being sleep deprived which is just as bad
Realistic artificial light to wake up and have total darkness during day. Blue blocking glasses exist to start producing melatonin at least about hour before sleep but there are also receptors in the skin so its better to block light at the windows.
I’m a middle school student and had used to sleep from 9pm to 12 or 1 am in school time and it was the most productive time ever and I woke up very fresh

Two hours before going to sleep I will make the lights warmer and automatically dim them more and more until I go to bed. Electric devices are already set to blue light filter in the evening. In order to get ready for bed I will do my evening routine and not scroll through my phone but listen to audiobooks. I will lay in bed at 23:30.

That much sleep is crazy. that’s just doing something else the wrong way. You’re missing out on you don’t need to sleep.
At 14 years old, 10 hours a day is a perfectly reasonable amount. Teenagers need more sleep, generally.
10 is great
- I'll wake up at 8:00 A.M every single day
- Alarm set.
- I will not look at any screens when I'm in bed.

how did it turn out?

Try to keep as still as possible and relax your body.
Do not scratch an itch or change position, that will delay your sleep.

When the alarm comes up it keeps me sleeping +won't let me wake up like I don't know why

Neither of these 3 things seem to have ever been an issue for me, it's mainly the other stuff that I said.
yeah. I barely have any motivation to work out, especially right after working out? :(

Quick question: How to make an opposite version of this especially for those working night shift? Thanks for the help!
Realistic artificial light to wake up and have total darkness during day. Blue blocking glasses exist to start producing melatonin at least about hour before sleep but there are also receptors in the skin so its better to block light at the windows.

I will limit myself to 1 cup of caffeine every morning.
When the sun goes down, I will turn off my main lights and turn on my lamp. ( Before I go to sleep I will limit the light as much as possible ( turn the aircon light off, unplug plus that produce light, and close the curtains ). )
After family time is finished, I will take a shower.
I will not look at any screens while I'm in bed.
I will first attempt to change my sleeping to 3AM-11AM. Once I've done that a few times and feel comfortable with this time, I will attempt to gradually sleep earlier and wake up earlier.

I have a terrible sleep schedule. I recently fell into the habit of oversleeping (9-11 hours usually per night). I think this is caused by my inconsistent bedtime, stress due to college, and overall lack of discipline. I plan to change things now so I hope this video helps me.
