13:50 The Scriptures quoted by NT authors are invariably from the Septuagint. Thus Matthew uses the word "parthenos" ("virgin", Matthew 1v 23 "ιδου η παρθενος εν γαστρι εξει ...") quoting Isaiah 7 v 14 ("ιδου η παρθενος εν γαστρι εξει ...") word for word. If the Jewish scholars saw fit to translate the Hebrew "amah" by the Greek "parthenos" they must have been totally convinced of Isaiah's meaning.

Yes, no matter how convinced someone is in their heart that following God is the best way and that they should, these things fail to overcome any fallen/evil tendencies. The deceptions and inventions of demons are so far and deep reaching that people willingly promote eternal suffering (which is 1 - impossible because God will never allow it, 2 - against our own irrefutable laws of freedom, 3 - is the most unreasonable thing imaginable, 4 -is the most undesirable thing imaginable).

Christians believe the virgin conception of Jesus. Doesn't this set Mary apart from other women? Then why is it difficult for most Christians to accept Mary's continued virginity, as we Catholics do?
Surely, St. Joseph, who accepted Mary's devine pregnancy, would have been afraid even to touch her?

We Orthodox Christians also believe Mary was/is 'ever-virgin'.
In fact, all reformers believed so, including Martin Luther and Calvin.
Mary had biological children with Joseph. The new testament gospels specifically state that Joseph waited until she had Jesus until becoming sexually engaged with her in consummation of the marriage. The concept of the Perpetual virginity of Mary is a complete false doctrine.
What’s the significance of Mary staying a virgin?
Mary gave birth to other offspring. He had half brothers so apparently Joseph had died after. She couldn't be a virgin
