The greatest female heroine to ever grace the screens! Honestly Xena was so revolutionary.
One of the greatest shows ever. High quality acting and direction. A gold standard.
Xena was my favorite show growing up. She was my hero and I looked up to her. I was young and so impressed because I thought she did her own stunts. Looking back now and watching all these and seeing the not-so-seamless cuts for the action scenes, I'm still in awe at how stunning Lucy Lawless looks, but I see now that they used stunt doubles :)
Sometimes Lucy Lawless did more than she should have. She had a back injury when she appeared on a late nite talk show and was out for months. The writers came up with a plausible explanation for the actress that played Calisto to switch places..
drmayeda1 it was a genius plan to switch bodies. Love those two episodes, although I did miss Lawless. Hudson did an excellent job portraying Xena.

Actually, hercules started her on her journey to redemption. They became lovers and he wanted her to stay with him but she said she had to much to atone for and needed to start right away, hence her own show and this first episode

That part in the beginning always confused me, burying her weapons and armor in a shallow hole. What was she trying to do?
@@drmayeda1930 she was wanting to atone for her past violent and evil ways and wanted to help people and did not want to kill anymore so was burying her armor and weapons to leave them behind. However she decided she could use them for good too.

Buying the box set was well worth the money. Took me a while to find it in Australia. For some reason jb hi fi only sold it in half seasons

This is the very first episode, "Sins of the Past". Xena was about ready to give up her warrior lifestyle after all her wrongdoings, but then she met Gabrielle and everything changed.

This is the best show ever and I don't understand why people call it cheesy it is well written drama with a touch of comedy to help with the heaviness and entertainment.
Maybe cause of the fighting techniques or the defiance of gravity with stunts but the way it is executed is like a live action animated superhero show. My fav show of all time. I'm in a bad or good mood, I put this show on and I'm either entertained or I'm taught a life lesson
They call it cheesy because they don't go any deeper. It's a superficial analysis. And it sounds cool and intelligent.
