grand master Erigaisi played beautifully. He did not "get a lesson" from Firouzia as some claim. I think he was winning in 8:40 but should have played Kh8 instead of a5
Perfect Meir.. erigassi has nothing to learn from his opponent. He knows whats happened but discussed something out of his usual talks. It's a good time to be alive seeing the best of their generations clash. I hope magnus can retain his prime a little longer his been in bad form several times I believe since November of 2020 when Wesley won that online rapid tournament don't remember the name of the tournament, but when he is in form there is no doubt he is the best at the moment. Wesley said so after winning the tournament that, it's depends on magnus form. But firouzja is definitely getting a foot hold of that level and soon enough would climb and stand at the top.. hope both are in th best form when they clash in wcc in the future
8:51 is so trippy. Arjun picked up the new rook, then pawn, then the white rook, then dropped his rook, pressed the clock then only put down the white rook. Where did the pawn go?
Hmm... time trouble made Arjun miss the Knight fork.... good fight, kudos to Alireza for not cracking in mutual time trouble! Tough and complicated game as well, well handled by both players.
Great chess players in a battle against their deodorizer. One of the most inaccuracy-ridden games I've seen from a set of top GM's in a while. Blind panic from both sides.
Don't be misled. Arjun is a beast and he finds moves that even all-time greats like Anand couldn't. I consider him just as strong as Firouzja himself in blitz. I wish he could have white against Firouzja to see how he does.
Arjun was in theory until Bc4 and pretty much after that he had a much clearer idea on what he was doing, and had a better position. Alireza is just better in blitz
@@nielsw.8587 I just want to appreciate their preciseness and see the blunders getting played. Believe me there wont be any Indian GM in the future who could even dream of winning against Firouzja in the next couple of years....whereas Indian GM's just keep dreaming of reaching Candidates whereas other GM's dream of winning candidates and becoming challenger to the World Champion.....last time any Indian played in Candidates tournament was Vishy Anand in 2014....but he too didnt qualify for Candidates 2016.....!
Also most of the tournaments are open for everyone to participate and the reason you don't see the female players in the media is that they are simply weaker to be highlighted, ofc there are some female players who can be exceptions but we re talking about the majority
King on c1 is slightly exposed on dark square diagonal. And Arjun's dark square bishop is basically a dragon in the game. It can give a deadly check or pin from h6. So king to B1 is a prophylactic move to avoid such threats.
Queen or rook, alireza was anyways going to take it with the bishop, since alireza's king would be in check. I think he just made a piece to deliver the check, rook would also suffice
Arjun is better than him. Looks like he was under confindent because of big name. To give away queen. But this game surely would have given clearer picture.
I love Arjun's personality. Always humble and eager to learn
he is exactly a copy of Vishy Anand in terms of humbleness and respect for others
eager to learn??
dont be a such wanker.
you learn some psychology ... its a classic reaction to a loss : SAYING SOMETHING
both are gentle and polite. Ali is more intellegent.
Can we take a second and appreciate how this man played a hyper dragon and didn’t get kingside rolled
it’s a very legit opening if you know a little bit about the theory, it’s deff not that easy to win with white against a well prepared dragon player.
Firouzja is a monster on finding way outs of lose 🤝
Alireza changing his long time plan every two moves. Very nice massage
No, he was just manouvering hoping for opponnet to blunder xD
The winner are the people who are watching the game in you tube.
Thank you both
Nice win for Alireza, and considering he won against India no.1 it was certainly meaningful. Very excited to see his performance in the Candidates.
@fighting porium bas kar bhai kitna spam karega😑
Comparing blitz to Candidates is too silly. What Ali Reza did in his last classical tournament is much more meaningful

Arjun went on a three-loss streak against Nepo, Alireza and Kravtsiv towards the end of the event. Otherwise, his overall play was exceptional.

Nice match up between Firouzja and Arjun...both played well. 👍 Firouzja definitely is a cool customer! 😎
