Hey it's totally fine to show the set up process without fast forwarding;, it's nice and relaxing and perhaps it gives you some room to talk through your thought process. Oh and it makes your video longer haha
BABIES!! Happy to see this vid pop up on my feed. My campestratus (and first/only t) molted for the first time with me, to I think third instar, early this month. I always heard they were slow growers but oh my lord it doubled in size in just a couple months! It's so docile, even a little curious--I love it so much. They're great spoods! With somewhat moist substrate the burrow holds a shape, so it's got multiple large chambers dug out, to the point I have to remove dirt as it excavates more--it's really cool to watch expand. Re: plants, mine actually loves its plant... it used to sit on the leaf and groom when it came out at night :) So glad to see the Mews are doing well!
This happened with my B. Hamorii last month and it took me a good ten minutes of digging. Thought for sure she was dead, but she emerged from the dirt, kicked a few hairs at me, and was fine. Phew!
I have three of them. I raise it up from tiny Slings. I buy them in 2021. They grow veeeeery slowly. But they are one of my fafourite Spiders. Extremly calm and gently, relatively good Eaters.
I noticed that in a lot of your videos that you use store bought moss, you can grow your own moss, first you need an see through bowl with a lid(you can use glass too), add some clay balls in the bottom of the bowl with mesh because you don't want it to just lay on just water, then put some dirt and put the live moss in many pieces, you can get moss from outside, when you get it from outside you need to soak it in water (not tap water) for 5-10mins when the times is up you take them out and smash it in your hand(to get rid most of the water), put them in many places in your bowl and push them into the dirt, close the lid and leave it in a place with light (balcony, garden or under white LED lights) in about 60 days, the bowl will be filled with moss(spray them with water now and then so you can keep the humidity high also don't use any bowls with holes)I love your videos
Honestly, these are the most chill tarantulas I've ever seen. I've totally in love with this species and I'm an arachnophobe! I'm telling you TRUTH, these are great guys that could stay at my place, anytime, lol! All my best to you and your family for these upcoming holidays!
Merry Christmas to you and yours!! My daughter and I watch your channel together and the coffin crib came just in time for Christmas lol… at this point she’s forgot about it, and I’m looking forward to her opening it tomorrow! :)
I literally interrupted The video that Mr. Ballen uploaded today to see this!!! Will update once i finish the vid. I'm glad everyone is okay. A bit spooked, And maybe a little angry, But i'm glad they're safe.
@tarantulakat my mom bought a small old house and renovated it, when it came time to paint the front door she accidentally picked a violently purple color. It was Behr concord grape or something. I'm painting my front door the same way when I eventually buy my first house
Idk if it's because of where I'm located or what. All but two of my enclosures with moss in em molded. Also I find the reptisoil is less dusty and mixes with water better when you mix sand with it.
I am new to your channel and I love watching your videos! I could definitely watch longer videos if you made any! Keep up the great work and Merry Christmas!!! 😄💙🐬
That's what I'm worried about I have a new to me seemanni that has a burrow but needs to be rehoused. This will be my first rehousing with any of my ts lol
Hello, l am a big fan of your channel and l know this is not related to this video but can you give me some tip on making a jumping spider eat? I got a new jumping spider and it wouldn’t eat,l have another jumping spider that lives in the same room and it eats and all. So l am sure that there is probably nothing wrong with the enclosure and temperature. But this new one won’t eat,l have tried giving it a lot of preys like crickets, mealworms, dubia roaches. But it still won’t eat. Any tips would help, thank you!🙏🙏
I get that roots could be damaged by the burrowing spiders but wouldnt the root of live plants help stabilize the substrate to make the burrowing safer aswell? Just asking in general, not a keeper of any exotics btw.
No, their webs do that for them. They line the inside of the burrow with webs which binds things together and supports everything. The only time they are going to be at risk of collapse is if the keeper uses heavy objects in the enclosure and the spider doesn't have room to build a burrow out of its way. The burrow collapsed in this vid because Kat had to dig everything up - you can still see the webbing keeping sections of the dirt together. If a keeper needs to do that, then they must take out any potential falling items that may land on the spider (which Kat did). If you have live plants in these small enclosures with burrowing animals, and plant them directly in the substrate (without a protective pot) they just get uprooted and die. It's a waste of time and plant.
Happened to me about a month ago with my colbalt, boy I was so freaked out, like a mother who lost her child. I had to dig slowly and gently bc she is still a juvenile. I found her after I emptied her enclosure in the return bowel. I picked her up gently and I saw a little blue under the dirt. I put her enclosure back together as she sat on my hand. Lol. After 2 days she was gone in her tunnels. I saw her little toe beans when she was hungry. I stick a cricket or two down the hole. Will I ever see her, fully or will she stay underground?
My sling is having its first moult since being in my own ownership. Google says it can take 30 minutes up to several months. At what stage does one look into something different than moulting, i mean, like if it's died? Its only been like 30 minutes so I'm not worried plus it's legs have twitched so I'm not worried anything is wrong and im not bothering it but is there a time limit when one might question why it's been on its back so long?
If they are actively molting it can take a couple hours or more depending on size. I’ve had tarantulas lay on their backs an entire day before actually molting. I’d say any longer than 3 days with no movement is when I’d worry.
Why did you mess up that turret that tarantula made that hole was beautiful perfectly circled like something blew up in it my tarantula did that only one of them
Tarantula cat I have something really to ask you I have asked a lot of people but nobody hits me up I have 20 something tarantulas and I made my own enclosures but I'm trying to get more cribs and it's just hard to get nice expensive with kids but if you just use repti soil wouldn't it just collapse because it's not strong enough during how long u use it for because I use red tea soil for my Cameron red baboon and every 2 inches and the barrel collapsed but I didn't know because it didn't collapse from the top it collapsed from the inside so it looked it okay incense that spider always Burrows I thought it was down there for a long time and then it end up just dying out of nowhere
You are so personable with them! My friends used to mock me for talking to my snakes! Philistines!
It's like living archaeology... With the toothbrush and everything..😅 beautiful babies
"Mother, why have you covered me in dirt?"
“Mother, you’ve done me dirty.”

Fur babies 🐶 🐶 🐶
I love your socks
Because of the water dishes, you must now rename them Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. It’s in the rules
I had a burrow collapse on one of my tarantulas and she couldn’t get to any of her food or water. So we dug her up and revamped her enclosure.
Everyone knows Gentle is T Kat's middle name!

Cuute ❤❤❤
Do you keep your spider room at any specific temp? I keep my home around 68 in the winter, and I worry it's a bit too cold for my bugz.
Yes because Spiders care what kind of water bowl they have...
