I definitely like the trait system in the Sims 3 more than the Sims 4. There's way more options
I totally agree , when I was playing ;the sims 3 I didn't know what to pick and I liked that you could pick there zodiac signs

Traits also change behavior in The Sims 3. In TS4 they add a couple of options, and modify the way you level up skills or get into emotional states, but they don't really change behavior at all. In TS3 a frugal sim would clap their hands to turn off lights and reduce bills, an evil sim would laugh at the misfortune of nearby sims, a dramatic would fake passing out, etc. All traits feature special idle animations as well, so just by looking at a Sim you can tell which traits they have.

Same.. i’m doing this sims 4 thing now wich is about this kid who just is hated by his parent’s because they are self centered and only care for his older sister so he just gets littered with shit by his parents.. (eventually i’ll have him run away because he’ll just be done with them) his sister is his only friend though

I think it looks better on camera, because I remember back in Quxxn and AndrewArcade days thinking the same thing, but honestly when you get a PC and play it for yourself, the graphics are pretty trash..
Not to mention it runs like a piece of shit LOL
Madison I think the game looks bad if you do not have a good Computer. I have a really good Computer (not to brag) and it looks pretty good, I think the problem is that looks so different to Sims 4.
Signe Foldager I used to play Sims 3 everything on max and it still didn’t look as good as TS4. Also, sims in TS3 look a lot more calculated and rigid in their movements as opposed to TS4 where everything looks natural.

I want The Sims 3. Don’t judge but when I got The Sims 4 I didn’t even know that there was, The Sims 1
The Sims 2 or The Sims 3. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE The Sims 4 but I want to try The Sims 3 to. But the computer I use well... it kinda sucks. The Sims 4 already crashes but not a lot. If I got The Sims 3 the computer would be like hell.
Brandie Kutch You’d need a pretty good computer to run both smoothly. Your sims 4 game probably crashes because your computer isn’t that great at running the game. The sims 3 can be even more laggy so before getting the game maybe consider getting a better computer

Love Sims 3, with the right CC and custom worlds and things it's amazing. I never had lag in TS3, I know a lot of people complained about the open world + lag but you can't expect all games to run on an old PC/laptop.
Really The Sims 3 isn't even that terribly optimized. It's just that a majority of The Sims community are more casual PC users who don't even have a decent rig.

The graphics are not that bad actually and the art style of the Sims 3 is a lot more realistic than the Sims4. Sims 4 is very cartoony and too bright.

Anyone else wish that the toddlers in the sims 4 were more like the ones in the sims 3 like they would crawl until you teach them to walk, that they sleept in cribs instead of normal beds and that you had objects like walkers and changing tables

I hope they redo babies and have babies crawl. If toddlers already know the basics of walking then babies should crawl. I hate that they’re an object.
Actually TS3 Base Game doesn't come with walkers or changing tables. But I agree on the other stuff. Here's to hoping that the PH expansion wasn't supposed to be a replacement for Generations and that we actually get some of that stuff. I find the whole stumbling animation with toddlers cute tho ngl. Also without CC Sims 3 toddlers are POPPED compared to Sims 4 toddlers.

I never played the sims 3, I went straight from sims 1 (purchased at a car boot sale way back when) to the sims 4, and this is making me feel like sims 4 is such a step down. Yeah the grafics of the sims may be better, but the furniture looks much more detailed. Sorta makes me wanna ditch the newer ones and buy this one instead!

I don't even know if anyone will see this but I'm all caught up on this lp (to episode 33 when I'm writing this) and this lp gives me so much nostalgia. I've never even played the Sims 3 before but it makes me feel like I'm going back to school on a nice fall day and it makes me feel really cozy? I know that's so weird but I absolutely love this lp and it's my favorite of all time

Finn how when sims 4 came out I wasn’t the biggest sims 3 fan. But then I played sims 4 and couldn’t play it (lagging) so I went back to sims 3 and fell in love???? It’s such a fun and cute game. We stan 👏🏻
Bit late at this point, but there was a tablet in the sims 3 store content that helped with skills immensely. I perhaps over abused it. You just click ‘listen to Simcast’, select the skill you wanted to improve, and were able to work on other things with your sim.

Lifesimmer's generations let's play was potentially the first ever let's play, fullstop, that I ever watched. I remember sinking SO MUCH TIME into this game after that, I still remember my little family. I think I got three generations in before sims 4 came in and took over my life. Lifesimmers generations challenge is what got me super into sims again back in the day. Her letsplays were the first ones I ever watched, I didnt know about the sim side youtube at all. I loved generations and ambitions packs, I miss being able to have a in home day care :/

I remember that I got the sims 3 for my 9th birthday in 2009 and my dad installed an Anti-sims because ONE DAY I refused to make my bed lmao I cried so much, now my boyfriend installed the sims 4 with all the dlc's and expansion packs to make up for my sadness

I used to not actually like the sims 3 bc I thought it had bad graphics blah blah blah... but the other day I saw the game and an expansion pack together for pretty cheap so I gave it a chance and now I realize how good of a game it is
Sims 3 is sort of trashy by itself in comparison to the Sims 4 but as soon as you've played an expansion theirs no denying how good it is 🤷🏽♀

The Sims 3 had great things in it, but I couldn't bear the graphics/art style. I just couldn't get into it. That, plus the store content that I couldn't spend money on (on top of all of the packs), I just stuck with The Sims 2. TS2 was my childhood game; I started The Sims when I was 7ish (2002) and TS2 a little before Nightlife came out (2004). I played it, bingeing occasionally with gaps between sessions, and only started TS4 just before the Covid pandemic kicked in because I'd saved up to buy all of the packs in one go. I do love TS4, but there are so many things from TS2 that I miss - primarily the babies, the memory system and the storytelling capabilities with photos you can rearrange in a neighbourhood folder and individual household ones, rather than the ridiculous single folder for all families that TS4 has.
I'm very passionate about it because The Sims and then TS2 were my childhood escape from multiple traumas, so it's a core part of what made me love gaming. I find it so hard to stick with one family long enough to complete one generation, let alone more, primarily because I can't document their memories and photos the way we could in TS2. I hope that it's something they fix before moving on to TS5 because so many of us are storytellers with The Sims and can't do that as much in TS4. Excited for the new infant update and Growing Together pack, though - can't wait!
Also, I could relate to saying something and finding it a little funny, but your self-esteem makes you doubt yourself, so you say it wasn't funny and I felt the "I hate myself" and other self-depricating comments. I wish we didn't put ourselves down like that. The joys of having self-doubt and self-esteem challenges. You are great as you are, Kayla! (I know this is 4 years old, but it still applies
