it wasn't going to be faster, they wanted to limit the power on 300 hp, even though the prototypes had 600
Yeah as said above, they were going to be limited to 300hp however homologation rules also required only 10 units to be made. Therefore the cars could be designed in a much more outlandish and expensive manner, more experimental in terms of aero and materials to get the biggest advantage possible with the power cap. Or in short it would've been the GT1 of rallying

I don’t know why you didn’t keep the stock engine in the elemental the stock engine is cracked fully upgraded and it builds about that much horsepower and is already turboeed

Here's some news: Lancia is returning to rallying, initially with the Rally4 class Ypsilon HF.
DJ and the like should have been handicapped with RWD, considering there were also RWD Group B cars that were eventually made obsolete by the AWD cars (e.g., Lancia 037, Opel Manta, BMW M1, Renault 5 Turbo, etc.)
