Yes mate Rex & SE 1 were bangin' night's out but with more of a bigger rave vibe or maybe it felt that way to me because i had to travel, whereas one of the things that made atomics special was that it was local and the intimacy of it being a smaller venue, you were literally standing next to the MC's on the dance floor, so close fearless nicked my spliff and toked the fuck out of it inbetween some bars, and literally the whole thing was trailing!!! Never got it back, plus the sound system was pretty good for a club. There was a sort of downside though and that was the sweat drippin' from the ceiling and the walls it made the dance floor pretty slippery, not too good when your proper mash up!!!
Atomics was wicked back then,remember some nights the Kool FM crew would do a set upstairs with MC's like Shocking & IC-3 ahh good times. Hastings Pier was also a great venue back then . Shout out to all the old Heat/Pure Science crews. Someone mentioned how good the soundsystem at Atomics was considering the size of the club. The club had a relaunch /revamp (early 90's I think but not 100%....,big opening wiv Paul Okenfold)& the word going round at the time was a very high percentage of the budget was spent on the soundsystem alone & you could def hear it.😵💫🔥🎵📀💊
