The show was so fun and excitable all of a sudden, esp when it was getting a little boring.

Even sister groups in other Asian countries : JKT48 in Indonesia, BNK48 in Thailand, MNL48 in Philippines, AKB48 Team SH in China, SGO48 in Vietnam, AKB48 Team TP in Taiwan, CGM48 also in Thailand, DEL48 in India and MUB48 also in India. They even have niece in China : SNH48, BEJ48, GNZ48, SHY48, CKG48 and IDOLS Ft. They even have their official rival groups in Japan : Nogizaka46, Sakurazaka46 and Hinatazaka46. All groups have the same amount of members, also many graduated members. There are also girl groups who are “related” to 48/46, such as IZ*ONE in South Korea, =LOVE in Japan, ≠ME in Japan, Last Idol in Japan and Last Idol Thailand in Thailand. Imagine how many girls counting the main group, all sister groups, all niece groups, all rival groups and all related groups 😅.

Did you know why AKB48 has so many members? Ok, read this explanation:
K-pop: boygroups & girlgroups
J-pop: idol groups
Usually (once again: usually) Kpop only has 4-15 members, because their concept is simple boy/girlband. they do not have a system for entering new members or graduating members.
and J-pop like AKB48, JKT48, Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46, etc. have about 20-hundred members, because they are an idol group that regenerates from year to year (example: members in the first year when they debuted is 1st gen. the next year changes to 2nd gen, and so on). Then, from among them, they can choose to graduate from the idol group at will.
the concept of a J-pop idol group is like a school, there are members who graduate, there are additional members, regeneration, have uniforms, much more complicated than K-pop.
*Example of members system:*
- a K-pop girl group debuted in 2017 with 5 members. so from 2017 until they disband there will be 5 members. unless if any member gets involved in a scandal, or whatever, then they will be kicked out of the group. if a K-pop member gets kicked out, it's not uncommon.
- a J-pop idol group debuted in 2010 with 50 members (that's called 1st gen). then, in 2011, 2 members graduated (out from group). So, the number of members is reduced to 48 members. but at the same time, 2nd generation auditions were held. And selected 45 members. So, the number of members is 48 + 45 = 93. That's is the system of 48 and 46 groups.
It can be concluded, K-pop auditions are only done once. But, J-pop idol group auditions are held every generation.
Well, AKB48 is an idol group from Japan that has a lot of members. they were formed in 2005. AKB48 has many sister groups in Japan and in countries other than Japan. Here is a list of groups that are still active:

AKB48 does not have a sister group in Korea because idols in Japan (J-pop) and in Korea (K-pop) have different systems. But don't worry, there is 1 K-pop girl group under the same auspices with AKB48, the name is IZ*ONE (disbanded).
but IZ*ONE is not actually a 48 group, they are just a CJ E&M special project through the 2018 reality television competition show Produce 48.
All AKB48 sister groups based outside Japan have the 'task' of translating AKB48 songs into their respective languages. but some of them have already released original songs.
Because SNH48 has left the AKB48 Group, they no longer translate AKB48 songs.
I know that there is a K-pop group that has a system like the J-pop idol group, namely NCT. NCT has 'brother groups' such as NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV. It's like AKB48 which has sister groups. NCT has a 'brother group' called WayV, and WayV had been translated NCT song(s) into Chinese. NCT is one of the K-pop group(s) that has a unique concept.

Kalau secara sistem member dan banyak unit emang sama akb grup dgn nct sistemnya, cuman yg graduation sistem di akb belum/kayaknya gak jadi diberlakuin di nct, sebelumnya ada di unit nct dream krn member yg berusia 20 lebih graduate dr dream tp dihapus krn protes dr fans. Untuk sistem di nct u pakenya istilah sistem rotation (bongkar pasang member/bergilir) atau milih member yang cocok dan sesuai sama tema lagu yg mau dibawakan. Misal spt kemarin di project nct 2020 ada 4 unit nct u yg membawakan 4 lagu genre berbeda kayak unit vocal line ngebawain genre ballad, unit lain ada genre edm, rnb hiphop, dll. Selebihnya menurut gw nct tetep kayak idol kpop lainnya yg lagunya juga ciri khas kpop. Dan di unit seperti nct 127 itu udah fixed member beranggota 10 org jd gabisa diganti atau ditambah. Oh iya, untuk wayv sebenernya itu nct versi unit china tapi lagunya nggak cuma translate-an dari korea aja tapi mereka juga ada lagu sendiri yg beda kok dan yg translate cuma lagu debut nya aja yg regular chinese ver dibawain wayv, selebihnya itu lagu mereka sendiri jadi tiap unit nct comeback, lagu dan konsepnya beda² mau itu nct u, nct 127 nct dream atau wayv.

Kpop : GIRL GROUP/BOY GROUP NOT GIRL BAND/BOY BAND
AKB48 has a unique concept in Japanese idol culture. When they debuted in 2005 idols were in decline in Japan, people were not interested in them anymore and even Hello!Project was already dying. But AKB48 had a unique concept of "idols you can meet". In Japan idols are generally seen as completely far from fans. They have an ideal look and people can't reach them easily. But with AKB48 was different, for the first time people could meet their idols every day in the theatre in Akihabara and there are also the handshake events. They started low with only 7 people watching them on theatre, it was an ambitious idea and people though it would be a failure, but then AKB48 managed to become the biggest girl group in the world by 2012. They revived idol culture in Japan and idols started to thrive again.
People nowadays think only K-pop is famous worldwide, but AKB48 managed to be extremely famous in the whole world during their Golden Era. They were featured in Disney's movie Wreck-It Ralph with their song Sugar Rush, and it wasn't only a part of Japanese soundtrack, but worldwide soundtrack. It is the movie's ending in the whole world. Unfortunately the Golden Era is gone and now AKB48 is declining very fast and Covid-19 has made it very hard for them to continue with their concept of "idols you can meet", but I hope they can recover fast.
Their sister groups are:
SKE48, based in Sakae (Nagoya), debuted in 2008;
SDN48, based in Akihabara, was a mature version of AKB48 with members being above 20 years old, debuted in 2009 but disbanded in 2012;
NMB48, based in Namba (Osaka), debuted in 2010 (Note: they were always managed by Yoshimoto Kogyo, different agency than all other 48G, so their concept is a bit different than the other groups);
JKT48 , based in Jakarta (Indonesia), debuted in 2011 and is the first international sister group;
HKT48, based in Hakata (Fukuoka), debuted in 2011;
NGT48, based in Niigata, debuted in 2015;
BNK48, based in Bangkok (Thailand), debuted in 2017 and is the 2nd international sister group;

They're heavily involved with Setouchi Region tourism and it's even co-owned by the Region's tourism board. Unfortunately, their shipboard theatre was closed this year due to Covid-19;
MNL48, based in Manila (Philippines), debuted in 2018 and is the 3rd international sister group;
AKB48 Team SH, based in Shanghai (Mainland China), debuted in 2018 and is the 4th international sister group;
AKB48 Team TP, based in Taipei (Taiwan), debuted in 2018 and is the 5th international sister group (they were initially named TPE48, but they disbanded before debuting and were released with this new name);
SGO48, based in Ho Chi Mihn City (Vietnam), debuted in 2018 and is the 6th international sister group (they're named after Saigon, former name for HCMC);
CGM48, based in Chiang Mai (Thailand), debuted in 2019 and is the 7th international sister group.
Vernalossom also plans about releasing Indian groups, but they have been in an hiatus due to Covid-19 and haven't debuted yet. They're: MUB48 (based in Mumbai, previously named MUM48 and announced in 2017) and DEL48 (based in Delhi, the members were announced in 2019 but they all have graduated, but they didn't disband). SNH48 (based in Shanghai) debuted in 2012 as AKB48's 2nd international sister group, but on 2016 they have become completely independent and now doesn't have any connection to 48G despite the name. Their sister groups are BEJ48 (based in Beijing), GNZ48 (based in Guangzhou) and CKG48 (based in Chongqing). They had another sister group called SHY48, based in Shenyang but they have disbanded. CKG48 also disbanded, but then re-debuted 2 months later.

Ahhh Yukkirin is so beautiful!!! I watched this live but at the time I wasn’t a fan of akb48 (though I knew of the song heavy rotation). Now in my 20s I’ve become a fan which makes me so sad, I wish I’d liked them sooner 😢 I could have gotten so excited at their appearance then!
