its such a shame Brandon Belt got thrown at vs Rockies before playoffs started. I believe the Giants absolutely would beat the Dodgers with Belt in the lineup. he was their most prolific hitter.
2001 Seattle Mariners, 116 wins tying for the all-time record in a single season, most runs scored of 900+, fewest runs allowed (don't remember this one off the top My head). On the batting side they had the future hall-of-famer Ichiro Suzuki and all-around great player Bret Boone, and I had one of the best pitching rotations including I think Jamie Moyer (I don't remember for sure and don't really want to look it up). Despite all this talent, they were sent home in five games against the Yankees in the ALCS.
@@davidrothbart3301 You misunderstand. I meant that year. I know that the 1999 Cleveland team scored over 1000 runs (yes I know they don't hold the record either). I don't know what the record is for fewest runs allowed in a season but it's obviously less than what the Mariners did in 2001. When I meant was they scored the most runs in 2001 of 900+, and they allowed the fewest runs in 2001, not all time. I didn't make it clear that I was specifically talking about the season 2001 and not all time and that's my bad.
craw dad had one of his best at bat seasons and took over defense along with posey (some would say we have yet found a replacement at catcher) and it all came down to a checked swing against scherzer with the dodgers 💔 truly an unforgettable season the vibes were high and nostalgic at oracle park when nobody was looking. wilmer finally looked like red sox wilmer and played like a lead off in the bottom of the rotation always on base or sending it away played every game, let’s not forget about captain belt although he was injured most of the season was great for morale people would wear a sailor captain hat.
Winning the World Series is not about talent; that is true. What it's about is getting hot at the right time (i.e. the playoffs). Or, conversely, not going cold at the wrong time. In a short series (and even a best-of-seven is a short series by baseball standards), any team can beat any other team four times. In the playoffs, where there is little difference in talent between the teams, anything can happen.
The 2013 Detroit Tigers were the best team to not make the world series. Their pitching was ridiculous and the offense was insane. I stand by that if that Ortiz slam didn’t happen then they would’ve won it all.
I'm really confused why yaz "performed well" with an .848 ops and 23 homers but slater "excelled" with an .824 ops and 4 homers lol. Pretty clearly the one who excelled was yaz.

losing belt ruined us. he was the hottest hitter in baseball at the end of the year
Would have been nice to see what would have happened if the ump got that call right.
I remember this and it was so fun to watch the NL West and my favorite team win it all!

they neither scored the most runs or allowed the fewest so umm...

@@deathlessgamer oh ya and youre totally right they should be on this list. dodgers should to from 2022 and maybe some prehistoric teams to
And that’s right after letting go of Griffey, Arod, Randy Johnson, and Edgar Martinez lol
Amazing video man! God that swing call on Wilmer Flores still makes me lose my mind
Thank you!
I’ve always said that if they ever made a MoneyBall 2, it should be based on the 2021 Giants
You are extremely underrated my man
Great vid idk how u dont have more subs
Great video, I was at game 5 and the check swing call still lives rent free in my head
It lives rent free in 1000s of Giants fans , I would trade the 2012 World Series just to beat the Dodgers that year ..
blown final call
as a lifelong giants fan I wasn’t even mad we were snubbed, i just enjoyed watching the giants dominate just like those years before
Posey most underrated player of all time

Thank You so much! Glad you enjoyed
This season restored my will to live. Also, fuck the dodgers

Very True
What if I told you the 2021 Giants we’re about that action…
They are 👀
what if i told you that they werent
This video is so good. Also this style of video reminds me so much of summoning salt.
I was so pissed on the strike 3 check swing call on Flores
One of the worst calls in recent memory
No one can figure that year out. Just one strange year. They didn't show up in the playoffs.

And it all came crashing down due to Wilmer Flores being jobbed out in NLDS Game 5 due to umpball.

MORE BASEBALL!!!!!
but you know, it's up to you... 💖💖
He did not go in a million years! God that swing call still makes me furious
Good video but way to high on some of the background music.
Thank you! I agree Will try and keep it lower next time
HE DIDNT SWING‼️😔
How can you not talk about Belt here
2001 Seattle Mariners.
No way it’s fuzzy
2017 Dodgers
1906 Cubs...
Bruins this season bro
The American League East is the hardest division in baseball…
Dodgers from 2013-2022 should have more than one WS. Well technically they have two since the Astros cheated
Dumbass take. Dodgers still couldn’t hit when they needed too. They scored one in GM 7…one.
No, the Dodgers shot themselves in the foot and made many more mistakes than the Astros that they would've lost regardless.
