I'm the same with reading a variety of books at once, we need variety haha! I also love reading in the morning, it's actually one of the first habits I changed as I started moving towards living slower, instead of powering through with the day and jumping out of bed, I get back in with my morning coffee and a book. I'd probably go as far as saying it's changed my life, feels like a way more gentle way to start the day and reminds me of my intention to go slower! x
I do the exact same! Its such a wonderful way to start the day :)
I can't imagine a life without books and reading. 📚 If I don't carry a book with me, I feel naked!
I read every night when I go to bed - been doing this since I was a teenager. I mostly read romances. When I downsize homes (in the next few months) I will have more free time and should have some time to read some non-fiction or non-romance fiction during the day.
New to your channel and I’m in UA-cam heaven. Tiny home, minimalist, nature lover, reader, vegan, lives in a Scotland and makes tea as dark as hot chocolate.. totally loving your channel! Thankyou for your channel and for the inspiration ❤
Oh and hello from Australia 🇦🇺
Aw welcome! I'm so happy to have you here :)
I expect you’ve already found it, but I think you’d like “Big Magic” by Liz Gilbert. It’s subtitled “Creative living beyond fear” and is all about the creative process - for a writer, but also for any creative/art form.
I love 💕 when you talk about books. I love I Capture the Castle. I really want to get my hands on a Jim Crumley book. ☺️♥️
Thank you! Recently finished I capture a castle and I adored it! :)
Yay HD quality finally :) The beautiful nature there deserves it :) I try to read as much as possible, when I can't do it I feel cranky :) I can just read one book at the time, I just get immersed in it and don't feel like doing it with multiple stories/themes at once . I envy those who can tho :)
Oh do enjoy I Capture The Castle, it’s a gem. Like you I have several books on the go at once. Starting the day slowly with some reading helps to set me up for the day. Something lighter to read in bed at night as I tend to fall asleep quickly. Have started rereading some childhood ‘classics’. Being 61 those are often the books that I read as a child. Have you read The Little Princess? Can I suggest that you try poetry too? Good to read in tiny pockets and often thought- provoking. Currently have How to Fly by Barbara Kingsolver by my chair as only recently found out that she writes poetry. Lovely video Molly. Thank you
I finished I capture the castle and adored it! I'd love to read more poetry, so thank you for the recommendation :)
Love 🥰 this video and love 💞Molly. Thanks for inspiring us to read because you can learn through reading. Have a lovely week Molly.
I've just finished reading that Jenny Colgan book. Loved it and want to read some more of hers as it is the first of her I have read. Found my What Katy Did book from the 70's when clearing my parents loft so read it again and it really took me back to childhood summer days reading while lying in the grass in the sun.
How wonderful! I hope you find some more Jenny Colgan books to enjoy :)
Love the reading basket idea! I’m going to do that! Have you read The Magic Apple Tree by Susan Hill? A Country year through the seasons, beautifully written and I’ve read it many times over the years and it never fails to inspire 🙂
Oh I haven't! Thank you for the recommendation :)
I read 2 or 3 books a week. It’s been a addiction since one of my brother ( gone now) taught me to read at age of 3. I saw you mentioned a book called Nature in Summer, so I thought I’d suggest Nature in Winter by Stokes. Tree skeletons, animal tracks, seed heads. Really fun to read. And interesting.
That is very inspiring to hear! Thank you for the recommendation :)
Absolutely love reading and you are so right about the pockets within our day xxx
A bit ago You Tube suggested your videos. I subbed right away. I have a small home with a simple life…and a Border Collie (named Beatrix or Trixie). I am a librarian so I’m a reader. How funny that I also have a basket of books as well as books for different areas of my life: a bag book for outings in the car, a nature book for reading outside watching and listening to birds, a bedside book for before bed, and a book for the rest of the house. Oh! And I have the exact same tabs to tab my books! I tag and then later copy quotes or passages in my commonplace journal. I’ve added a few of your suggestions to my Good Reads for later. Thank you!
Aw I'm so glad you've been enjoying my content! I love all your books!
Greetings from the tropics of Australia 🌴🐠Very much enjoying your book recommendations Molly. I have Jenny Colgan on the go now. Finished the Midnight Library by Matt Haig and WOW changed my life I think. Thank you Molly. D 👋
Aw amazing! I hope you enjoy your Jenny Colgan :)
Merry Christmas from nz! I've been working my way through your back catalogue recently. Loving the nature and books (and Skye cameos!)
Most of my heritage is Scottish so it seems like an extra special link too.

❤Enjoy watching a favorite show or Journaling Thanks for sharing have a wonderful week 😊
It's great to go to the library first :) When buying I would say there are more ethical online shops for books, like World of Books or Hive.
Also guilty of always reading several books at the same time !
Love this type of content!!❤
Hi Molly, I hope you're well. One of my favourite books of all time is 'I'm The King of the Castle' by Susan Hill. I read it at school and have reread it since. The story really sticks with you. I also recommend 'The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox' by Maggie O'Farrell. On a non-reading related topic, in which seasonings do you marinate your tofu?
Thank you for sharing :). I do a mix of olive oil, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar - then nutritional yeast, garlic granules and dried oregano & thyme :)
@@hippyhighlandliving , that sounds amazing!! By the way, if you have a Lidl near you, Meat Free week started today. They have some lovely vegan stuff including desserts, grains and vegan Nutella! 😋
I’ve read the Little Shop of Happy Ever After, it’s a lovely read! Thankyou for sharing x
It really is! :)
Loved the idea of having several books on the go Molly.
Hope you had a lovely break - I've just had 8 days in Edinburgh for the fringe festival. 😊
Lol the way you folded the burrito . The Mexican way is to fold the top & bottom first and fold it in with the sides .
Just love your channel i look forward to it every sunday night which for me at this moment in time, is a very hard place and so sunday evenings I am really struggling to cope, so thank you for sharing with us, it really is appreciated.
I'm so glad you enjoy :)
Thank you Molly. I just got done reading Sweetgrass by Mary Alice Monroe. Good read.❤
It's such a great video ❤ 📚 I love your reading basket 🧺 ❤
Thank you! :)
A lovely place.
Lovely relaxing video.Thanks. Hooked on historical romance at the moment. Like having a lightweight book for my bag and book in my car to read while waiting for someone or just to chill out.
Thank you!
♥ I Capture the Castle - yes, I think it is set in the summer
Another is Enchanted April
More modern, feelgood, set in France -
Ruth Silvestre's Sunflower series
Peter Mayle's French books - A Year in Provence etc, A Good Year
Other -
All of Derek Tangye's animal books
Thank you!
I’m really getting back into reading again, just finished The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah I was hooked from chapter one, loved it x
Lovely video, thanks for sharing! I just got back into reading this year after years of avoiding it post uni. In the past, I would try to force myself to read by tracking it as a habit (10pages a day), but this year I’m just picking up a book when I want to read. Since taking this kinder approach, I’ve ended up reading way more 😅. I usually have 3 books on the go, a novel, an adventure/nature book and a mindfulness book ❤happy reading!
That's great! Sounds like you've got a wonderful attitude for reading :)
Thanks Molly love your videos, Sky is adorable 🥰 Best wishes
Thank you! :)
Hello, Molly! This video is totally inspiring❤ And i like reading basket a lot! Such a good thing that i want to try.
Thank you! :)
Katydids are chocolates that my grandmother gave me as a child. ☺
:)
A while back Molly you recommended The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness by Michelle Paver…just wanted to say a big thankyou as I’m about to start the 6th book in the series & am loving it! ❤
Aw amazing! They are very special books :)
Несколько месяцев назад случайно зашёл на ваш канал, теперь каждую неделю смотрю с большим интересом каждый ролик! Огромное спасибо!
So happy to have discovered your channel! I feel we have a lot in common and I'm looking forward to your videos.💛🙏🏻🌼
Aw welcome! I'm so glad you found me :)
Brilliant video as always and such good advice about always having a book to hand to fit in pockets throughout the day. I always have a kindle book and an actual book on the go as I love the feel of a real book but my kindle can be more convenient at bedtime if my husbands sleeping. I love Colleen Hoover and can highly recommend November 9 and All Your Perfects…in fact I’ve never read anything by her I’ve not loved! :)
Oh thank you for the recommendations! :)
Like to plan a slow life on this video
Great vlog Molly some good reads you suggested l love Colleen Hoovers books she is a favourite of mine l haven't read Never"Never' yet as lm reading well trying to read 2 at a time very hard for me have other more important things to attend too,but still squeeze it in to 📚 read, Have a great week 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Love the book basket idea! I need to do that. Do you find Notion better than Goodreads for tracking reading? Great vlog, I’m new here 😊
Thank you and welcome! I've never used Goodreads, but I use Notion for everything and it works well for me :)
Thank you, Molly, and love the book basket idea, I’m accumulating some books now, and am striving to pick up the pace on my Anne of Green Gables series, which I am absolutely loving so much each and every book. I’m hoping that will inspire me in some sweet way to step up the pace. I’m still determined to make more time every day to read, and I do read different genres. I love them all. Right now I just finished “Fear”by Thich Nhat Hanh which was powerful and helpful. I’m a third of the way thru Leonardo Da Vinci by Walter Isaacson which is utterly fascinating. And. I just purchased The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese which is an Oprah pick. I do read, but am just too distracted to read a book every month. That’s my goal currently, as opposed to reading half of that every year. We shall see how it goes. I’m keeping my dream alive, and your inspiring video helped today! Immersing in Several books is a great way to read, I love that idea. A few pages of each…Thank you as always. 🙏🌸
Thank you for sharing your story! I love the Anne books, so I am sure they will help you towards your goal :)
I’ve just taken out Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan from the library. I’m looking forward to reading it. I think my biggest take away from your video is to having multiple types cod books on the go for different times of day and moods. I tend to stick to one book at a time but find I lose reading momentum as I struggle to decide on what to read next especially when it’s a fiction book I’ve really enjoyed. Perhaps having the next one stated in advance will help ease that transition for me and ensure I keep on reading.
Oh I've not read that one! Yes, I know what you mean, I do like to have another book ready to go. I sometimes have a 'stop gate' book between fiction if I need a rest, like a day of just non-fiction, so that I'm in the right mindset :)
@@hippyhighlandliving thanks Molly, you have encouraged me to pursue reading more.
Very Nice Video and great quality content. I found the tips of keeping tabs in the books very helpful and also the book basket is a great idea! Thanks Molly for sharing your useful ideas n tips. I'm curious to know what is your zodiac sign ? As I Read a lot on this subject 😊 Very interesting 📚
I'm glad you enjoyed! I'm a Scorpio :)
@@hippyhighlandliving Awesome 👌 it's a Water sign and one of the most powerful ones! Deep, Passionate, Intense, sensitive and very protective.
Love this video and totally share your passion for reading. Recommendations from my recent nature based non fiction reading:
Finding the Mother Tree by Suzanne Simard
Other lands by Thomas Halliday
Notes from Deep Time by Helen Gordon
Fab books that left me in awe of the natural world.
Have a fab week Molly!
Aw thank you and I appreciate the recommendations! :)
🌹❤️🧘♀️
Loved this. Have you read Wintering by Katherine May? It’s a beautiful book
Oh I agree. Beautiful book
I haven't but I have heard it recommended before, so will add it to my list thank you! :)
Loved this vlog!
I Capture the Castle was such a serendipitous find for me some years back, and it’s one of my “go-to” recommends; I look forward to hearing what you think of it!
Would like to recommend for you Edith Nesbit’s The Lark as well as Lucy Dillon’s Walking Back to Happiness (each of hers features a dog!) (-:
I finished it last week and adored it! Such a wonderful narrator and charming story :) Thank you for the recommendations!
