Today we're ripping a box of 2023-24 Panini Prizm NBA Hobby Box, which cost $900+ and feature 22 parallels and 2 autos. We're chasing Victor Wembanyama, Brandon Miller, and more from the 23/24 rookie class. This product is the most popular basketball set of the year, but as we all know popular doesn't always mean best.

That was beyond brutal. You mentioned what happened in your Wednesday night break, but you truly can't believe it until you see it. That was the worst box of Prizm Basketball hobby that I have ever seen ripped. You didn't even get big names on the color/numbered cards. I'm impressed by the composure that you showed during the video. You are a true professional in the hobby. After the NFL & NBA licenses are gone, Panini is going to be last place in the US trading card industry. How hard is it to create good will with customers in the hope that you can retain them after Fanatics acquires NFL & NBA cards by at least providing a decent product? I think once Panini lost the Fanatics deal, the powers that be just decided on a massive cash grab until they can't keep the printers running anymore.
Prizm has always been really bad with nothing in most of the boxes but this year they really messed them up missing cards, damaged cards, I did an FOTL break and 1 of the FOTL boxes had 0 FOTL in it .
@@pJ-us2vl I think I saw a FOTL break with 0 FOTL too. The "find 2 auto graphs" wording is also pathetic. If you are running short on autos because guys signed with Fanatics, just release the unsigned signature as SSPs like they did with Donruss Basketball. What the heck is going on with dirty cards in Prizm breaks too? Embarrassing.
Nah if anything, sealed boxes will go up. Especially if the players pan out

I've been watching lots of Prizm basketball hobby and FOTL rips, and people are getting screwed left and right. Missing autos, missing FOTL numbered cards, and lots of damaged cards. It's insane. Thanks very much for ripping these terrible hobby boxes so the average collector doesn't have to. We appreciate it.
I just said the same thing and I did a 3 box FOTL break and 1 of the boxes had 0 FOTL in it lol

Nevermind my RPA Tank Dell to 10 that if I'm lucky may get in 2026. No one can logically if trying to make money recommend a single Panini product moving forward at this point. This is 100% just raking in as much dough as humanly possible with the time remaining. Its Bullshit that they put out a Checklist of EXACTLY Stating what is available and yet they are not and never will be. I'm not sure what the recourse should actually be but only way they'd get hit is with a class action lawsuit across all of their products. They should but for all of us customers, not getting a fair compensation regardless. The redemptions is mind blowing. How can there not be a time limit of the 6 months or you get cash back for the running FMV of that card at the time of opening? i don't get it how they aren't getting massive pressure for this BS.

You can blame that 1 on topps fanatics. They're the one that print the cards and their factory. Set the packs up for panini.

I've watched several of these being opened and none of them have been good but that was brutal.

I'm not a fan of prizm , but that's disgusting at the highest level. A hobby box should never be that expensive unless your guaranteed 3 autos atleast!! Just a kick in the nuts!!

I was generalizing hobby to price to autos. It makes it worse when the big chase has no auto!! Just a lackluster product IMO
Prizm is always a couple junk autos, some numbered cards of nobodies and a ton of base. Even the good base autos like Paolo last year are some of the cheapest autos to buy and this year no good rookies even have autos.

RGL please do a follow up video to document if Panini reimbursed you or offered to replace the autos in this box. I’d love to know.
Less than $50 in cards for $1000 box looks like every Prizm box I've seen the last 3 years besides the missing autos they usually gave you atleast 2 junk autos.

Missing autos is just ridiculous. Nothing gets me more angry. Thank god you have everything recorded. I open a ton of product and don’t record anything bc I rip for myself. But missing your hits is beyond frustrating.

With Panini's price inflation, that very rarely produce a positive ROI, no wonder Topps is taking over. I would not be surprised to see a class action lawsuit at some point.
I saw a comment somewhere and the poster said he saw a break that had 4 autos in 1 box. So many reports of no auto boxes its crazy.
I work at a local lcs, and a gentleman that comes in at least 3 times a month maybe more. Bought the new recon hobby boxes. And he said he didn’t get any autos in his either.
But some series 2 hockey it releases on March 6 and pull that Connor bedard rookie

That's crazy! I took my kid to the LSC and we domed one box yesterday. We got 0 autos also! I didn't think anyone would believe me. I checked 5 times, then counted cards and there were 144 there. We did get a blue Wemby /199 so I am far from complaining, but I thought the auto thing was crazy.
You should open a quality control complaint with Panini. You will need your receipt and the part of the box stamped with the number.

@@bizzigieboysbreaks I don't know it's just what they require for the complaint. I had to do a complaint for a bad case and that's everything they wanted plus the UPC from the case. If you file the complaint and have the receipt and stamp from box or everything they ask you to send in they have to take it seriously. What they will do or how they will compensate you I don't know but as you just saw this is common in Prizm this year. If you don't have a Panini account you will have to create 1 which is easy and then go to account and create ticket they have a choice for damaged card, box or case just choose box and they will tell you what to send in.

This is the 5th Prizm Retail Box video opening I've seen today and I don't think any of them would get back 25% of the cost of the box. Hobby from Prizm has been brutal this year, but people keep overpaying, so the prices stay sky high.

The math is there's only 10/10,000 possible cards that may value higher than an 80$ pack. That's gives you a 99.999% chance of losing, and 99.9% chance of losing very badly. I have never seen a product so outrageously priced in my life.
Think about it 80$ could get you nba2k the game, budgeted at 100million and tens of thousands in manpower hours. Here 80$ in cards you get a somewhat constantly repeated border frame design, with an overall 20cent per card material cost. It's a product with 100x less the effort at 100x more the price. I think it's amazing how the human mind works to justify a literal scam. I urge people to not buy into the hype and pay what is fair. 7$ per card reveal is just not fair to anyone at all

I was done with Panini when they replaced my NT Darrell Henderson RPA /25 with 1 sparkle pack. Never again will I buy anything Panini. $1000 a box for this product is just dumb. Math doesn’t add up.
By far not the first time in 2023 Prizm that there are Autos missing...havent heard anything yet if panini does something about it.
Yes, they put "on average" on the box, so legally nobody can do anything, but when you seeing so so many boxes with missing autos, something fishy is going on.

Feel like cuz they added the white and snakeskin maybe they messed up the sorting and flagged packs with serial cards as being auto packs? That is brutal. Absolute football hobby also horrendous from cost perspective but can say this was worse
This product is so crazy. I've watched over 10 single box breaks and half, if not more are shorted an auto. This is the first one I've seen with no autos. Absolutely terrible.

People on reddit clown on folks for buying retail but are quiet in things like this. This is what keeps me from grabbing any hobby. I'll keep with retail and get skunked out of 100 on 3 blasters rather than 1k.
That was awful, but I also watched a FOTL box break that was shorted an auto and shorted a shimmer. Best card was a base Wemby. $1800 down the drain.

From my understanding breakers have recognized the serial number of the hits. If this is true those who buy breaks will not hit the hits, unless the breaker opens a full case on camera and lays out all the boxes. There is something with the last 3 digits of the serial number, that is all I have been told.

I also got 0 autos and my best card was a /175 white jimmy butler. Also my lowest numbered card. Me and my son have been saving for 7 months and I think we're about done with hobby.
Ya every box I've seen pulled has at least missing one if not 2 of the marquee items. Most are missing 1 auto, and a lot are even missing a fotl shimmer to add to it. Imagine paying all this money and getting shafted. Panini's demise can't come fast enough at this point.
Every pack I have brought this year absolutely sucked I got only one Wemby out of a donruss box and I never get any autos in a box! I’ve brought NBA hoops 2023-2024 blaster box and a 2023-2024 donruss box nothing but a box full of mostly base cards never buying another box again

First ever prizm hobby I’ve ever bought, every rookie color I got is in the G league now and my 2 autos were rookies I’ve never even heard of that are also in the g league. The ONE hit was a silver wemby luck of the lottery that was literally 80/20 on centering. I’m devastated bro lol
