Aluminum platters do not usually use platinum. The magnetic layer is iron /samerium cobalt alloy based on these. The glass ones are the ones that have platinum cobalt alloy.
Goldsmith/Master Jeweler here: there is no Part 2 because there is no Platinum. Yes and NO. what he doesn't want to admit is he lost all his platinum. we use this process to recover gold. many don't know how to do it even though the steps are similar. they throw it down the drain SMH... he should've done the whole process then uploaded LOL. OLE!
Over time and with high tempratures it will corrode glass. It's very little, but you should use cheap jars and not expensive glassware. The glass will be weaken so always be aware of that if you are going to use the same glassware later.
That is why I use the nickel crucible which never reacts with sodium hydroxide and so I use the molten sodium hydroxide for most applications and I should say that it is really the most useful method I found so far for precious metals recovery! It's practically the only way to dispose of all organic crap and destroy the silicon dies leaving gold and most other metals untouched!
@@Andy-hj6om and fusing stuff with sodium hydroxide in glass container is the most stupid thing a person can do!But in nickel crucible it's just one of the most useful methods of all used in precious metals recovery-at least in preparation for it!Because nothing else will eat all organics and silicon leaving gold and other precious metals untouched!
@@Andy-hj6om ua-cam.com/video/2bVXrx6UhnY/v-deo.html Here is a proof that it is really a good way!Sorry for the quality and length of the video but it is one of my first videos ever+it is just a demonstration;obviously I am propelling this process in completely different way:I do it on the electric stove which doesn't consume gas and I do it in a large nickel crucible which doesn't give a heck about fusing bases of all sorts inside it-and it's obviously effective only when working with large amounts of material.. Just definitely I guess that it is better to work with just metal that contains all your precious metals left after such treatment!I personally after that just smelt the metal remaining from each of them and so I don't get a boilover when I treat these beads with nitric..
Try .80c a pound you will get about 8$ for a 10 pound block at the scrap yard however if you polish a 10lb block up very nice then hammer a 10lb AU bullion stamp on it I have sold about 40 or 50 aluminum blocks with a nice stamp and polished up real nice for about 35$ to 45$ a piece it depends on the time i spend and the design i put on it the nice blocks of copper can go for alot on ebay u should check it out
Youd do better getting a metal forge and melting the aluminum and form a block there is less than .ooooo15 of a gram of platinum on them disks its less than a thin film

Ciao questi dischetti e platinum giusto

Pailatinuum hai in small one hardisk

Not platinum inside
doesn't sodium hydroxide cause corrosion of glass

@@johnsheppard1476 I will in no way say it's a good way to do it either way. Only answered if sodium hydroxide will corrode and weaken the glassware.
