Stacking is totally allowed. In the film Kick Boxer the reigning champion 'Tong Po' clearly dips his wraps into molten wax and then into broken glass and Van Damme doesn't kick up a fuss about it. If Van Damme thinks its OK then its OK.
Some commissions in the USA actually permit "stacking" though not many. It is actually very common in training wraps as well though most boxers wear bigger gloves when they spar compared to a bout. Tons of trainers put pre-wrap on and then put tape on the pre wrap THEN start the main wrap of gauze and then tape to cast it. Some commissions have crazy rules about wrapping hands but from wrapping hands myself, I think the standard gauze tape done works for everyone. It wouldn't shock me if in Spain that this is legal but I don't know. I have seen tons of kickboxers from Holland use this method too.

@@ryanwilkins7080 the commision sees everything thats why the wraps are signed and gloves once lace up also signed on the tape. There is a guy from the commision or board always in the ring between rounds checking the corners work

No nonsense Liam. U earned my respect pal. Even with the language barrier, both side were able to agree amicably. Respect to both parties
Language barrier come on he's only from Liverpool gone a bit far there .🤔
Did you just pay respect to the cheating team?
This trainer guy is a cheater. He took it off before the officials showed up. What a scammer
Great job with the transparency guys! You're filming bts stuff and when something like this happens, you got it all on tape. Some proper "two birds with one stone"-shit
THATS SOME BS BRO! By the way, I did a video on my channel which analyses how a fighter can beat "The Philly Shell" Defence... CHECK IT OUT!
More stupid is that there were no officials present while hands were being wrapped.
Well done liam 😃😃. Always like this guy 👊🏽
Well done Liam your a top top man
"OK, I take horseshoes out of gloves, I not trying to do anything illegal".
As a trainer, one of the first things you learn is how to wrap gloves and stacking is always told is illegal. Admittedly, the guy seemed genuinely surprised it was being questioned so I don't think he was cheating but it does make you wonder how many others don't know this simple rule.
By not knowing the rules in a professional setting, that is just as bad as cheating. Incredibly negligent.
He knew it was illegal which is why he cut it off and started again before the commission guys got there.
Everyone that has boxed should know how to wrap hands. First time I put gloves on I got showed how to wrap them correctly. He definitely knew what he was doing.
If you don't know how to wrap hands then you shouldn't do it.
for those who don't understand, you can wrap your hands in a way that can make your punches feel like concrete cinder blocks and can cause serious harm to the other fighter.
Could you explain exactly how it works?
This is allowed in Texas and Nevada so you’re saying you can punch with the equivalent of cinder blocks in those two states? Don’t act like you know more than you do.
@@notd0ll109 ok sir

Well done smith. Why where not the officials present from start of wrapping and then left immediately after then meeting to decide they were not legal ?
A very well spotted and respectful challenge from Liam!
"I taped his hand, brick then taped, wrench then taped and bowling ball then taped, I've done this in all his previous fights and never had any trouble"
So if Liam wasn’t there then they would’ve been fighting a title fight with illegal wraps? Surely there should be people hired specifically to make sure fighters and trainers are not cheating, people can get seriously hurt with illegal wraps and tampering. Shocked this video even gets published as it’s embarrassing that it takes a current boxer to call out cheating and not proper officials.
Each fighter has a member from his team in the opponents dressing room to watch the hands being wrapped so that no one cheats...that's what's happening here bro
The officials are supposed to watch the hand wrapping actually, and then sign off on it. Those old guys corrupt as hell.
@@maodijong3661 Na that's not correct I've literally just told you how it happens. The member from each fighters camp goes in the opponents changing room to watch them get wrapped.
@@jjfw4098 you dumb f%£##^ did i dispute that? However in a world sanctioned fight, a representative of the sporting body must also be present, they then sign the wrap and the gloves are put on. Anyway didnt mean to curse, im just straight gangster.
You act like stacking is a huge scandal lol. As other comments have pointed out, stacking is legal in many countries or states, depending on the region. So no stacking isn't going to kill anyone or make someone a massive cheat.
Liam knows his stuff there should have been a official person there watching too I would think 🤷🏻♂️
Liam and his family has been in multiple Championship fights...Im sure he knows what he is talking about...
Saying you've done it before, just means you weren't caught.
Well done to Liam!
On a side note: in addition to rep from opposing team, shouldn't there have also been a person from the commission overseeing the hand wrapping whilst it's happening?
Don't think so, it's up to the opposing team to monitor it
Yep a rep from the commission should also be there but in smaller fights sometimes there not so it up to other fights corner
He did well here bro and right. By the way, I did a video on my channel which analyses how a fighter can beat "The Philly Shell" Defence... CHECK IT OUT!
Think that's in las Vegas but not sure
..and judges also, not ? Kerman was robbed !! English mafia..
He just admitted they've been doing stacking in all of their previous professional fights. Wtf that should be an automatic disqualification.
Crazy eint it, people thought he had power but maybe it was just his hand wraps. I question all his wins now 🤔
@@amc599 exactly 💯. And him losing this fight with his punches having no effects proves it.
Because its legal in some places. Yall havent a clue lol.

Where the hell is the commission? They should be watching the hand wrap
This is 100% illegal but guess who was allowed to do it when he fought GGG? None other than Canelo, after GGG complained so much, the NSAC actually changed their rules for Canelo to allow stacking. What was ironic when Abel Sanchez confronted the inspector about the stacking, the inspector actually said "its not stacking what they did, only light stacking " wtf does that even mean? Beefy is a great of British boxing. He has never disappointed people inside and outside the ring. Chapeau!
How do you know? His missus might never orgasm
Stacking is totally allowed. In the film Kick Boxer the reigning champion 'Tong Po' clearly dips his wraps into molten wax and then into broken glass and Van Damme doesn't kick up a fuss about it.
If Van Damme thinks its OK then its OK.
A trainer who doesn't observe the opponent's hand wrapping is committing malpractice.
Check you out judge rinder
I like that Liam let the other guy explain himself to the officials and didn't butt in at any point.
Well done for standing his ground
Does anyone know why its illegal to stack? Is it something about uaving the extra padding?
It has to do with the moisture that the gauze absorbs. It hardens and then basically turns the wraps into a knuckle duster
Nice one! Liam takes no BS.
The look on that fighters face when he realized he wasn't get stacked was golden. There is a clear, valid reason for this.
Which is ?
You can see why he was stacking his hand is fooked
Of course he knew exactly what he was doing and will do it again in the future where other coaches don't look out enough for their fighters
He’s right you can’t stack.
If he thought what he was doing was legal thrn why did he take it off after being confronted. Surely if he thinks he's in the right he'd stick to his guns. Knew he'd been rumbled.

Its more complicated than that, several regions and organizations allow different forms of wrapping bandages, there are some states in the US such as Nevada that does allow stacking on the wraps, while Texas does not.
He knew it was illegal and they were trying it on. You can see how mangled the guys hand is probably from multiple hand fractures, which is why they were stacking for added protection.

Not broken, just a contusion. If anything, it’s probably just permanently like that from years of hitting things with his hands. A lot of boxers have it.
Floyd Mayweather was famous for having that bump also.
That’s a hand that’s been busted a few times… might even be damaged there tbh, I don’t think they were deliberately trying to break rules, they’ve just fought under different bodies and officials.
