I miss "legacy teams". I wanna play 1959 Dodgers VS the 1972 A's. Weird shit.
A team vault would be great to have and a mode where you can actually use them in. Season mode would be great to have again at least let us do it in playoff mode.
Should be normalized for every sports game everyone agrees it’s a good idea 😂
These were never in MLB the Show
There's an old baseball manager sim from the early 90s that lets you manage games between a bunch of the all-time greats. Wish I could remember what it was called.
If it weren't for these card collection modes we would be able to get classic teams. Only NBA 2K has classic teams in the game.
I’ve played over 1,000 hours for each game since MLB 20. I’m at just under 300 hours in 24 and haven’t played since Season 2 ended. I’m not sick of the game but I am sick of the same old grind and losing cards I have earned. I’ll come back for Finest, but I have been pretty unhappy this year with what I am getting for what I paid.
SAME! I've played call of duty twice as much this year than I ever have in years past.
I would play 1000 mp games before the end of April. Over the last few years I have drastically cut my playing time to around 500 gamez for the entire season!!
I HATE DD!! HATE IT!! No skill needed! I don't pay for shiii!°
Same man
The same, I did quit in June
I play franchise or ROTS. Expecting fun from Diamond Dynasty is just dumb honestly. Playing somebody online couldn't get further from an authentic baseball game simulation. The game is good just the ultimate team portion is trash always was always will be just like for every sports game
They need a fuckin dark mode, 2 am franchise gm sessions might as well be military flashbang training
Fr
Lmfao on goddddd
This can’t be stressed enough like what were they thinking making everything all white
Turn your console to night mode
Real shit
They really need a graphics overhaul. This is by far the worst looking sports game. Still using PS3 graphics with 4k resolution and use animations/cut scenes from PS2 989 game with Eric Chavez on cover It's pathetic.
This is one thing I don't see enough people talking about. The game looks like an early Xbox One game from 2014
Super Mega Baseball 3 literally looks better 😂
@@chris42069I thought I could Change it nope no visual/video settings 😂😂
Glad I'm not the only one thinking this.. These muhf***as necks look SCARY AS HEEELLLL when they're running it out to first base
this is really not talked about and youre so right. they need to ditch the old gen consoles soon and really focus in on maximizing the games potential with focusing on PS5/series X
Is it just me, or the last year's game had better graphics? MLB 24 looks horrible.
I miss the glory days of mlb the show 21
It’s the best one. 22 they took away TA. 23 introduces sets…and now 24 with sets and a power creep. Fn trash
@@StevenEatsAlone will the show ever be the same again
I thought 17 was the best I had neikro and Tiant to beat the sweats
@@MonsterMushhead I didnt play before 21. A lot of us Xbox users started there
Absolutely the best
Honestly locking cards out after seasons are over ruined it for me I thought it was a great idea at first but knowing I can’t use the cards I grind for or may have paid for are restricted and it’s just a pain in the ass to have to keep grinding all year to get better 99 cards
Sets and seasons was their way of saying "we don't have the rights to a lot of players/legends so sets and seasons allows us to make the same players with different overalls, throughout the year."
Road to the show is so terrible. I hit 150 home runs and broke every season hitting record, and they still only wanted me to sign for the minimum. After that, I never booted the game up again. What’s the point?
Ikr you finally finish a few seasons of putting up the most ridiculous stats and winning WS you get no money lol
I mean I pay all my guys the minimum in franchise mode for as long as I can… In the MLB you won’t have any leverage until you hit arbitration at the earliest.
Road to the show has no depth and it used to be my favorite mode. They tried to act like the draft combine was something “new” but it literally was just taken away for no apparent reason and brought back with LITERALLY no changes 😭. How much is it for me to ask for on field BP from a coach before games, or batting in batting cages off a tee or something. Just no development at all 🤦♂️
@@TossGawd your first arbitration year you jack up the demand and you take them to the cleaners. I always win my case.
They don't have to pay in the renewal years why would they? It's not like the money means anything anyway
If you're breaking every record and hitting 150 bombs I have an idea get off rookie difficulty
I've put THOUSANDS of hours into MLBTS diamond dynasty since '18. I came over from MUT after years of abuse from EA. I LOVED everything about MLBTS. It was easily my favorite game. I played every game into late November early December until '23. I stopped playing the first week of August. Sets/Seasons killed my desire to keep playing. I quit '24 the day Season 2 started. I have ZERO desire to keep starting over and rebuilding my team on SDS's schedule. It's my fucking team. I either grinded my ass of for the cards OR spent actual money on them. The thought that they have a 2-3 month arbitrary shelf life is ridiculous. Add to that the grind is completely monotonous. There is nothing new or exciting about the grind. At least with the old power creep I was constantly upgrading my team. Going from 99 overalls to 89's and starting that same exact grind over 3 months after the game released is asinine. On top of the horrendous copy/paste grind, there are not nearly enough players/legends for this type of model. I will NEVER play this game again as long as sets/seasons or whatever bullshit name change they try next year remains.
Ur a idiot for playing those modes you people are what's wrong with why sports games have gone to shit
Wow. Are you me? Literally how I feel to a tee !!!!! I got into DD in ‘20 and it’s just beyond stale as well with the game modes too. Doesn’t even matter what year the game is, it’s the SAME THING. I made a comment just before but yours is much better than mine and much shorter. 😂.
I stopped playing about a week or two before s2 ended. I just feel like just turning the game on just brings negative energy to me and it’s killed my desire to continue playing the game because I genuinely love playing baseball but I don’t love the grind anymore.
If it’s not on next gen…I will NOT buy this game
I totally agree and will not buy 25 unless sets and seasons are gone
I want a 9 inning casual mode online that doesn't count towards my record where I can use whatever cards I want. I want this mode to count towards xp and parallel progress.
I want a 9 inning online mode where I don't have to try hard but improve on the game.
Right now it takes like 5 mins or longer to get into a casual game. I'd like to relax and play people online and maybe play a game where I just sit on outside pitches and practice hitting the ball the other way the whole game.
Practice mode is fine but not the same as having a randomized opponent with the lag you'll encounter in ranked.
Also would be more inclined to use random Pitchers opposed to trying to have a top 5 god squad pitcher each game
Love this comment.
This would just be a quit fest. If there is nothing to play for then people wont play.
@@wilsonknight4715 I've played 30 ranked games and the overwhelming majority are quits...I've played prob 10 casual and they tend to last longer. I disagree tho, currently casual does not provide any xp path progress nor does it help with parallels. If they allowed you to parallel players you like and get xp path progress I think it would be a solid mode...maybe it gets exploited by people connecting with friends or something.
Events are quit fest, plus they're 3 innings. You can't really learn your opponents tendencies that quick especially when pitchers are switched out every inning.
“ i want to be able to do nothing and still get the same rewards as if i won” i get were your coming from but it’s not gonna happen straight up like this
your first statement they have in the game already
So all this boils down to is, Ultimate Team modes suck by design. The entire game mode is designed to be a grind to slowly unlock better players over the course of a year hidden behind thinly veiled "challenges". And the complaints seem to be "don't make it top easy to get 99s but don't make it too hard".
Why is there a grind at all? They should just give you the card to use on your team for that week. Like he's a Hank Aaron legend card, have fun playing some moments of his career and using him on your team. Next week it'll be someone else etc.
Players who want to complete all the challenges will do so anyway, if the content is good. More casual players who don't have time to grind all the content and challenges etc, they don't have to but still get to enjoy the cards.
Show is over. MLB the show must change. every year same game.
And people keep buying it. That's the problem. As long as suckers continue to fall for the obvious scam, MLB Show games will continue to be made with zero effort to make them different from the previous installments.
@@1977TA @FC25-n3p You guys are right. We need to boycott games like The Show and Madden. It's the only choice we have when these games have no competition. They hold all of the cards and make as good or bad as a game as they want.
I've been playing since the show 12. I am a franchise mode player. Things have to change. It's beyond stale. People complain Madden never changes. The show is sadly on par with it. I am done until changes are made
Dude I've been playing since mlb the show 09. Since I was a kid. The OGs are almost always franchise players, me as well, and it's so dn frustrating how neglected the mode is every year. It's the same thing every single year. Awards don't make sense, player progression doesn't make sense, it's the same graphics and features for the last 5 years... there's so many things that could be added that would make the mode feel new and fun but they don't do it. All they care about is making money now
It was the most obvious fall off ever. Right when they revealed the “seasons” gimmick, I knew the game was going to be terrible. First time I skipped on buying it in almost 10 years. I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to implement “99 cards from the jump then you can’t use them a month later!”. Honestly braindead from them
Sets and seasons are killing the game. Idk how SDS doesnt realize that
Sounds like any other sports genre or game company (EA, 2k). Why is this surprising to anyone?
I had to call out one day because I had stayed up all night playing OG road to the show. Sad to see that the franchise has plateaued.
I stop playing after sets and season 2 it’s worse
Bring back MLB21 mode
I believe next year will be better because it has to be on next-gen only
The thought of grinding any more TA, Conquest, or Moments truly haunts my dreams. Just the same cycle over, and over, and over, and over. There are so many great games out there and such little time to play them. I would rather play games that respect my time.
The game never changes and its not worth any of our time
Since MLB 17 I use to play this game from release to next release daily. But 24, quit back in June. Seems like whoever took over in 24 has no idea what they are doing when it comes to DD. No coincidence you don't see Ramone and the old crew anymore like you use to with previous games. The gameplay is great in 24, probably the best, but DD is the worst.
I agree with your point about having your players eligible for any team/franchise they've played for. I want to see Reggie Jackson and Rod Carew and Nolan Ryan and Chili Davis all playing for the Angels without having to collect 40 live series Angels (I JUST got Trout a few days ago). The only other Nolan Ryan card I had collected before completing the collect of Angels was an Astros OOP Outfielder. I think the OOP concept is cool, but can I get a card where Konerko is playing for the Dodgers and isn't limited to his OOP card positions? Can I get an Arenado card for the Rockies where he isn't pitching or that I don't have to sit through 100 games of BR or Events before I can earn it? When you talked about fielding, can Gold and Diamond fielders NOT make the idiotic plays, like dropping routine flyballs or missing foul pop-ups. Durability scores mean nothing when your pitcher takes a 107 MPH exit velocity liner off the schnoz, picks up the ball, and throws a strike to first to get Trea Turner for a ground out, then finishes a no-hitter when another screamer bounces off his dome to the SS who completes a double play. The "legends" are becoming more and more of the guys who just recently left the game and less and less of the "old guys" that this game was built to remind you of and allowed you to compare your heroes of the past with the guys that there is little to no film on: Ty Cobb, Ted Williams, Jimmie Foxx, Christy Mathewson, Walter Johnson, Lefty Grove... all gone? Still more players that don't want to be in the game or aren't allowed to be in the game, nobody is sure which it is? Bo Jackson was a great football AND Baseball player. If EA isn't making a baseball game, SDS should be able to approach him and offer him a deal IMO.
As for stadium creator, we need more dedicated memory for the stadiums, or items that require less memory and are more practical. We don't need two versions of the same building, one with graffiti and one without. How about a dozen or two random cars and trucks that people would have driven for different eras. Maybe a '57 Chevy-looking vehicle for the 60s era stadium builds, for instance. Props like picnic tables that have fans sitting at them, canoes with people kneeling or paddling, vendors dressed like vendors to work behind the counters of shops or carts so that mom doesn't have to bring her 6-yr-old daughter to work the beer stand and the two kids who stole your newspaper on Sunday aren't working the steakhouse on Friday night. It would also be cool if the generic fans in the stands could instantly be switched to the era of your ballpark just by selecting the year of the stadium, but that's a pipe-dream.
I really liked the unlockables packs that contained the uniforms for all five division teams in the same pack. Something that has always ticked me off is how much you have to do to earn basic stuff like uniforms and stadiums at the beginning of the game. Earning them as a group is cool. The old ball parks should be earned similarly. More of those would be nice as well. Ebbett's Field, The L.A. Coliseum, Older Anaheim Stadium (pre-Disney), The Astrodome, Candlestick Park, Olympic Stadium... some of them still exist, others were leveled for parking, others should have been a long time ago, but they all held baseball. Rather than giving us pre-built stadiums with dinosaurs or UFOs, why not bring back some old relics of the past where some of us watched our first games, took dates, or even played a few times.
These are just a few changes I'd like to see. I agree that there are too many cards for the same players with similar attributes, or attributes that are dumbed-down in some areas for HR Derby so they can boost their power without making a first-round departure a 99 overall, but if Shohei has 90+ speed in his live series card, he shouldn't have to drop to 80 speed when his power rises over 100 for his HR Derby card. It's the same guy. He either has it or he doesn't.
How is it possible that I, a casual mlb the show player hops on the game, be it rtts or dd, and I can even find little things and additions, or audio tracks they could’ve made that would’ve made the game more playable and fun. This is just common practice for video games nowadays and it’s becoming a cancer tot he community to just give the bare minimum and repackaging it as something new and exciting.
As a gamer who doesn't play online, I would appreciate a fully customizable Franchise mode similar to NHL. It's nice to use your own custom teams but I'd like to see more customization where you can decide how many teams are in your league, how many divisions, etc... There are already custom leagues for online play so I can't imagine it would be that big of an overhaul. Maybe I'm in the minority since a lot of gamers seem to love playing Diamond Dynasty with the whole card collecting.
There's alot to improve on, but one of the most basic is, please put more legends into the game. SDS you make millions of dollars every year, off of us, please use some of that money to get us more players to play/use, cuz we know you're not using it on your servers.
whatever happened to the career missions that gave you a shit ton of stubs from MLB 17, always gave you a reason to play the game, and having the end game goal of getting that 99 Griffey
I used to play the show for many years, since the game first came out and then I took time off it for a few years roughly. Came back for 2024 and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit, I just really dislike the seasons… so crazy to me that you do all that grinding just to not be able to use the new players you got the next season! When is the final season?
Really all sports games have become soulless cash grabs. The price to use the major sports licenses is so high that all these companies do is prioritize online pay to win content. The game itself is secondary to the cash grab. Sports games are largely dead
That's what's funny about mostly all games having a set price point. The fact that games like Elden Ring and Madden cost the same is wild.
Great video, you hit the nail on the head for the casual gamer, as much as I love baseball and MLB The Show, I haven’t bought the game for two years now. Done with it. The Grind is unbearable. Just can’t do it anymore. The game made me feel I had to keep up on the programs and getting the best cards to be able to compete. Moved on to GT7 and have not looked back!
Honest question. How is a baseball sim supposed to change that much from year to year? Community shifted in all sports games to being obsessed with DD and UT and it has completely killed the offline modes
How much more can a baseball game improve. In terms of gameplay its almost flawless. I think the problem is we get the same players every year and same programs. Sds should make an effort in getting new players that r not currently in the game bonds alomar bo arod ect… thats the only way it can make it exciting for 2025!
They desperately need new game modes for reward. Mini tournaments, 6 inning games, multiple events every week
No it’s the terrible rental sets and seasons plus playing a “next gen” game that looks like a ps3 game. This game w sets and seasons is a 2/10 complete failure.
Locking each season’s cards from one season to the next was brutal, the regular packs were bogus, no reward in that at all.
Playing the multiplayer was absolutely no fun at all, BS pitching sucks for the non-professional gamers. Frustrating as hell.
Im a RTTS player and im beyond disappointed with its lack of any depth being added. For 1 the draft combine that they acted like was new this year is literally a thing that was taken away for no reason.
2. Why can’t I still take batting practice from a coach on the field before games (at all levels) or have a batting cage and hit off a machine or like a tee.
I could list so many wants but don’t have the effort anymore because it’s been years
SDS thinks that everyone has 2-3 hours to put in the game every day, then play 5-6 hours every weekend. Nobody REALLY wants to spend their weekends grinding out the show ONLY for them to say “ayyyy we can’t let you use these cards in 4 days, 12 hours, but continue trying to grind for parallels and upgrades”
Nothing made me more sad than not being able to use all my P5 cards from season 1 in the middle of the damn summer.
Professional baseball spirits 2024-2025 is what the game should look like, but they wont bother updating the engine. Sets ruined diamond dynasty. Franchise has been a joke for years. I don't think ill even bother next year. What's the point?
24 is one of the worst sports games I’ve played on PS5. No creativity in development. They rely on people buying packs in order to make money. They don’t care about the user at all. Unfortunately, it won’t improve because it’s the only baseball video game on the market. They know people will spend money regardless and they’ll push people toward that game mode. I don’t see the series getting better next year and I wouldn’t be surprised if it remains the same. There’s no reason the game should look like it did 10 years ago with the same animations. It’s insulting that we pay $60+ every year for the same game. The series has definitely hit rock bottom at this point.
You should be a baseball announcer. Perfect voice. I only play franchise mode and I love it. I love the game play I love the realism I love the sim. I love how AI knows all historical stats. I hit 300th homer with freeman and it was recognized and he had a curtain call. 1st hits are recognized. And lots of other cool things the announcers recognize. I do want to see locker room celebrations added. Some on field postgame interviews and Gatorade showers, and some press conference stuff. This would complete the realism IMO. I love this game more than any other baseball game I’ve ever played.
I made it all the way through Season 2 and then quit. I mentally could not keep going. I heard Season 3 has been fun but I just can't......
It really hasn't. It's easier to get to Aaron but there are only 3 season awards programs and two others. If you don't play BR you'll never get a set pack
Wouldn't it be rad if MLB 2K were still around, if only for the sake of giving these guys some much-needed competition? It's pathetic how all three "major" US sports (football, baseball, basketball) are monopolized on the video game front (Madden, NBA 2K, MLB: The Show). Remember when once upon a time we actually had options?
I can't believe its 2024 and we are still doing the whole yearly sports game thing. Its the main reason I didnt play 23 and just now started playing 24 since its on PS Plus. Either drop the price or release the $70 game every other year.
I’m asking SDS for one simple thing to “Show” they care. Let us filter by position for our bench and DH spots. It’s not difficult, they let us filter by position elsewhere, just not there. Cmon SDS!
This is my first MLB game and I'm playing the game because it was on the PS plus free monthly games and
Opening packs to upgrade my player in the RTTS doesn't make sense to me.
They somehow managed to be more predatory than EA
SDS have to remember they have other models not just Diamond Dynasty!
Remember when they had sets for each type of card? Prime, Allstar, Rookie, even a Core collection. I guess I enjoyed the collections the most. Now we just have set 1 and 2 with 400 cards each, and there are not even enough cards for set 3. I have not played in over two weeks, and this is primetime baseball season with playoffs around the corner.
I dont want to unlock wild spots to just have two players play together
I’ve always grinded offline and single player DD. Gameplay has not changed in years. It feels like it’s been the same since 2010 with minor tweaks. I still am enjoying the game but think the number of collections in DD are very limited. Too many topps now too tbh
I remember coming back from a hard time in life, I bopped on the ultimate team shit to see that my team I had no longer was there, never touching those game modes ever again😂
I can’t even play an exhibition game with a friend I invite them and ready up stays locked and says disconnected and kicks everyone
I miss the days of 550 hours on the show 21. Barely hit 100 this year and haven’t touched it since college football came out
21 was the goat. and remember it was during the pandemic so a lot of us were working at home and that game was our savior
@@gamernorcal I was in middle school and it was my first diamond dynasty grind. Got it a month after release and played through November. Sucks to see the falloff
personally i cant stand how its the SAME music in the menu... SAMEEEE exact layout and style of road to the show. like its redundant.
The game is boring and repetitive. Crazy it’s not on next gen. SMH. They are sinking so low is a shame
Stopped playing week one and for me it was the inability to use my road to the show guy in DD, I understand it can get a bit sweaty w/ pitchers but for me that was just a core playing point. Being able to utilize my self as a card alongside my favorite players was the best and they just missed the mark on a lot this year. Hoping for a lot of change in 25
I miss being able to play moments on the easy setting
This game is free on PlayStation plus now. That says a lot, 23’ wasn’t on plus until after October. Is it worth it?
Always a play till December or later type of guy, but this year I stopped playing after season 1. They aren't going to devalue my time like that.
I only play RTTS in the game. I have so many packs unopened. Not opening things I'll never use
Tbh sets and seasons is the reason why i quit playing dd among other things but ultimatley i didnt purchase an mlb the show for the first time ever this year because of the neglect to franchise.
I cant stand the seasons format and I don’t think they’ve even “put duct tape over it” as he said in the video; I play mlb the show casually but enough to build up a decent squad by the end of the season, I still only have 1 wild card slot open and it feels like I damn near have to become a streamer to have the amount of time to even get one more wild card slot unlocked. If they’ve put any kind of tape over it I think scotch tape would be generous
As a casual player I’ve had a bunch of problems with this game. For one they have to fix the umpires. I play the show to enjoy baseball, not be held back by the umpires which are arguably worse than their real life counterparts. My next problem is that they need to nerf the cpu making hall of fame plays or catches almost every time. My next problem is the seasons. I completely agree, why grind for a card that’s going to be completely irrelevant in a couple of weeks? It makes no sense. Let the players use the cards that they grinded for whenever they want for whatever team they want. It’s just a massive grind fest that is not fun to play. As a college student I don’t have time to grind out hundreds of thousands of xp just for that card to become irrelevant in a couple of weeks.
I used to always look forward to this game coming out. I'm usually an offline player due to not having a whole lot of time to play. With that being said, sadly I uninstalled this game not even after a month of it being out. This game sadly is falling into the same category of Madden for me. It's sad but if I purchase 25 it will simply be out of habit & not the excitement that I used to have when this game dropped.
Casual MLB player here and strict NMS. First time buying the game in a few years… quit shortly after season 2 started. Team resetting with the new season coupled with the fact that the game is HARD in any online mode did it for me. Might try again next year depending how frustrating madden is around next years launch.
I feel like there’s not enough cards for each teams. I only have Vladdy I can use as a jays fan.
Imagine a world, where there are no in game transactions, no yearly game release if there are no new features and yearly free updates on the roster and new kits for sports games. AND especially letting an older console generation finally die…it’s a joke! We could have a way better looking game by now.
Personally, I really loved the first 2 seasons of The Show. The packs were alright, collecting all the core cards for Babe Ruth was fun, and the seasonal progression to get the HOF cards felt rewarding. But now that it's season 3 I just feel like the game is a little burnt out for me at this point. Now I have all the core cards so I have a solid core team, but I just don't want to go through the entire grind AGAIN just to get back to my 99 ovr team. I understand it's a business though and there might be some people that got on the game later than others. I just think that the structure makes it hard for players who've been playing since the release date to enjoy it as much as someone who got the game maybe 1-2 months ago. Realistically though, the mechanics and gameplay will always make the game fun to me, but it's just not worth grinding anymore.
I still play the show 20. I don't need to be online to play franchise or RTTS.
Have yall noticed how it doesn’t tell you after each game how many stubs and xp you earned ? Thought it was jst because it was franchise mode but no even in diamond dynasty smh
I’m probably in a small group of players but I really enjoy the stadium creator mode. I’ve spent more time than I care to admit. I would be willing to pay a little bit for additional props and memory for stadiums. Maybe the can incorporate that into diamond dynasty and have a competition for top created stadiums
I started on The Show 20 RTTS I decided to try Diamond Dynasty recently... Wtf is all of this I got cards I've set a decent team but about 5 of those cards are never played I had no idea why or which cards were causing a problem and every card I've earned this season it seems so how do I have cards that are not eligible for the current season?
I had to come to this video on UA-cam to find out it's because of a season system
I'm also from the UK I know the rules of baseball I know how the league works I don't know it enough to make sense of Diamond Dynasty
Honored to have my tweet used in this video, very well said, sets and seasons, and not letting us use the cards we earn for no good reason HAS TO GO!
The idea i got watching this was why not have manager cards instead of captains. this way you can have an excuse to give any player in that teams history the boost.
Sets killed this game for me last year. When I heard it was changing to sets and season, I saved my $70
Doing away with being able to purchase Jordan or nike equipment was the first bad move. Then they expected us to spend our money to try to get those items or card then sell them like u said.
Sports games are literally a gaming „drug“ addiction by now.
We need more variety in content. The same players get released over and over. As an Astros fan, every year the good Astros cards are biggio, bagwell, Richard, Oswalt, and if they feel like giving them to us Ryan and Wagner. Every collection, every team affinity is always those guys. Then sometimes we'll have a guy who is on the team currently, but almost never guys who used to play for us. It's exhausting.
Does anyone know if you can still unlock more wild card slots? I get busy during the summer so I wasn't able to play enough to unlock many of the slots and now I feel like I'm screwed with not being able to use them.
This year was the worst in recent memory I love playing baseball game but I stopped playing this well before the all star game
Honestly I didn’t have time to grind diamond dynasty at the start and now I feel so behind and playing play now is a bore compared to DD
They need to add more to diamond dynasty ive literally done everything but overall ive loved the game
They changed their rollout strategy after college football released and it was obvious. That’s unacceptable.
It all comes down to us having to buy more and more stubs. I won’t do that so I just play less and less.
I love a lot of the things that you brought up in this video. It needs to be said and the game feels dead.... even before the playoffs... which is insane to say. Like JOEY SWOLL's Always says... SDS YOU NEED TO DO BETTER! As gamers, we all miss the days when there weren't monopolies by each studio on each sports. Competition inspires creativity. Madden, 2k, and the Show... know that we have no where else to go and that's completely unfair and unjust in a world of drive and inspiration. Would anyone make great youtube videos if there was only one channel for each topic???
I would say ABOVE ALL of my complaints of this years release is the absolute lack of CREATIVITY in the releases. ARE THERE ABSOLUTELY NO BASEBALL FANS THAT WORK FOR SDS STUDIO??? Does nobody in their studios actually play this game? The MLB has been around for over 100 years... and to see every single season the same players be dropped with different ratings over and over and over again. It makes me sooo bored and upset. I'm a life long Dodger fan and have so many Dodger favorites. Yes, I love the current dodgers players. But I don't need a new Shohei or Freddie Freeman every season. Where are the Adrian Gonzalez, Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp, Andre Eithier, Eric Karros, Raul Mondesi, Hideo Nomo, Albert Pujols... I could go on forever. But I will leave It to a few. That's literally just off the top of my head and that's only for the Dodgers. I just feel like every pack and every season it's the same guys. Why would I use a 97 Freddie Freeman when I had a 99 last year? It doesn't make any sense at all.
I understand what they were trying to do with the seasons... by trying to give people something to play and grind for. But It's broken. There's no reason I should be bored out of my mind from playing this game before the playoffs. I normally wait for the playoffs to end when they drop the forever program, then switch to 2k and wait for the next release. Since 2k has even worse issues, I can't stand to play It longer than 3-4 months.
Overall... Players want variety!! Players want excitement!! There is almost none of that in this years game. Co-op is fun... but It's literally the same boring grind every season. The rewards path never changes... there's no events type concept. Where you are required to use different players or cards. Events has SOOOO much potential and they find a way to make It boring. Battle Royale is even worse.
Screw them greedy bastards. I still play '19.
Why can’t they do something similar with the neighborhood in 2k but call it the sandlot because who doesn’t love that movie. I don’t know how they can design it to be fun but I would be really looking forward into playing something like that.
Jumped back into this game hadn’t played anything since 22. Just to go to DD set my team up and not be able to use 80% of the cards I earned doing offline stuff to give me a chance in my first ranked game. Deleted it immediately when I saw the bs seasons only cards and “wildcards”. L game.
Wanted to come back and play the game because I saw there was a 99 Chipper Jones - only to find I can’t earn him because he was in S2 XP path. Immediate turn off
You hit the nail on the head with RTS mode
Hey gomes? Do you do live streams in the show? If so I'd like to check them out
Last mlb game I played was mlb 20 and the only reason i played 24 was cause of the free PlayStation game of the month and platinumed the game in 2 days and i found it pretty easy for a new player to make a good team online pretty quickly and had some fun but I haven’t played in a week and uninstalled but it was fun when I played it
haven’t played since like the 2nd week of the game it’s been so bad
if it wasn't for MLB being available for free on Gamepass, i wouldn't have played this year. That said, i didn't even bother with the programs and cards after S1, went to franchise mode and had a ton more fun. Even with that, i stopped playing altogether by about the AS break. And honestly, if there's no major changes to the offline stuff for 25, i won't even bother playing.
I tried so hard to keep myself interested but stopped playing at the end of July
I can’t even finish a franchise season 😢
Can’t remember when they made the change, but you used to be able to collect, then quick sell cards and items. I’m not about to grind to collect a card I’ll never use, and can’t even quick sell for a few stubs. It has been downhill ever since. They should have embraced no money spent - especially since all other sports titles are pay2win - but they definitely didn’t.
Honestly I’ve been out the game for a few years now and I’m shocked to see this kind of content from Gomes. It must’ve really gone downhill 😮
At this point I don't play ranked any more because you cannot get a full game in most times. I started a franchise just to get my baseball fix but I'm cool on the online thing until I can use my all cubs team without restrictions! I long for the days of a 9 month power creep! Still love the game but they need to do better in many ways!
My one big wish for SDS and this game - for all players that have a Diamond Live Series card, create one gold version and one diamond version of their card and have all the diamond versions be 92+ overall. Getting a Diamond in a pack now is so anti-climactic because you know it’s going to be a useless 85-87 overall. With my idea, it gives casual players who can’t grind every season’s content a way to field a competitive team throughout the games lifecycle. It will also make pulling a diamond actually exciting again, too.
I agree completely Gomes. I suggest we do not buy the game next year then. If they get a -30% order for next year, they might start thinking about it. There’s no other way
It seem that most, if not all sports video games have this problem
I've been playing since MLB 20. Pre-ordered each version and enjoyed them. Played every day. MLB 24 is the first version I've just stopped playing - didn't even finish Season 2, and haven't played since. I will not be pre-ordering MLB 25 unless either I see huge changes - or - I might get the twinge if there is a huge sale a couple months into the new cycle.
I quit playing back in June. Maybe even late May.
20 and 21 were the last I preordered or had on release day.
I played 22 and 23 but got then on sale around maybe All Star break.
Didnt even try to get 24 but it came out as a monthly game on PS+
Be nice if they do SOMETHING with 25.
