Patients sometimes wonder how to clean the inside of the machine itself, but this isn’t recommended by the manufacturer, because air is simply moving through- the internal parts of the machine do not need to be cleaned.
However, you can change the rubber gasket that sometimes gets worn out. Ask your CPAP company to order that part for you.

Okay but I'm pretty sure there is mold in the interior of mine. I thoroughly cleaned everything on the outside, the tube, the mask etc. Even in humidifier bay. Still get a musky odor at startup into my nose and sore throat/runny nose after use.

Same here. My machine was stored on end with water in it for a month or so (not by my, long story). Don’t know if mold or what exactly, but a musty odor that makes me not want to even try using it until I’ve cleaned it.

Resmed says to clean the inside weekly. They even have a video on UA-cam showing how to disconnect the internal hose connector.

'because air is simply moving through' But what if the inside becomes a source for bacteria/mold growth. Could that area not act as a pathogen reservoir? I'm curious how it is determined no pathogens could build up in the inner workings of the machine? what am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Anyway to blow out filter side? My air curve 10 has developed a whining noise. You mentioned in another video about dust build up.

Hi Eddy, with this issue there isn't much you can do but if it is still under warranty you can send it in for repair or if it is over 5 years old you can check with your insurance about getting a new one😀

Am smelling mildew or mold in mine, quite strongly. It's not the reservoir or tubing. I got strong sunlight on it to see an saw a lot of white stuff on the walls all inside the left hand pipe, inside the machine. (That must blow air out of the machine? My airsense 10 is black, maybe a different model?) Regardless, I see white stuff up inside the machine and smell mold. Must I take it to the facility 1.5 hours away and leave it for days (they are extremely slow)? Days without it would be very bad for my health conditions.

Question though. I got water from pharmacy, distilled, so thought was fine, seemed fine so put in. Then I realized after running for a bit an odor, then realized the distilled water was pretty much at expiration, so it is years old. So, now I worry about bacteria and such inside the machine, in that removable piece and the air channel intake, etc. So.... is it gonna be safe? I used a clean cloth to wipe the heat plate but didnt do more in the humidifier chamber. Cause wasnt wanting to mess anything up. So... did I just mess up doing that? Or will it be contaminated from wiping that inside? I just worry about bronchitis from bipap/cpap use, I have got it in past before due to contamination from something or other. I now got no distilled water, and have to use Aquafina again. But like... do you pop out that piece and wash it too? or is that a big no with the machine? Or dry wipe the inside if any water residue in it of the humidifier chamber? I used a fresh laundered piece of clothing from my laundry. And yes, I have OCD, and am germaphobic so... I worry a lot. Also, my supplier told me to never touch that removable part and it was fine. I used last machine for like 3 or 4 years and never changed it which explains a lot. I JUST got this machine and now I worry I messed it up big time.

Hi there, we are sorry to hear about what you have been going through with your device. Let's see if we can help.
Distilled water was an awesome choice. It sounds like you got a bad batch.
However, because the CPAP is a one-way only valve, you don't have to worry about anything going into the machine.
However, we do suggest getting new supplies (hose, filters, mask) if you feel like the there is an odor or if they could have been contaminated.
The inside of the machine does not need to be cleaned at all, because it only puts pressure out and nothing comes into the device. We hope that helped.

I changed to an n30 mask. After several days, I keep getting build up of water in my tubing and my nose piece. And the machine starts making a horrible noise. Have looked at your videos, and can't find anything. Could you tell me how to fix this?

Hi Anna, can you clarify something for us. Do you have an N30 or an N30i?
