Thank you so much for videos. They are all absolutely brilliant and very helpful. And your advice is probably the most to be trusted on the web. Awesome. Please keep up the great content
Imagine we will see a new version of the G90 in 2024 as we have just seen a new tournament pole released. It’s been out 5yrs +. Shimano X5 is also a great pole for the money. Good update. Great to see Maver back at the top with their new ranges of poles. Stronger than before and built for commercial fishing 🎣!
Great vid. It doesn't really matter if people totally agree with your choices or not, as its down to opinions. It does give people a great starting point when searching for a new pole. Thanks for the time and effort you put into this.
Just got the MTX 2 V 2, 14.5 meter for £840.00 from Apollo Angling at Marsh Farm in Surrey. Added Grey long no1, extra top2, 5 x Duraslip Elastic for an additional £150.00.
Ben I always watch your videos they are always informative and easy listening 👍 would you consider doing a video on how best to ship up and down with 16 metre pole. I always get in a pickle trying to break down the pole into two lengths (when there’s little room behind me) with a good size carp thrashing around 👍 if it’s a little difficult to explain that’s ok
Hi ben great vid as always, which would you pick the preston x50 or the map 501 3g , i have always liked map tackle now looking at these 2 poles to upgrade my old pole. Keep up the great vuds mate cheers
great video Ben, hopefully see a video review of new Shimano poles. It would be good to see group test of poles at similar price next to each other. I'm looking at G90, MV R2, Aero X5, and Superium X70 all similar price but need to try them all.
Hi Ben. Great vids as always im in a major dilema. Im after a new pole roughy £700-£1500 but every review on matrix preston etc are all mixed to the point there all no good. Map hae got the 601 3g for £1300 which is a bargain but i know they have a new range. Looking at X50 but very mixed reviews. Tough one bt what would your personal go to be out of them??? Any other recomends be great also. John👍
Ben, on some of your videos it sounds like your saying you are at Hayton Lakes. I know this venue but where you are doesn’t look familiar, where is it your actually fishing at when your sat in the enclosed style pegs?
Thanks for the videos there frill can you give me your Opinion I'm looking for a 13m pole for 500 I've narrowed it down to 3 preston superium x10 middy reactacore xt15-3 13.5 and mtx1 v2 I fish on Commercial waters my local lake and canals which on is better please if you don't mind have a good one
I think when fishing at high levels or 16m for a long time is where the money is. Is that worth the extra cash? Depends on the person buying it I guess.
Great work Ben, I can’t agree with the high end poles though, have you had a waggle of the Garbolino UK 1 Accomplice HP , but I agree with the Guru 13m pole, Preston have had their chances with me and I will never buy one again, the best pole they made was the Lerc Edge + at 9.5m with the extension, Ps: Leigh Tackle have an offer for the Garbo for £3450
Top video again Ben - I'm investing in a new pole and your tips and advice are a massive help. I fancy the Superium X50! but off to a pole alley to check it out first Keep up the good work
Cheers for putting all the information together as it seems to be an absolute minefield out there now when it comes to buying a pole. I have been to a local shop and held a couple of poles, but options near me for doing this are very limited. I have decided to treat myself to a new pole as I recently got back into this style of fishing and my old browning margin 6m doesn't cut what I'm now doing. I have looked about and as I said I have sat with a couple (superium x10 and a couple of margin poles). I am looking at the Map 3g range as there seems to be some excellent deals on, I assume because they will be bringing something new out fairly soon. I have found a 501 for £999 and a 601 for £1300, both of which are within my set budget. Does there seem to be a huge difference between makes in how a pole feels in this sort of price range? The x10 was surprisingly good in the hand to me at that price, but I want the option of longer than 13m. As I can't get out and physically hold a 601 without driving miles and miles, is there a huge difference in feel between preston and map? Sorry it's a bit of a hard question to answer, but as someone who seems to have held or fished with a huge range it would be useful for me as someone who cannot test them out. Cheers in advance.
im undesided between the g90 and the x70, i sish mainlt commercials and need something that wonr let me down, what are the pros and cons of these two polws?
Matrix Margin version 1 - I know you can't get them now, but I have 1 and when stores were selling them off I bought another to keep for spare sections for my V1 MTX2 (again, another awesome pole) Would love to sell a kidney to buy a Guru Aventus Zero 900 16m package.
Daiwa all day long I've got the Whisker. Preston are a waste of time as are Maver I've snapped both haha... I needed a number 5 in a storm for my falgship Preston a few years back (my fault) took 8 months to get a new section Preston customer service was terrible I got told and I quote "sections are on a boat from China 6 months mate if not longer". Daiwa on the other hand sent me 2 pole caps free of charge when I lost them even paid the postage customer service was excellent they could not do enough for me.. Now that's why you buy Daiwa.
The garbolino is awesome I agree but the aero pro is certainly stiffer am not saying its The best pole out there but it's defo the stiffest straightest pole out there
I'm really surprised you never chose the maver power 1000 10 MTR over the Preston margin. I've held them nx to each other and the mvr is much better. my view..
Great video, a lot of choice and great advice. It has given me something to think about. Thanks.
Thank you so much for videos. They are all absolutely brilliant and very helpful.

totally agree personal opinion is what counts.

I’ve got an X7 and it’s superb ❤
I picked up the Pro and it’s unreal but didn’t think it was 2 grand better than the X7 as the X7 is so good
I think when fishing at high levels or 16m for a long time is where the money is. Is that worth the extra cash? Depends on the person buying it I guess.
Any problems with the x7 yet? Or still mega after a while?
@@dennyb965still brilliant and had some right lumps on it

I love the garb was my number 1
2 years ago needs a refresh but personal opinion is what counts.

I fancy the Superium X50! but off to a pole alley to check it out first

appreciated
How good was the Shimano Aero X 5

601 will be a better pole than x10 as its higher price range and better carbon. but the x10 is amazing i had one
im undesided between the g90 and the x70, i sish mainlt commercials and need something that wonr let me down, what are the pros and cons of these two polws?
Both are fab poles. G90 best for spares, x7 newest tech.
I had the same dilemma. Went to a pole alley and to be honest wasn't much between them but went for a G90 for the availability of spares
Where would you put the drennan acolyte pro margin pole in this?
not too much experience with it tbh. I do hear good things
Matrix Margin version 1 - I know you can't get them now, but I have 1 and when stores were selling them off I bought another to keep for spare sections for my V1 MTX2 (again, another awesome pole)
Would love to sell a kidney to buy a Guru Aventus Zero 900 16m package.
lol yeah same price as good cars now
Daiwa all day long I've got the Whisker. Preston are a waste of time as are Maver I've snapped both haha... Hey ben, what did you think on the wall strength on the shimano X5?
solid
Matrix MTX Margin 11m ? V2
yeah my bad melts your brain doing these type of vids
HaHa speedies new friend! nice pole but no way best pole in that bracket and defo not that strong imo uk1 accomplish hp is stiffer and stronger!
Thanks 👍
The garbolino is awesome I agree but the aero pro is certainly stiffer am not saying its The best pole out there but it's defo the stiffest straightest pole out there
John When are you putting the Daiwa z pro up for review?
You took the words right out of my mouth.
First comment … fish on … 😂 … great vid as usual Ben 👍
Ta bud
We’re are you
Respect you’re opinion but that areo will hardly sell. It may be an amazing bit of kit but it won’t sell in any great numbers.
I'm really surprised you never chose the maver power 1000 10 MTR over the Preston margin. I've held them nx to each other and the mvr is much better. my view..
