I noticed a little mix-up regarding onboard storage. It seems like all these action cams, including GoPro and Insta360, would need an external micro SD card, as none of them come with onboard storage. Just thought I'd share for anyone new to buying action cameras. As Action 4 user myself, I'd like to point out a couple of more things. Like, the highest resolution is actually 4K120, not 4K60. This means these cameras can handle super smooth high-res action shots without needing a special slow-motion mode. Super useful! And it also has HorizonSteady feature for keeping the horizon perfectly level.
If people are having trouble choosing, one provides 8 bit colour (256 RGB) insta360 Ace Pro and the other DJI A4 offers 10 bit colour (1024 RGB) out of the box standard mode and in D-log M. It’s a no brainer.
@@smellymala3103 I grew up in the 80s with a 17" or so Sony Trinitron and interlaced image. When the internet and digital videos became the new thing, footage was bad, pixelated, and unclear. It made me miss interlaced SD DVDs or plain cable. Once you view old gen stuff on the gen, it's hard to go back. I'm on a 5 year old 4k TV (there are 8k out, yes) and view stuff that isn't upscaled to the resolution spread across the 65" screen. It's like 320p or flip phone cameravideo all over again. If you are viewing on a phone screen, I can see why you might not care about resolution or sharpness.
What.. no mention of DJI Pocket 3? Which in my opinion is the best camera this year. Maybe not suited for mountain jumping or jumping off cliffs on bikes (how many buyers do this?) but for sports like running, hiking and general outside work its a no brainer winner.
Great review, however, reliability is very important. I've had two Go Pro mini 11 brand new and they wont charge, overheat or won't turn on. Very bad customer service as well, they dont have any answers! Im trying the DJI 4. Tks
I'd just like to say GoPros are trash. I'm about to travel to Japan in a few days and tonight I'm charging my GoPro batteries and making sure everything is in order but when I first turned it on after months of not using, it now freezes and is unusable.
Never ever buy a Gopro. I have had countless issues with mine. No matter how "good" it may be, its no good if it doesn;t work, which it often does not.

Great, going for DJI Action this year.
Videos published in 1080p when using 4k footage is a joke. Even on a small phone screen, let alone a 4k tv
I'm a visual media Luddite admittedly, I truly don't understand the demand for definition. I'm just going to fuck it up with a lens mod or filter 🤣

Which one has the easiest app / software to use?
I am officially confused. 😩
So am I ... My dilemma is astronomical 😢.. especially btw the InstaAcepro & DJI Pro 5
