❤❤❤❤❤Wow how our childhood passes us I still remember this in Smart House, my mom used to hate when I wanted to watch Disney Channel all the all the time and this concert was on, 35 right here
They were Bad Boys. The manliest boy band. The ones you would call to fight because they were athletic dancers and they had rhymes. Oh how underrated they were. Catch me rapping J's solos in 2021.
Im Not A Female but i agree with you , Dont Forget about "New Kids on the block" "New Edition" & "East 17" East 17 hated the term boyband Because Boybands Were Fluffy while East 17 Were Rough
I think they were marketed as a boy band for boys. As a teen I certainly used to think they were cool and would (and still do) sing along to their tunes.
I always preferred them to BSB and *NSYNC. I loved all 3 because…teenage girl…but they were always my favorite. Although…I always got “4 bad boys and Rich” vibes. I dunno why. He always came off so adorable and innocent compared to the others.
Look the beauty of music is only due to genius music pieces done by: Denniz Pop and Max Martin. All the Back Street Boys, N'Sync, Five, Ace of Base, etc... Do have the signature of Denniz Pop. agree! he was an all-rounder, talented, good dancer, visual. he would be the centre and the most pushed by the company if 5ive were active nowadays lol
The fact that I still look for this song in 2022 proves the big love I have for this band 😁 They didnt get the fame they deserved back then. Despite their style and songs are unique comparing to other boybands existed in the same era. Oh, I had huge, huge crush on Scott Robinson!
lmao I was just telling my brother how provocative this was and we used to sing it as kids around our mom. I mean the first lyric is “Do ya wanna get freaky” 🤭
In this musical era with silly boybands . Five showed an authentic sound and compositions that 21 th century Korean and Japanese boybands never will reach in ten thousand lives.
Thats the only reason I know the song. Loved that movie! This is my first time seeing the actual video. I didnt even know they are from the UK lol. Disney played a lot of UK music in the 90s and Im just now realizing it.
This is actually a pretty catchy tune. I don't really remember the band that much but, from listening to songs like this, it's clear why people liked them so much.
I still love this song in my 30's as much as I did riding around on my bike listening to their CD in 2001. Not ashamed to say I still remember all the words!
Their first hit. As a British boy band, they were not that popular in the U.S., especially back to the time full of amazing boy bands. But I really like them. Actually they couldn't be just defined as a boy band, since their music combined so many types. I miss them! I miss the golden time for the boy bands! I miss the 90's and 80's!
Russell Cui I confess, as an American I didn't know about them at the time. But clearly they could hang with their competitors. Kind of a shame the record industry has such a monopoly on that stuff.
I live in the Midwest and they were huge here. I had their CD, got it at walmart way back in the 90's. All my friends knew who they were, they were even played during our gym class. Not sure about anywhere else but I know they were a huge hit here. Back when Disney Channel was poppin. I had such a huge crush on Abz, still do. He is still so fine. I miss the 90's!!
ahora que creci, me di cuenta que five era uno de los mejores grupos de chicos en esa epoca, bueno siempre me gustaron, pero realmente tenian temazos!!!
I’m a big time backstreet boy / *NSYNC fan but these guys right here just had something different and unique about them and I don’t understand how they weren’t just as big as those groups , and I don’t get how everyone is calling this cheesy ????! 🤷🏽♀️ cause if you ask me they were getting down the whole time from the lyrics to the dance moves. 😍
Because BSB and NSYNC are american boybands which will get you alot bigger worldwide if they promote you in the US if FIVE were promoted in the US im sure they would have been bigger
To be fair, they were quite popular worldwide. It’s unfortunate that Simon didn’t manage them well. They were able to breakthrough the US market which is something European boybands failed to do during the nineties and 2000s.
Not only Five, Westlife also they never made it to the U.S, I heard they said that at that time there are too many boybands in US also, so US radio and tv channels refused to boardcast them. Their disadvantage as a British boybands and a bad timing coz there are lots of boybands in the late 90's. They all are very talented, I really miss them, these days there are no boybands as good as them and I think that's why Kpop are becoming popular and I myself started to Stan a Kpop band(BTS). They're good and I really love them but to be honest they are not in a level of late 90's pop groups.
@@darthmatt4891 Five did have 1 hit in the US "When the lights go out"...According to Simon Cowell Five turned down "Bye Bye Bye" which Simon stated "This song would have broke the band in America". However, Five passed on it and it was given to NSYNC and the rest is history.

I'm nearly 33 years old and I'm sorry but this is still a banger. 5ive never got as big as they should have.
It's never not been a banger. The fact that this played heavy on the Disney channel though still shocks me lol. No regrets though!
@emilyharwood89 I agree, they deserve to big as N’sync was
they were big in eur asia, not so much in North America
I just heard this song for the first time in a mini mart in Cambodia lol
For me 2
Throwback to the 90's! Shout out to all my 90's people! We had the best childhoods!!!

Would? I do. I’m 41 and have no shame. 😂
I'm nearly 36 and this song instantly takes me back to the mid-late 90s. Man, anyone remember Smart House?
I'm 36 too ♥️ reminds me of my childhood
Of course, who could forget the "kick butt" video screens??

You miss the 90's or your fifteens?
I wasn't a 90s but i watched smart house when i was 7 in 2010 and this song was the hype to get on
I think Abz was the most talented among them he can rap, sing, best dancer and amazing stage presence.
agree! he was an all-rounder, talented, good dancer, visual. he would be the centre and the most pushed by the company if 5ive were active nowadays lol
@@vero8drox agreed, also Abz and J co-wrote most of their big hits. The other 3 co-wrote the weak ballads on their albums that were filler tracks
@@rorz999 so you mean their ballads songs were not good?

Oh, I had huge, huge crush on Scott Robinson!
this song is a max martin song. he was behind all the good bsb nsync britney spears songs from back in the day.
Yes Scott been my crush too😊
August 2021 I’m here! Love all of you! Forever babes
I'm nearly 40 y/o & I still enjoy listening to 5ive songs & "Slam Dunk Da Funk" is one of my favourite songs of all time.
Ritchie was such a cutie and Jason was so good at rapping. Felt more like a "real rapper" than a "boy band guy" :D
This song hits a whole new meaning as an adult 🙈🙈 push it in pull it out to the beat omg 🙈🙈🤣🤣
Omg that's true!! AHAHAHAH

In this musical era with silly boybands .

I think this song is the ancestor of KPOp songs with rappers spitting fire.
To all my 90's kids, you cannot tell me that the house party scene from Smart House doesn't play in your mind when you hear this song.
Thats the only reason I know the song. Loved that movie! This is my first time seeing the actual video. I didnt even know they are from the UK lol. Disney played a lot of UK music in the 90s and Im just now realizing it.
