I think that te machine you found is an old adding machine. I used one like that when I was in my first job, in the sixties.

You need to come to Boston Spa and investigate where the old roman ford was.

@@stevethemudlarker If you follow Rudgate North and join it up with the "old Roman road" towards Tockwith, the ford will be where it crosses the Wharfe (half way between Boston Spa and Newton Kyme). Hope that helps.

I think the keyboard is a calculator. I’m sure my friend’s dad had one in the 70s and you could print your calculations out on an inbuilt till-roll.
