Actually, in an household in PH, everyone pick their individual song to sing. And the line is always long just to wait for your turn. By that time, almost everyone is no longer paying attention to the one currently singing and they just either mingle, eat or drink on the side while waiting. So instead of waiting for a long line, they decided to pick a song they know and sing it line by line until it became a normal game in PH when in a karaoke. And everyone loves it! No waiting! Just pure fun and singing challenges.
They are amateur singers and they're just doing this kind of chalenge for fun and to unwind. It only goes to show that Filipinos really can sing and its the filipino DNA!

Hello guys Dan and Mat,these guys and gals were actually members of accapela choir groups competing with other groups at a certain competition years ago.they became close/good friends through the years and very recently decided to meet up for some dine out and singing..ü..some of them are now engineers, teachers,music coaches,nurses,etc...so they really have the training and background years before..ü..they themselves were surprised that this went viral,they were just having fun really.
That is pretty much what happens when there is a party at home or just a get to gether of friends, relatives, school mates, we just sing and most of those who do join are really good, so yea it is quite right to say that since it is a usual thing already a lot of Filipinos appear as if they aren't amazed by it by means of clapping or cheering or when someone is belting at the appliance section of the department store and Filipinos just pass by and don't stay to watch is because it is so normal already, it is so usual that we hear people belting, so for Filipinos to really stop, watch and applaud, the performance has got to be more than awesome.

Voice lessons is very expensive, like Marcilito Pomoy they develop her own voice without vocal coach..!! If you are interested to be a singer.!! Here in Philippines you must sing even you are out of tone don't be shy.!! 🎼🎤👏👍☠️🇵🇭🗡️
When I was living in the Philippines, the neighborhood karaoke was so loud and it echoes throughout the night even past midnight and I couldn't sleep. It was so exasperating experience.

At this point, to be honest, most household here in the PH, we have our own karaoke system. We have Bluetooth speakers that we can plug mics into, and then search youtube for the songs' karaoke versions and voila, instant karaoke session with family. it's like singing is something we do in a daily basis. :)
lol this is just a normal activity,that is karaoke singing, in any Filipino parties or even small gatherings here.they're just doing this for fun and no rehearsals needed lol. you have no idea how many belters we have here in the Philippines hehe

I saw that workers planting rice were singing some 50 years ago when I was in elementary school.. filipinos sing at every occasion even in burols... I was taught to entertain house guests- show my talents (and I was sorely lacking waah).. that was child abuse - hahaha. filipinos love ❤❤❤ to SING whether in tune (Ala Katrina or Mori or KZ or Kayla) OR sound like a dying cow !
Well umm, not every single Filipino sings as well as these people do, BUT YES, THIS IS VERY TYPICAL OF FILIPINO CELEBRATIONS. You really don't have to be really skillful to sing, but I guess you could say you can hardly find a Filipino who is tone-deaf. I often hear reactors say "What's with the water in the Philippines? Why is everybody good at singing?" But if you ask me, it's not really the water. It's ATMOSPHERE -- both literal and figurative meanings. Figurative "atmosphere" as in our culture and attitudes allow for a conducive atmosphere to sing or learn to sing. Literal "atmosphere" as in our humid climate allows for clear sound to be transmitted and so we have developed ears that HEAR really well. One last thing. Foreigners rarely know this and Filipinos forget to mention this because it's VERY COMMON in PH: FILIPINOS ARE VERY TALENTED IN VOCAL MIMICRY. I'm not joking. I can't count how many friends I have IRL who joke around imitating other people's voices and mannerisms. It's a very common gag among Filipino friends.

Just for fun. In the Philippines, every occassions that we are celebrating , we don't missed to have or a rented videoke machine. They are lined up, so that all who wants to sing can sing even just one line of the song until it ended. 😊
A great percentage of Filipino families in the Philippines and abroad own a music mike (oftentimes called "magic mike" which is actually a brand name), which has a built-in chip containing about 900 songs with videos, and a slot that enables the addition of a chip that can have more than 3,500 songs with videos. Others, just like my wife and I have, own a karaoke CD player; one can select from a very long list of songs and have those songs recorded as a customized CD.
Singing is a part of our study during school days. And when we where a little students a kindergarten teachers has always taught us to sing 2 to 3 set of songs before the class will start and even before going home we always taught to sing😄 While, in high school to college has always a special program or an organization for all the students that has a talent to sing or dance. And the Government is giving a big support to our talents that has a great potential to bring honor to the country. Add more, singing competitions are everywhere in the Philippines and its open for all talents like everybody is welcome to join.
