Thanks so much for sharing, that was sweet. I don't think the UA-cam sound quality does it justice but there's enough there for me to hear the depth of it's lower notes and the nice treble tones this instrument can conjure. Your performance was magic and greatly appreciated.
It's all his skill. The Bundy II almost made me leave the craft thinking it was all my fault! Never buy this unless if you're here to somehow maneuver this thing with his overhauling and adjustments! Kudos to you for this to even be possible
If you're looking for cheap mouthpieces (less than $20 on Amazon): My nephew began studying alto sax the summer of 2011 with a 1984 Selmer Bundy II I got on eBay for $120 and spent $455 to be repadded. He first used a Rico Graftonite C5 mouthpiece and had trouble with low notes. On a hunch, based on some comments I ran across on the Net, I got him a Rico Graftonite A5 mouthpiece last November. He likes it much better and can hit lower notes more easily.
I have played the saxophone since age 12, and stopped around age 21. To this day the sound of someone playing a sax makes me cringe, almost as if I can anticipate their next note, feel their intonations, feel the vibrations of the horn as if I was playing it myself. I can listen to Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane, & a select few others easily all day long with enjoyment, but everyone else send a chalk board scratch effect through my senses. You sir, on the other hand, were very pleasant to listen to. The way you played was extremely smooth with a little rasps, the perfect mixer. I felt like I was watching and old black and white movie with the sax lead on stage during a club scene. Felt like a time machine for a minute there. Well done man! Others may disagree but I know my stuff, and you played wonderfully. Question: what type of mouth piece are you using???
@fireblaze9260 its not the sax its his mouthpiece its sounds like the reed is a 4 and the metal mouthpiece is crazy with tone precision its a 6 i believe....im the alto sax section leader @ huffman high and I'm a freshman my used to b section leaders chair i took sounds allmost as good as this but ultimately its the player not the mouth piece or reed his tone is unique to his embouchure so work on longtones and scales no guarantee when but ull get there
You have no idea of what playing saxophone truly is. I have 2 favorite horns...One of which I do not own, and that is the Guardala tenor..the black german one, and the Yamaha YTS-23 Student tenor. I've played mark 6's that didn't do anything for me. You need to re evaluate yourself as a musician.
Sweet Jesus....I didn't think such a beautiful, modern sound could come out of such a vintage sax...
I hear the "Misty" you're sneakin' in there. Great playing!

Thanks Sean!
Amazing. I picked up the sax in grade school. Didnt keep up with it. I should be this good!!

Thank you my friend. But I truly find the old bundys to be great saxes. They are actually buescher saxophones made for selmer. You could google it
I have played several. They are great playing and sounding horns. just dont look as cool as higher priced horn.
Beautiful..... stunning !!!!
Thanks John!
You play very very well !!! Congratulations!!!!
Thanks!
I have this saxophone 🎷😊
Proud to have found and kept my sax when I did

In this vid yanagisawa 7 metal. Thanks!
Nice edgy sound..with enough warmness....easily possible to get that sanborn sound on this horn.

@pelonelcojedor i think the reeds a 4 and the piece is a metal 6
My reed here is lavoz medium
how to play? (: it sounds so good! (:
It sounds like beaitiful dreams of a young girl who fell in love
It goes to show you expensive horns don't matter much...it's always been the player..not the horn.
dude your too good to use that instrument buy somethings like mark 6 which will fit you
정범진 I have a mark 6 too but I prefer the bundy

Cool.
The d on my bundy 2 just lets out a squeak unless played at maximum sound. :( I'm no sax mechanic
That's a leak, stranger. Take it to a shop.
cool. I might get one too! :-)
Can you please tell me in what year and country the Sax was made?
THANK YOU
Nomadic Mind LTU America, and I think around either the 80’s or 90’s, old but not SUPER old :)
Indiana in the buescher factory USA in the 70’s.

I sold it a few days after uploading this vid..(two years ago). Sorry

Is this misty?
Yes, that’s what I played here

@saxophoneshop 3 what reed do you use?
I don't understand why Bundys get so much hate.
what kind of mouthpice are you using? ;)
Mmm?,, perdon pero no me gusta el sound que tiene ese saxo!!
Muy brillante e impreciso (quizás sea por la boquilla metálica)
Pero lindo tema😊
No, stop. This saxophone is just crap.
