      Looks like CBS did this one blind. I would be shocked if most were accurate. Dilly at 15 would be a steal and Matas dropping out of the top 10.

    getting Shepherd and Topic would be fine for me I guess. everyone of these mock drafts is so different, I don't think they have any real idea, if I take anything away from it all it's that on draft Day the actual draft is going to look different from what pretty much anybody expects. with the Spurs 2 picks, I would be happy with any combination of Clingan, Shepherd, Dilly, Topic, or zastle.

    I have a feeling that it won't matter right away who we draft, because Pop is going to the same starting line-up he used this spring. My great hope is that Jeremy, Julian, and Tre all boost their 3 pt.% enough to start to make opponents think twice about double teaming Vic. Blake Wesley is another candidate for a leap this summer. Reps, chemistry, confidence: give the current kids a chance. I think both Tre and Julian are undervalued by many fans. Just draft the best athletes that fall to us and plug them in when and IF they are needed.

    Reed is the best pick at #4 if he's available. Best shooter (and consistent) high IQ on both side of the court, great off ball, and good D despite his size. (also he have nice bounce 42 inches was the best at the draft combine)
    All those who like Topic don't understand we are not in 2014 anymore. old school bb (where everyone is good at one thing and bad at everything else) don't work anymore.
    No one will respect Topic range, therefore his D will be on Wemby or cloging the paint. With Sochan brick launcher Spurs might ber worst the next season because of that...

      Fredette I mean Reed is gonna get cooked nightly in the NBA. He's only 6 1 barefoot. He cant drive and will be a spot up shooter at the next level. Wemby gonna be carrying him on offense AND defense. Dillingham is the pick at PG with no Topic

      @@aspleen1102 Mike has a long wingspan to cover up his height, while Malaki's defense isn't just about poor IQ, but he got shit lateral quickness for his size. Lateral quickness plays a big part on the defensive end, which separates Wemby from other 7'+ bigs.
      Good BBIQ can make a below-average body become an above-average defender, however they
      rarely become top defenders. Also, the reason why Fred was never in the discussion of the defensive 1st~2nd team. I can see Reed being a defender close to Steph(When he's younger) or even Fred, but he would never
      be a defender like Holiday, Smart, or D.White. Larger players will always prey on them no matter what because of the size difference, like what they did to Steph.

    • @aspleen1102
      @aspleen1102 8 місяців тому

      @@Leo-nc3yx I don't desagree on Reed's D ceiling, but I don't think there is need to be Elite D for a PG. A PG by default is not the best defender, if he's not a liability (like probably Reed) and score efficiently on the other side I'm 100% ok with that.
      But again you search reason to explain bad D on their athleticism that not always the case. Mo Bamba was a beast prospect, but near a bust in NBA... Sure having nice physical tool help, but you should learn from all those bad draft made only about athleticism...

      Mike have the same tool than Reed to contest any shot. Sure his wingspan help him more for stealing.
      But you know who was one of the best at stealing the ball? Reed (2.5 steal per game) because of his IQ.
      Also his bounce (42 inches) is great to elite, that why he was also so efficient contesting and blocking the ball (0.7 blocks per game)

    I've seen report that the Spurs are interested in a new name, Devin Carter SG FROM: Providence HT: 6-3, WT: 193. This is what the NBA Draft Room say about him. " He’s a standout defender who can really lock down on the perimeter and get after ball handlers. He’s not the biggest guard but has a lot of strength, allowing him to defend either guard position and can hold his own against wings. He’s also an elite rebounder for a guard and really helps out the bigs on the glass. On the offensive end Carter is just as aggressive. He’s a powerful driver and good finisher in traffic. He’s also a high level 3pt shooter, hitting nearly 38% from 3 his junior season. He plays a steady, consistent and efficient game and brings it on both ends. Carter can run the point or play off the ball. He’s a heady player who makes winning plays all over the court." Looks like his shot is a bit slow to me.

    Taking 2 guards is so crazy especially when we are an abysmal defensive team. When will these mock drafts learn that sometimes you draft for need and the Spurs NEED a wing to play defense. Wemby is great but he do it by himself. Im all for getting a guard with the 4th or 8th but we cannot afford to skip on Cody Williams or Ron Holland and expect to get better defensively. If we were even middle of the pack in D this year we add so many more wins and Wemby probably wins DPOY

  • @Peroriperora
    @Peroriperora 8 місяців тому +2

    This mock draft does not make any sense to be honest 😅 No worries, Spurs have Castle secured at #4, they really want that tall defensive-minded dude at PG… Sochan was not the guy for the spot, Castle could very well be :) Also the fact that he played well as a wing, and not as a ball dominant PG in College will help him fit in very well along Wemby’s side. Wemby needs the ball in his hand A LOT… So Spurs just need a good defender with high bball IQ who can make entry passes at PG. His shooting sucks but his mechanics does not. He will improve. He’s our guy

    Watching the Western Playoffs, I think the Spurs need strong perimeter defenders. I'd gamble on Castle and Holland. Castle played PG in high school so try him out for one season, alternating with Tre. If it doesn't work out, he and Holland have the size to match up against Luka, SGA, Antman, Murray. Spurs can sign or trade f9r a vet PG after next season.

    I changed my mind. Risacher is moving down the boards quick and now projected at the 7th or 8th spot. His shooting is all over the place. Sometimes its at 38% and then back to 20%. His defense of HORRIBLE. He only plays along the perimeter and doesn't move well without the ball, nor is he a shot creator or off the dribble penetrate. His shooting was so horrible, the opposing players now play off of him by 8 feet, daring him to shoot. He had 0 assist, 0 block shots, 0 steals, and 1 rebound average during the playoffs. Are you kidding me! They want the other players on his team to beat them because they know Risacher can't shoot, nor is he a threat. He also can't rebound or block shots as he never likes to get involved inside. He might break a nail or mess up his hair. The guy is exactly like Micheal Porter (Denver). Just making sure he looks good running down the court. Hate to say it, but he may end up being a role player off the bench then finally returning to France in 3 yrs to finish off his career. The NBA is just not his style. In other words, BUST alert! BUST ALERT!

I understand their reason as Spurs have been known for taking guards after guards. (Remember San Antonio Guards?) I would be very upset if Spurs pick guards then another guard. Shooting and defense is more important than passing IMO as neither Tony and Manu were pass first point guard and we did fine.

      What Topic showed in the adriatic league is historic, I don't think we've ever seen such a great passer at such a young age there, and he's playing against grown ups. He has a crazy high basketball IQ but he has poor shooting and defense despite his size. I'd be interested in seeing what he can do with the Spurs; but I don't think it'll work so well without great shooters surrounding him, which is why they make us draft Reed Shephard, I guess.

      Dillingham have been marked as one of the biggest loser after draft combine

    • @bballer191
      @bballer191 8 місяців тому +1

      Spurs are unlikely to take Dillingham. They want someone with some size at that position imo, and who isn't going to be a complete liability defensively. Much more likely they draft Topic at 8 if he's available or wait until next year to target someone like 6'4 Nalon Traore, who I like better as a PG prospect than anyone in this draft anyways.

    The spurs tend to do unorthodox things with their draft picks. I suspect we will all be surprised with the eighth pick…possibly even the fourth.

    You’re not gonna get Zackery at 4 the wizards will draft him but there is one way to get them. There’s my idea the wizards and the Spurs pull off a massive trade. Will you get the second pic and Jordan Poole to play point for you and the wizards get the fourth and eighth pick when those wizards draft their point guard which one of the point guards are there at 8 they draft Edey

    castle cannot shoot well enough by test. Shep is over the top shooter for 3/s, PG at 8. I hope SAS buy Memphis pick or Houston pick... How about Salaun at 4 and Topic at 8.

      Stephon castle shot 18/25 at the combine from 3. He shown he is a capable shooter and have the work ethic to get better. I dont think people need to worry about Stephon Castle shooting than other players in this draft.
