CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Turbo (Michael Chambers) dances on the ceiling, which impresses his chicky-babe, Lucia (Sabrina García).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Breakdancing, hip-hop, rap, and a good time are the main stars of this standard teen movie about youths trying to raise money to save their community club from being razed for a shopping mall. Ozone (Adolfo Quiñones) and Turbo (Michael Chambers) are two master breakdancers who have started a community club to teach other teens how to manage the acrobatics of the dance without literally breaking anything. Their efforts create some choreographed, group breakdancing that is rather innovative. But an evil developer (Peter MacLean) sees their property as ideal for a shopping mall project -- and a crooked politician is willing to back him up for a fee. As the teens do their best to raise money to keep their center, some are also battling with restrictive parents or trying to ease into romantic liaisons that offer their own challenges.

I'm 50 years old,and this scene still entertains me as much as it did when I was 11.
Is that you Jason mantzoukas 😂
How you doing at 50 years that's a long time 😯
@@zha273 Are your parents 30 or something? Lol
A blessing. May the Lord grant me the years to see 50 😩💕✨

Michael Scott. “I don’t wanna come down”
And yeah I still play the hell out of this song.😁
@@OldSchoolJules Mark Scott. Michael is from "The Office".
@@desecration171 you are correct. Oddly enough I realized that mistake shortly after I posted but literally thought, ehh someone will come along and correct me.😂👍🏾

I just like the way she walks in and accepts that as normal
She wasn't impressed because he still won't let her go through his phone.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
She wanted the BBC!!!!👍👍👍🍆
Cuz she was into turbo.
@@wubranch1 I'd slap someone who wasn't into him! he's freaking amazing
im 16 and this still holds up as a legendary scene
Back in my day, we had to dance on ceilings to get a girl's attention. This generation will never understand that.

If we can perfect artificial wombs we won’t need women. The world can be as it was before Pandora (if you know your Greek mythology).
@@matthew8153 Yeah I’m a boy? Never heard of anyone else talk about wanting to get rid of women. Who’s we? you? You’re probably just mad you can’t GET a woman to begin with lmao
Hahahahaha
34 years old and this scene still amazes me.
LXRYLXRYTV I'm 34 so I was a little bitty when this came out
Age has no importance. I’m 29 but even if I’m 80 I’ll still love this
49 and I am amazed.
my guess is the whole set is inside a big rotating drum that is slowly turning
So cool and I love dance🥰
the song is called I don't wanna come down by Mark Scott
Thank you!
Sucks the breakin 2 soundtrack was only released on Vinyl. This is the best song.
TheAngryMutha I love this song.
finally thank you been looking for the title and artist
Can’t find it anywhere!! ☹️
I never get tired of watching this scene.
His dance solos are the best parts of both movies. Dude gets off.
Turbo kills it
To me even though him and shabba doo both was breakers I think he was better even tho shabba doo was great shrimp just had more moves
@Tee Culture exactly said the same thing above
@Tee Culture Gotta remember Ozone is a pure poplocker and Turbo was more of a break dancer..

The 1980s, an era where you could get away with weird dress sense, weird hairstyles and walking and dancing up walls and ceilings. Great times! 😀
The 2010s beg to differ..😂
It really was an age of liberty and freedom ushering in many new ideas except the old people, police, and county probation officers were always trying to criminalize young people for enjoying rock music, new age fashion, and art. Now almost everything is accepted social norm, but culture is only dying in apathy. Those were the days when you could crank up the stereo and electric guitars jamming out for most people seemed OK with it though a few were miserables were around trying nonstop to shut down music, art, and free speech using the police. Now days one must use headphones as to not offend others unless you own a place with some space to jam out for the cultural diversity and every style from every era of history isn't mixing and meshing well.
Unique79 not weird it’s amazing
@@Worldofourown2024 This is totally the opposite of of things are.
I wish they didnt invent gravity after the 80s.
Yes! 2024 still teaching new school music!!!!!!!!❤
Man as a kid no one could tell me Turbo didn’t have super powers. Both part 1 and 2 will always be 2 of my all time favorite movies.
You know what, you’re right. This guy controlling brooms with his mind, defying gravity and fighting against pop locking blood’s.
I’m convinced
They could not have picked a better song for this scene! Timeless!
Dopest part in the movie!
It might be dope but tis is all him
That girl at the end tho (heart pounds)
I was probably 6 or 7 when this came out on VHS. My uncle was 10 years older than me and we watched it countless times, trying our best to break dance at these scenes. Great times.
This clip look super gay though
Big Boy Leader yes, homosexuals are known for breakdancing on their ceilings.
CHIC WALKS IN...
SEES HER DUDE ON THE CEILING DANCING...
SMILES... OH IT'S NORMAL 🤷🏾♂️
Drugs were popular in the 80s
It was a fantasy. Even says so in the lyrics. They only exchanged glances before this scene.
I mean how else do you get a girl in your room

Back in the 80's movies didn't need an explanation... Total classic...
This song will forever be embedded in my brain
What song is it?
This scene is so fucken iconic man people don't realize how this blew ours minds watching this. One of the best dance scenes ever still in 2023
For those of you wondering how they achieve this "effect". The room is suspended on a giant hampster wheel that can slowly rotate while keeling the camera stationary. Everything in the room is glued/screwed in place; notice how he doesn't interact with anything in the room?
0:30 I noticed very closely at the blue panel of the ceiling under the window on the far top left of the screen that a slit is exposing where you can vaguely see activity of the hamster wheel in action. Still a great nostalgic scene. It was all producer Menahem Golan's idea to have Michael dance on the ceiling like Fred Astaire.
Stuart Otis oh and next you gonna tell me Santa ain’t real?! Get outa here with that man, Turbo for Prez!
For those of you wondering, this is the autistic comments thread.
I just remembered the movie and guessed it with in the first 15 seconds at 43
Thanks captain obvious
Kids now And days will never know how to walk on walls
Op Gogo at least they know how to use the word "nowadays" right.

I know, everyone walked on ceilings in the 80’s

Its a skill we lost when the internet generation came of age...
Bed ridden Grandpa Joe when he sees the golden ticket
This brings back so many beautiful memories. Times were so fun, the art of hip hop, dance, graffiti, all rolled into one. This was such an amazing motion picture about the art of break dancing. Turbo, Ozone and special K.... such a pure time in black culture. I miss this.
I much prefer the 90’s.
I’m glad this movie captured such a splendid fleeting time
I don't care how old I get, this dancing on the ceiling clip is the best shyt I ever seen in on a movie in my life 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is still the ABSOLUTE COOLEST DANCING SCENE EVER
The music is still top notch!
Facts
The best ever
SO YOU THINK THIS SCENE IS BETTER THAN THE KRAFTWERK BROOM SCENE?!! NAAAH HOMIE!!
😂😆😄😅🤣
The music just brings out those vibes & dance moves back then. I’ll Trade everything I have today for just one night in the 80’s again. ❤🥺
I'm 13 and I got attached to 60s-90s songs and movies ever sense I found out about new edition
This is the number one most eighties movie scene ever made. A real high point. ❤️
Forever a classic and one of my favorite movies....
This clip is easily one of the most cerebral dance numbers in any movie ever. She said "yes" and Turbo is dancing on the walls and ceiling. Wonderful!
What a feeling, to be dancing on the ceiling.
+MegaSnippezz Lionel Ritchie, must have thought that too. This was two years before , he wrote the song.
The teenage crush I had on the woman he kissed.. 45 and still remember.
He str8 killed it 🕺🏾🕴🏾🤜🏾💯🤛🏾
It's worth noting that turbo is actually the inventor of what is known as Michael Jacksons "moonwalk" turbo was approached by Mike after he'd seen him do it on a TV dancing show and asked turbo if he could use the move, of course turbo being the guy he is, said it's not owned by him, it's jus a move and he was free to dance the way he felt..
I've heard from someone that the moonwalk actually goes a long way back, but the moonwalk was already being done by individual dancers around the 70s and 80s. Michael definitely made it more visible to larger audiences though. Absolutely love Boogaloo Shrimp and Shabba Doo and their contribution to the hip hop scene with breaking and locking.
Michael Jackson himself proclaimed he learned it from Bobby Brown. We will never know for sure. Others say it was Poppin Taco who showed Michael the Moonwalk
I must correct you good sir as Jeffery Daniels from the R&B group Shalamar was the one who showed Mike what he called the "back slide". There is a history to this that ppl during that time verified, now, not to say that Turbo didn't show him a version that he improved on as the dance in different ways was being executed since the mid 70's but Jeffery was who introduced him to it by and large.
Im 36 now and still find this fascinating
I’ll never pass 1 or 2 up on tv. Absolutely genius and super 80’s ahhhh I love it!!!
80s had the best jams for movies. Nothing but memories now at 48!!!
God damn this takes be back I love this movie
This dude walks like this across his kitchen every time he goes to the fridge...
The Good Old '80's! Breakdancing Forever!! Greatest Dancing Ever!!❤
I miss the 80s and I wasn’t even born until November 1991
Why was life so much better in this time???? Good feeling music and men danced with smiles.
Me and my brother watched this movie so many times as kids on vhs. Every day. Fond memories 😊
brings back good memories such a great movie..:-) :-)
1984 was a good year for breakdance
They way they made this scene is genius. I remember being a kid and trying so damn hard to walk on walls. It was magical.
Saw this gem on the big screen. Turbo was my first crush :)
great memories.....much more innocent time of my life
This was a classic that still stays with me!!🎉😊😊
Whoever thumbs down this video must be High, and down know break dancing with a classic song
Maybe they were on the ceiling and thought it was the like button.
He inspired a lot of people of all nationalities that you can do anything once you put your mind to it ! There was no restrictions !
I swore I could do this when I was a kid so many whippings and knots on my head
Lol
Somebody please etch this in stone for future generations to see, appreciate and be absolutely confused by. Those were some epic floor (ceiling and wall) skills.
Boogaloo shrimp is a dope dancer the song is dope too
Bronny killing it
Ugh Turbo was SO fine.
He is amazing!! The music also matches his moves and style.. Still fresh even in 2021!! ❤❤
I Love the movie so very very much it is so very very good movie Love it
That kiss tho 🤗
The guy that created spongebob said this was his favorite movie as a kid. This would explain him creating spongebog. Look at the wall. 0:18
No trickery here peeps. Turbo really could dance on a ceiling.
Still one of the coolest scenes ever..
I don't know how they did that scence, but it looked so real! I love it! If I could do that in my dreams I would!

My Favorite Scene Luv This Movie And Song
This scene is just insane. They'd probably have to rotate the camera with the rest of the room.
Take me back to the 80s, where life was simple and fun 🥰
I'm only 18 and I love this movie 😂😂
he was lit
How comes this looks more real than all the high budget ,high tech, special effects movie s of today? I'm still scratching my head as to how they pulled this off.
I love this movie. 😭😭😭😭😭
Classic movie. Classic scene!
Childhood memories right here.
Man Turbo pops !!🫰 🔥
I am 42! 🎉❤ Yeah, me! We would wait for this movie and try to record it! Me, would wait to see it , when we could!
This made me wanna Dance! I lost weight, I had the best time of my life! 🎉 I waited for this movie to show up on TV! 42, 1982, and the inspiration is still alive!
You got to love the 80's ❤
The Paris 2024 Olympics Australia performance brought me here. I had to make sure my childhood memories were not just an illusion 😅haha cause that Paris Australia edition wasn’t it.
classic movie, classic scence.... had a crush on latin mami.. 80's baby
Classic
We all did👍
Maaaaaan!! Turbo made this so believable!!!!! Best scene ever!!
He is truly a legend. He taught Michael Jackson the spin moonwalk. Billie Jean from the Victory Tour performed for the first time.
I gotta say, I'm really digging the shoes 👞 👟 he's wearing.
The 80s was 100% The Coolest. Can't be Top. 7 years of age, I remember 😊😁.... The old HBO
This part gets you dizzy when you’re drunk
Fred astaire did this in a film in 1951. The movie i believe is called Royal wedding. This scene was a homage to fred astaire. That's why Ozone made a fred astaire reference in Breakin when they were working at the store. Both the broom scene and this scene is from what fred astaire did in movies.
Turbo was the truth 🔥🔥🔥
Look Ma! No hands! No gravity!
love this movie so much
I tried imitating this dance. I just ended up falling from the ceiling onto my head. I also got hurt doing the safety dance. The 1980's were fun but dangerous.
I used to love me some him♡♡♡♡♡.
I’m 23 and I love this and the broom scene since I was 8 years old
does anyone know that Turbo was Michael Jackson's dance teacher?

I found this funny when she looked up to see turbo spinning around up there he was having the time of his life uo there dancing
Turbo was and still is my favorite. He killed this scene. 80’s baby forever!!!!
Me dancing when I’m by myself.
I Love this scene!! What Happened to this passion!!!🤔
i need to see the making of this part this nigga really looks like he started dancing on the ceiling and they really never changed the camera this shit still go hard
They used a revolving room, the whole room slowly turned to give him the illusion of walking up the walls and on the ceiling
2021 ... Waaooo, 80's was an Amazing Music Time ever!!! ... 💯⚡👍🏻💥
One of the best dance scenes ever
