Is this the same Bane’s World that has had DOZENS of allegations against him over the years for sexual abuse, including of intoxicated minors? 🤔
Yes. But there was absolutely no evidence despite the allegations. Not saying anything though. I still love this music.
@@sirjohn6299 If this is the person I’ve heard about, then testimonial evidence abounds, and apparently not just from victims but from people who have observed questionable behavior. At this point it’s over 3 dozen people making allegations over the course of many many years. The odds of 100% of these allegations being completely fabricated is extremely low.
With that said, he is probably a smart guy. There wouldn’t necessarily be much concrete evidence beyond that. That’s how the most successful predators operate. Of course his music is lovely, that doesn’t change. But it might change the way people choose to listen to it.
To be clear, I’m not saying people should tar and feather him, assault him, or lock him up for life based on flimsy evidence. But I think it’s safe to say that lots of fans would be uncomfortable spending money supporting him, especially if it meant he was put in a position where he could easily get away with abusing more women and girls. At the very least people who want to go check out his music should be aware so they can be safe and keep an eye out for vulnerable girls who may be taken advantage of. With that many allegations made against him it’s impossible to just ignore or pretend it isn’t a serious concern.
@@Updog89 From trying to keep an objective view-point to the situation, I do think it's curious that people kept bringing up the allegations; however, I cannot trust the bulk of the people making these statements because I do not know them nor know the basis they are using to support their allegations. People can often form a strange herd-like mindset when they are all banded together revolving sensitive issues such as this. I rarely trust groups of people being logical, but I do think it is strange many girls brought up such allegations.
One thing that did convince me was that his band mates spoke out against him, but I think they were hypocritical because they turned on him after all the allegations came to light when things got hot for the band. They suddenly they had this "holier than thou" attitude but never brought it up to the extent to stop any potential abuse. I think his band mates caved in to the pressure of the allegations and left him for himself.
I do think it's very likely and possible that he did things with a lot of different girls when he was playing music. I'd imagine he was likened to a rockstar/musician character that slept with a lot of girls, some underage probably. And I also imagined he did things while intoxicated as that is often the case in the music scene. It sucks things probably happened to some girls, because stuff like that doesn't go away ever. But Banes World is gone now and this is what is left over. I get sad listening to this music because me and my X girlfriend loved Banes world. We saw him in concert and I wanted to get married to some of his music. All this stuff really hurt me, I think more than most because I really liked the music and then my X started hating it.

@@sirjohn6299 I appreciate what your saying and that it’s really difficult to reconcile your personal experience and relationship with his music with the possibility that he is not a person you would want to be associated with or support. It’s an impossible situation because no one is perfect and certainly no one is omniscient.
The issue with people bringing up the allegations continually doesn’t surprise me at all, however. If there is a non-zero chance that the allegations are true, people are right to discuss it so that fans can protect themselves and each other, and make decisions about how to spend their money that aligns with their values and conscience. It sucks for him if the allegations are all completely fabricated, but any reasonable adult will understand that with so many allegations from so many years, realistically there is at least some truth to some of them.
I definitely feel you on the icky “holier than thou” bandmates. If he really was a predator it’s extremely unlikely that they were clueless- more likely they were either complicit or willfully ignorant. And if he really is innocent, chances are they have some information that would contradict or call into question at least one or two of the allegations. And if they truly have no idea one way or another if he is fully, they should just keep quiet or make a more neutral statement. They seem slimy.
Despite it all this foo made some great fucking music.. sad and beautiful at the same time
