Finally find you. I use to watch your videos when I use to go school and college over 10 years ago to help me find good fragrances. Can’t believe I found you
I’ve been on a xerjoff buying spree in 2023 (typical newer collector behavior): Naxos, Nio, Uden, Uden Overdose, Tommy Iommi Monkey Special, Ivory Coast, Italica*, and Symphonium. Your reviews are very helpful to challenge my nose to find more within a fragrance. Thanks as always!
Hey, I thought this was my comment, lol. I started also this year in March with my first Xerjoff (naxos) and now I'm at 16 bottles of Xerjoff. My latest is Via Cavour 1, just re- released on oct 16th.
For me this is one of the most photo realistic cardamon scents... I know everyone goes bananas for the YSL but to me the cardamom in there is just a HINT (and a rather synthetic one at that)... So I think for those that really want that cardamom punch, starlight is great... Another I think is FBW is Jovoy's Remember Me... GORGEOUS🎉
One of the best fragrances on the market for fall. Most people get superb performance from it, so hopefully it'll come alive on your skin with more wearings.
Here watching, Marc! Happy Friday! In at about 2:00 right now agree totally about the lukewarmness on the brand but have only tried 3 so far but none are quite ones I find myself reaching for. Looking forward to the rest of the video!
If i want Cardamom king, i go for Alustre, "In The Shadows Of Bergamot". I don't notice any bergamot in it, but the cardamom and cinnamon is in my opinion gorgeous. I'm no expert, so i don't know if it's the best quality cardamom and cinnamon. But sure smells like Christmas.
Great review. Do you believe that fragrances actually macerate to a more potent version or what you see is what you get type of thing? Like you said this is kinda tamed, would maceration boost this up.
I believe maceration makes a difference. To me it not only can make a fragrance stronger but in my experience many of the notes deepen, become more rich and are easier to detect.
@@millenialbroadcast i asked because i was running low on my vintage xerjoff Richwood and purchased a new one in the new bottles and it doesn't seem as potent, and sure i have heard of reformulation and the removal of real mysore sandalwood, but there's a significant difference in potency and was wondering if macerating that new bottle would beef it up.
I got a 10ml on the way now.... Had to try this after being super impressed with symphonium and then seeing your review. I apparently really like cardamom so I should be happy
I've been taken over by cardamom note recently and I love coumarin (Tonka beans' aroma constituent), so I'm going to sample the frag when it's possible. Unfortunately, there are 50 ml bottles only, and not much samples around...
I love Starlight! It does have a Holiday vibe to it for sure. You are right in it does wear light but even at the 8 hour mark it still is there at the same magnitude of the initial sprays And I find that to be unique in itself.
Starlight is a great fragrance, but I prefer Jovoy’s Remember Me. They share many similarities, especially with the cardamom, but Remember Me has more depth and is a little more interesting with the tea and lactonic note which makes it go into a more gourmand territory. Plus it holds up better in the performance department. Great unboxing as always!
always appreciate your input on a scent. recommended as the best cardamom but i wasn't terribly impressed. the original La Nuit de l'Homme smells much better in all aspects and it's only a designer...
I take back all the bad things I’ve said about you. Went and watched some of your older stuff and it was good. (Tauer Morocain). I know I didn’t spell that right. But good review. First 8ish reviews I watched, you didn’t like any of them lol. But I get it.
Hello ive got a question, I just got my Xerjoff-Starlight, however my box has a brown/red stain and the flask doesnt have the „shooting stars“ inscription on it. I checked that with a friends perfume bottle. Is mine legit or not, i dont know. Everything else is the same, the smell, the performance… Maybe they misprinted mine, idk
I just sold 4 Xerjoffs, Alexandria II & III, Luxor & Golden Dallah after quickly going off them, but Starlight was a keeper for me. I really don't get the hype for the Alexandria's though. A2 is like a standard designer scent, like something Paco Rabanne makes for teenagers. A3 is just another standard rose/oud, maybe a little better than most, but not much.
@@georgeskanderbeg3242 Yeah, it's pleasant enough & made to be mass appealing & youthful, but I'm looking for something more interesting & unique in perfumery.
@@robes08 It's not bad, but don't expect a coffee scent, cause you'll be very disappointed. Smells nothing like the listed notes. There is a bit of coffee but it's way in the background. It's a weird one, so you might like it, but I couldn't stop detecting a wet wipe or moisturiser smell which really put me off.
Haven't tried many Xerjoff fragrances, It still doesn't make click for me, I like Kobe, I might get a bottle but I'm not in a hurry, there's a lot of brands that I prefer over Xerjoff. Thanks for the unboxing Marc!!!
Don't know why but the performance of Starlight on me is pretty awful. You can say light and restrained again. Can't imagine anyone would smell this on you in the winter. 🤔

Are you calling me a new collector? I bought 8 Xerjoff's as well lol.
@@robes08 oh no I was teasing myself for overbuying as a new collector, you had a specific focused list. I was all over the place lol

I have a 2019 bottle of Starlight and it’s beast mode!
I can hardly see this being beastmode on me, but i'll keep my nose on it. It did last on my skin that day tho.
@@thebridewearsblack do you know any discounters that sell old batches?
Great thoughts looking forward to trying this one! Might be further back on my list now though, as is much of the house! Appreciate you, Marc!
Appreciate you coming by!

it did last a good 7-8 hours on this first testing which is positive. I didn't think it would last

Think I may slow down on the Xerjoff brand in 2024. I did enough this year with them, time to spotlight other brands.

honestly it may effect it a bit but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Having an extensive collection, and playing with dif olfactory notes, I believe they do macerate over time, and their 'true color' comes out

Starlight is a masterpiece
it is good.

Thanks for sharing, I think I have a sample of Remember me somewhere around here lol.
Great review. Robes is truly one of the best in the game!
Appreciate it!
Any similarity to Gris Charnel EDP? Im debating between starlight and gris charnel EDP for Fall/Winter signature.
Thanks for letting me know the amber is brimming from the vanilla type smell u claim to be getting
💯
Nice man I just buy it yesterday and boom you do a video of starlight nice man I make a good buy
weird how the stars align at times..
Appreciate this Marc ⭐
Thank you my friend!

I'm on the fence (like you) with that statement. It's very good but i'll keep testing and see how it goes.

Starlight es una de las mejores que he olido de Xerjoff

Brands change packaging all the time, including xerjoff. If you bought it from a retailer no worries.
Been waiting on this one
Cool
Happy to finally deliver it!

Don't care much about Xerjoffs but Alexandria 2 is amazing

I still need to get my nose on Golden Dallah.

You might need a nose transplant if Alexandria 2 is a standard designer scent for teenagers.🤦♂️😂👊
I hated naxos when i first smelled it! Totally overhyped! Made me sick! Really want to hear marcs take on that
it's close to being unboxed.

I feel about the same as you about the brand.
Yesterday I wished for Xerjoff Naxos, honestly it's a joke compared to Jubilation XXV, Amouage is two classes above
So i'll be disappointed lol
@@robes08 For me it's not enough, it's quality, but compared to Amouage it's a beginner
Can you compare it to Jovoy remember me?
To me they are similar yes, but the cardamom is heavier on Starlight
@@thebridewearsblack The question is if I owned remember me is it logical to go for Starlight?
I cannot, I don't have enough wearings to compare.

Starlight: Would it be the light of a Christmas tree star?
no, not strong enough.
