@@stanajaemin of course they deserve lines, but at the same time I don’t think anybody’s looking at them and saying ‘they should sacrifice their lines to Kun’. There are members with pretty big chunks for line distribution; personally as much as I like Doyoung and Jaehyun I feel like Kun could have taken part of their high note, especially since they already had lines prior to that moment.

well technically, this is 4 songs in 1 so it’s kinda a mess 😅 each member took their lines from the respective sub unit they were in, but the part where it gets a lil messy is when you realize they put all the main vocalists in a subunit for a song that wasn’t included here so they made them do a bunch of adlibs to make up for it 😭😭😭

It's just SM too stingy(?) for 23 members they only made a 4-5 minutes song. If they make at least more than 7 minutes song everyone will atleast have more than 7 seconds line ;)

I’d like to mention how doyoung mentioned how for the ot23 song to happen, all 4 songs should have the same key (which is why the 4 songs were chosen). Regarding lines, it’s much better (and i definitely recommend!) to watch their performance in MAMA since the voices are more distinct esp during raise the roof choruses. Also, I saw some comments that some members looked like back up dancers which is honestly really a wrong mindset - especially when you compare resonance to black on black where almost majority of the members didnt even have proper center time. They really improved a lot even from that alone. I’m glad that wayv were able to get center time and show off what they can do.
In resonance, especially when you watch the performance, you’re able to really appreciate how good all 23 of them are when performing. I know they’re all good in their respective units but they’re definitely more powerful when together :)
@taeil mainvocal Amongall mainvocals hi! My comment really wasnt to defend the line distributions, its really just to praise ALL the members for working hard on their NCT2020 project. I know the project has a lot of short comings too. I’m sure you know that they used the chorus of raise the roof as the main chorus of resonance so it means that all 23 members are going to perform it but at some point, some members do step out and the main members of raise the roof stay :) I hope you don’t drag other members. It’s okay to show dissatisfaction with the song and distribution but don’t drag other members when doing so!
Very good point! If we only look at line distributions, then the main vocals and main rappers are gonna get more lines for sure (except Kun, who participated in less units. They did him bad ;-;). Since the group has so many people, it's impossible to get it fair just through the singing (they could barely do that with less than 10 members), so it'll be balanced out by the performance. Members with less lines get center time, or will be closer to the center. It's a difficult task, but certainly it was much better than Black on Black.

It's kinda fair for a group of 23 members. Kun has no line but he got center time at least, Jisung injured but if he's in the song, he would get center time as well. Taeil, Haechan, Renjun got adlibs. But the only one who is being mistreated here is Chenle, no proper line nor adlib (can't call that yeah yeah a "line" if you ask me), no center nor screen time? All the adlibs weren’t really lines, and if you’re just listening to the song without the MV or any performances then center time doesn’t really count. Sm does have a history of treating foreign idols differently in exo though, so I hope this isn’t the start of one of those cases
he sang if you count raise the roof and again this song is liked compiled so of course they're will be more members with no lines, i personally think this line distribution is quite fair as it is just compiled song but if this is like a whole new song then that's where it is considered unfair
