I recently bought a two tone Bluesy Sub from a Rolex AD I have no purchase history with on an ad hoc walk in. Total spontaneous purchase. I feel in these times it is possible to buy Rolex watches you actually want as the market has adjusted back to some level of normality post covid. Later this year or even next year the exhibition only stance may start to lift.
Hey Brendan, another great video!! Very Helpful watch update. I broadly agree with your comments, I'm a Omega fan boy, but I do like the Explorer II 226 ref. And there are loads of steel sports models on the grey market in and around RRP.
My AD said about 2 per colour a year. But it also seems based on luck on when you visit or relationship, as after 3 months I was lucky to get the call for a green dial and love the watch.
I also waived a blue dial Yachtmaster steel in recent days. Guys these watches are coming through get to your AD and see what’s available. You don’t have to go grey. Stay patient and keep your powder dry.
Brendan, you own the OP41, do you think that is better value at £7000 than waiting a little while and maybe getting the new white Omega Speedmaster with a bit of discount for a similar price?
I agree but some ADs are complicit in this system. Grey market already has 2024 never worn watches for sale and usually the hottest models. There can’t be that many private parties reselling watches.
@@BrendanBoswell looking for an Everose sky dweller with blue dial but AD (no purchase history)just said they’d let me know when one was available. No response when I asked about availability so I’m just waiting for the prices to come down more on the grey market as I understand the audience for the PMs is soft.
I bought the green dial 41 on the grey for $13K Canadian. To me it's worth it because I waited 3 years and said life is short. I picked up and Air king and a DateJust in 2023 from an AD. No regrets.
I bought a green dial before the market went crazy for $8k. Sold in 12 months later for $16k at the top of the market b4 the slide. I guess "I'm part of the problem." But given the opportunity, I'd do it again and feel fine😅
Got the green for 5700 from a London AD (3 week wait but felt longer) but thought I didnt like it, flipped it for a bit of a profit then missed it. Got the 2024 in black from the same AD for a bit less...happy with this one, I think I'll keep it (for a while anyway 🙄).
You’re absolutely right with this video. You covered a lot of topics. 1. For every piece there is a ceiling price everyone has and best idea is to buy and get it over with. 2. For first time buyers, no AD will sell you anything except lowest starter tier 3. I keep hearing “the watch market is dead”, I laughed at what you said and it’s totally true. The watch market is dead yet you don’t see any available for sale at the AD. So how does that work 😂. But yes the watch market is dead somehow 🤦♂️ 4. Prices will only continue to rise and pieces harder for anyone to get, unless you go grey. Keep the videos and coming, you have great content. Ps. Producer did buy the OP he already owned and one less collector was able to get it. As I said, he is a greedy and cheap old man
Great watches but not worth paying over retail for on the grey market. There are other brands that are available that are on par with Rolex. If you have money to burn then feel free to do what you want with your money. A good debating video.
Market does feel different. Literally walked into a random AD today with no purchase history or existing relationship, wife saw the datejust she wanted and they sold it to us immediately.
Hi Brendan, I managed to get a green dial OP41 from an AD from which I had no buying history with within 3 months. The watch was ordered in Jan 24 with a £1k deposit and received April 24.
I’m glad you’re saying it’s two years for a OP. I bought a Tudor instead rofl. I don’t want to pay for another watch. Getting a kid so 2 years until I’ll be allowed to buy a new one 😂
the future for Rolex is not steel...sadly this is the trend for them . They're pushing towards precious metals more and more each year. For me it's sad as they depart from their tool watch roots more and more.
All the UA-camrs claiming a few months ago Rolex was available at Retail on the day to anyone… yeah a YachtMaster on an Oysterflex or a hideous Datejust combination perhaps…

The Rolex oyster perpetual is overpriced! at retail probably about £1500 overpriced. This is why we have the constant need to spunk gold diamonds platinum to justify prices. How desperate do you have to be to get a Rolex to pay $10000 or more for a $6000 watch? Wearing a low end Rolex is not kudos, it’s desperation. Very very pathetic. In addition, there are 3000000 replicas in the US alone, according to experts on counterfeiting. A low end Rolex is the easiest to counterfeit.
