- Since I have recently finished all the DMC games available, I decided to rank them all from one of the worst games of the 2000s, to one of the coolest and most badass games ever made.

I know no one agrees, but I absolutely love DMC Devil May Cry. It's just so fluid, with great enemy design, and I love the grappling hooks. Someone has to speak up for it.

I liked what little of it I played. Granted I only played about 2 hours I think. I'll probably buy it again. Just wish it was on Switch too because that would be incredibly convenient.

I enjoyed DMCs combat system, it felt really smooth. Sure the story wasn't there, but I feel it gets too much hate
Coming fresh off fromsoft souls game than ghost of tsushima n now dmc5..dmc5 isn't really hitting the missions just seem pointless combos are fire but man just feels really pointless not sure what to play next

I have over 600 hours in the franchise, among my favorite franchise right next to MGS and Souls borne. Played every difficulty and every vanilla version as every special edition. If I had to rank the games i would have to separate into two categories.
Ranked based on gameplay:
6.) DMC 2
5.) DMC 1
4.) DMC 3
3.) DMC 5
2.) DMC Reboot
1.) DMC 4

DMC 1 allowed you to switch between Alastor and Ifrit by pressing the right analog stick. Though it played an animation and wasn't instant like DMC3.
As someone who’s still hasn’t played dmc yet. This list will give me an idea on what to play and not lmao
I think it’s best to play all of them. DmC definitive edition’s combat alone is worth it if its on sale. And DMC2 is bundled with 1 and 3 in the HD collection, which is probably the best way to currently play the PS2 games.
play them in order of release and skip the reboot, its what I did
Start with DMC 3, as it is the first game in the timeline, then DMC 1, DMC 2 (you don't need to play all of it, just a bit so you can feel the whiplash of quality from the worst in the series to one of the best) DMC 4, then DMC 5. The reboot can be skipped, the writing is a hit or miss for some, but the combat and level design are really quite good
My list would probably look something like this
1. Switch version of DMC3
2. DMC5
3. DMC4
4. Ps2 and HD collection version of DMC3 (yes, the style switching makes all of the difference IMO)
5. DMC1
6. DMC2
Haven't played the reboot yet.

I know the DMC placing is controversial, but I love that game.

4 isnt my favorite but i have a soft spot for it cause i never had a PS2 and it was my introduction to the franchise on 360
DMC3 Special Edition for the Switch is my Favorite
General agree with the list though; I would swap Devil May Cry 4 over Devil May Cry (original). The combat is significantly better even when considering bosses being re-used and Devil May Cry just hasn't aged gracefully. Do agree that Devil May Cry 5 is a direct upgrade to Devil May Cry 3.
For me the only DMC game I haven’t played yet is DMC4

You can switch between Alastor and Ifrit in dmc1 by pressing in the right joystick.
I enjoyed the video but I wanted to touch upon one remark you made about DMC3 that being "Turns boys into men". You didn't elaborate much on that remark but I will connect it with the Cerberus boss fight. I think that anyone who beat Cerberus in the original US normal difficulty came to be(or they maybe already were) the hardcore players today. The crowd who eat difficult modes in games for breakfast. That's all I wanted to say.
🗡👹😭Can y'all just stop hating on Devil May Cry 2 it's not a bad game sure I may have it's unfinished quality but it's still separately a good game and I like seeing Dante in a depressed state after the loss of his brother and Devil May Cry one...who's with me on this🗡👹😭

I’d enjoyed DMC 2 also! I absolutely love the dark atmosphere, level designs, and music. I’m currently trying to achieve 100% completion and it’s been a lot of fun! Trish is soooo OP!!
I agree with the list but i want to change some things so here's my ranking:
WARNING: this is my opinion if something for you isn't right then ignore it

No words needed, game is just too good.

Very good game, graphics are amazing! Gameplay is even better. Story? Decent

Who thought making a reboot for a good game series is a good idea? capcom of course.
gameplay is SHIT, story is SHIT, graphics are ONLY good thing. This game ruined DMC and i don't like it.

No words needed, everything is shit about this game.
DMC3 and DMC5 are a tie for me. 3s story is better but 5s gameplay is easily the best escaplly the special edition on ps5.
I think early DMC fans will mainly agree with this list.
The only ones that ever fluctuate are 1/4 and 3/5.
Regarding the reboot, there's nothing wrong with loving it. It was just a disappointment for the long time fans, mainly cause we were waiting for the story to continue more than anything.
Yeahh, this is gonna be my tier list as well, still playing DMC 5 Bloody Palace to death till this day.

i'd swap 4 with the reboot, but solid list and great argument! picked up on the games recently, finished them all, one of if not the best franchise imo
I would love this game if didn't leave the main Canon. If it worked like a prequel where every other mission you switch journeys, but coming from dmc3 and 4 characters that were better written just did this game injustice, but now that we know this isn't a star wars legends thing we can appreciate it better. Its a c though instead of a d now. The paid dlc for vergil and bloody palace was bad and dantes dt sucked and dantes hair turning white was kinda cringe at the end, it looked low quality.
