Unfortunately, it is already installed so I can't re-install it. But it is pretty easy to DIY. Feel free to message us on facebook if you would like some pointers on installing etc. The basic components for this install were: - 20L water jerry can - 1 Barb end with breather or similar. - 1 Barb with thread on one side to screw into jerry can. - 1-2m of food-grade water hose. - Shurflo 4009 12v water pump - Rocker switch + housing - 1 stainless/plastic ball valve tap with 13mm hose barb. - 5-6 stainless hose clamps (worm drive)
This is just what I’ve been looking for. Great job! Quick question tho..... I attempted a similar set up but without the pump. The barb I used from gunning at the bottom of the can kept leaking into my cab! Any suggestions for keeping it from dripping? 😩🤞🏻
A shit tonne of blue thread tape :D I don't trust Poly BSP fittings, so I usually use ridiculous amount of thread tape, but not enough to cause the fitting to break etc. Were you setting up a gravity feed system?
how do you fill it without removing the can and/or plumbing? If you are running a hose into the cab are you running the risk of an overflow and soaking your interior? Try further extending the hose to your breather pipe so it comes outside of the cab with a one way valve and hose terminator.. This way your "original" opening at the top can get opened up as a filler breather and then closed when its all full and the pressure relief when you turn tap/pump on will come through the original breather hose as air wont trigger the one-way valve but water will.
That sounds pretty involved, I like to keep things pretty simple - the only way water will leak out of the breather how it is currently setup, is if I'm on my roof. With the filling of the jerry, I can actually very easily reach in from the passenger door, undo the cap and put a hose in. I simply fill it using an in-line flow meter on the hose and I put exactly 20L in - works perfectly :) But just in case that fails and I put more than 20L in, I have a finger sitting on the inside of the filler opening, so if the water reaches my finger, I have about 10 seconds to stop filling. Not the most high tech system, but it keeps the costs down and does the job :) Plus it is easily expandable in the future. Cheers mate!

It's great that you added the point about using it for fire extinguishing.
Great idea
Thanks so much!
Awesome! Do you think you can make a video showing your 12v water system setup from scratch? Drawboard to materials and intall?

@@OdinsonOverland lol Nice! Cheers mate 😉 Yep gravity feed but want to add a pump do found your vid v useful! Cheers 👏🏼
Nice work mate. A simple and cost effective system.
Thanks mate :)
Nicely done ! I have an on board 10 gallon system but it is gravity fed. Your 12v system is perfect !
