One of my all time faves from her! Right after she had released “We Need A Resolution” (which is, IMO, her MOST underrated and under appreciated song) and the lackluster reception that genius of a song had, Aaliyah and her label were in disagreement over what singles were going to be released next (they also disagreed over what the first single was going to be as well). So they decided to film “More Than A Woman”, then film “Rock The Boat” about a month or so later. If you haven’t reacted before, I highly suggest these from Aaliyah:

Omg , can’t believe you reacted to my goddess “ Aaliyah” I was actually in a NYC club the day she passed away and I didn’t know anything , then suddenly the music stopped and the lights were off and the Dj started playing “ We need a Resolution . It was so emotional ! Another song you should have a listen to is “ Try again “ and “ Are you that somebody” Definitely gone to soon !

Loved this reaction... The way your jaw dropped when the music started. The production was ahead of its time, you should definitely do Rock the boat next I have a feeling you'll enjoy the song as well as the production. Its one of those songs that with each listen you find more to love about it. And to me you can't really find nor here that kinda sound anywhere it so good. She is missed

Oh cool! I grew up listening to her :) "Don't know what to tell ya", "Try Again", "We need a resolution", "Miss you" so much hits... we all love those Timbaland productions 💖 the man is a genius.
Also, the best was sampled from a celebrated Arabic song (decades old now), but Timbaland was heavily inspired by Arabic/Middle Eastern artists and music

Timbaland wasn’t on third album much he only did 2 songs which was “ we Need a resolution “ and “Try Again “ he was not the writer or producer of this song I think her & Static & J Bud produced along with other new producers produced most of Aaliyah’s last album, I believe during this time Aaliyah, Missy and Timbaland were growing apart and had a huge fight over her creative differences and her music and her relationship with them to the point where Timbaland only did 2 songs & the rest was done by other music producers that Aaliyah herself picked.
From a interview with Missy she explained that they, her , Aaliyah and Timbaland never got to reconnect after their fight with Aaliyah because she died before they could reconcile their friendship and work relationship sadly.
From a source close to Aaliyah and Static they claim that Aaliyah, Missy and Timbaland got into a heated argument and fight over Aaliyah’s creative differences and the way Aaliyah wanted to go with her new sound and style & she was thinking about moving to a different music company away from Missy and Timbaland which made them pissed off to the point where they were flat out yelling and screaming and arguing and cussing each other out and so you’ll see no Missy Elliott and little of Timbaland on Aaliyah’s last album .

Unfortunately, prior to the announcement from just a few weeks ago, you couldn’t add it to a playlist on Spotify because her music is not available to stream due to legal issues her uncle and record label owner was going through (he says her mom, his sister, didn’t want her music released, but that’s bs. There’s an article from a couple years back that spills the truth, but I digress). This song will be available to stream sometime in early September. Her album prior to this and the one Timbaland and Missy worked extensively on when they were unknowns, One In A Million, will be available to stream in a few days on the 20th.
Also, she has a plethora of reaction-worthy stuff. The one I suggest the most is “We Need A Resolution” (Featuring Timbaland), which is from this same album. Also recommend “If Your Girl Only Knew”, “Are You That Somebody (Featuring Timbaland)”, “Try Again” (sort of Featuring Timbaland), “4 Page Letter”, “Miss You”, and ofc, “Rock The Boat”

They were such an incredible team, I think this sound is still futuristic, slick and definitely stands the test of time.
