This tutorial is outstanding!!! What an incredible job!!! I loved the ending with the singing of the birthday boy. What a lucky little guy. I also appreciate the use of tools you have laying around the kitchen. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on cake supplies. Keep the tutorials coming... Love your work!
AMAZING! What a lucky little boy & such a fabulous birthday spread. After reading your blog I giggled about when he said "yuck, yuck" & didn't want to eat the dirt until you showed him it was a delicious treat. Then I thought... I hope he doesn't go & try to find more "yum, yum dirt" outside. If I were two, I might be confused & would certainly be on the hunt for more delicious "dirt" treats! Let's face it, cake rocks & cookie dirt is well worth hunting for such yummy treats. Amazing talents!!
This is....WOW!!!! I am from Trinidad and Tobago and i am about to start my own Cake decorating business. This is great motivation and Inspiration. What else can I say but Thank you for posting this. I am going to try it.
My god, you're amazing! Your attention to detail, your patience, your dedication, your ingenuity, it's just awesome. Your kids are really lucky to have such a talented mum.
Hi clara, You can buy gelatin powder of sheets, bloomed is the term used when you have let it sit in a small amount of cold water and it swells and goes soft. :)
Hi brackenUD if wanting to make it that far ahead make sure you use some simply syrup on the cake to keep it moist. Do not add the back tray of the truck. Add that on and fill it with dirt and rocks a few hours before you need the cake so it doesn't go soft and break. :D
O,O Whoa... Lots of work & time in that! Really great work! Be sure to show him this when he gets older... Especially the teen years if he goes through the "You never cared about me at all!" pout I've heard so much evil of. So you can say, "Now see here... Does That Look like I never cared?" I would guess it would cure it pretty quick if anything would. [chuckles]
hi tania, I am in Australia and our max temps in summer here are hot too. But the buttercream doesn't 'melt' as icing the cakes. Once iced I store it in the fridge and bring out 30 min before serving to allow to soften. Try using the buttercream recipe on the blog if you click on 'show more' below the video you will see the link to the blog
hi sleepingdancer, im so glad you found the channel ... have you watched some of my older tutorials ... minion cakes, instagram cakes, chocolate lava cake ... there should be plenty to keep you going for a while :)
Wow! I'm impressed! From: far away; Finland! I've been loving/subscribing your videos when you had only 100 viewers! And I've got to tell you, you're really talented!
Made this for my three year old on Feb. 21 and he wanted to push it around LOL. But her LOVED it. And I also made your Hello Kitty one for my 8 y/o birthday on Jan 5. They think I am a cake goddess! LOL, glad they aren't allowed on UA-cam just yet.
alybear202 YES! My daughter wants edible ballet shoes and the balance bar( she's a gymnast and dancer) on her next cake.... I don't think my super mom phase is going to last long! LOL
Wow, Amazing! You did an awesome job on this cake. Thanks so much for sharing. My 51 yo Husband is Super Jealous of your Little Trucker now. Many Happy Returns to the Spunky Little Dude for his special day as well :)
I love how even though your creations aren't perfect they are still amazing... Like when you tell us in the voice over there is something we should do that you haven't to make it even better... Just shows that you are human and everyone learns by experience... Thank you for your awesome videos!
Errmerrgerdd this is so legend :DDD I completely LOVE your videos, I don't really know what I want to be when I grow up, but seeing how you make cooking so much fun I've thought about being a chef or a cake decorator or something like that xD I realllllly want to make something for my brother who loves trucks and stuff (he's 12 but acts like a baby :3 ) and I am sooooo going to ask if I can make this for his birthday! Thank you so much for uploading this and I will totally subscribe because the
Thanks, but got your message a bit too late. Assembled the cake 15 hrs before serving and you're right, the tray did break!! But it was nothing super glue and duct tape couldn't fix . haha ;-) Thanks the cake was a huge success particularly after I added flashing hazard lights and a personalised silver rego plate! Ive just uploaded a video on youtube,so check it out. :)
You are awesome ... Do you run bakery ? or a Cake store ? It would be awesome. There are mom who are as talented as you are, but still want these cake for their kids
Hi Anne , i Was looking for a bacco cake since my dad's birthday is comming up and i was so worried i wouldn't find any and thanks to you im gunna try this out :D theres alot of steps to it but one i watch the video like litteraly 20 times im good (:
•play games/apps/games/app games, gently/touch the items, read their names carefully and then look them up/type them in on the internet •take a closer look at images/photos/pics/pictures of the items’ names i tapped on & read •make party lists •play online alphabet letter games for little kids and spell out the titles/names of each special event being counted down and looked forward to so Christmas returns faster and faster & even go on a “symbols that go with holidays to celebrate and special occasions” •have my little dolls and other cute little things to play with atop my pictures all the time dramatic role play what they want and my/their own ways •have my creative/imaginative/artistic/talented mind creatively, imaginatively and artistically tell me what the app games are about and how to play them and what you do throughout each one.
With a pre-cake making mind, this is a great idea and a good guide. On reflection, there is a level of detail that is just completely missed from either the written or video instructions. For the bucket at the back of the truck you must make way in advance... this must be full dry and this would have taken more than a week. As a result mine was too heavy and collapsed around the cake... with some quick thinking 15 mins before the party I managed to recover it. This isn't a trolling post but there requires a lot more attention to detail on the instructions given before I would recommended this to anyone else. For example, why are there no instructions anywhere telling us what temperature to bake the cake... isn't that a no brainer to add?... The cake did taste delicious but could have ended in disaster if the timings given were followed. Let just say that biscuits were made at the same time as cake. If you are a novice (like me) this will take a long time to make... I reckon I took some 20+ hours over the week to prepare and build this cake. You didnt't tell us that, did you Ann??!! Anyway...Great Idea, Great Tasting Cake but video and instructions lack some key details.
Hi katey, my 2-year-old absolutely loves trucks too! Glad your boy enjoyed it.
