Most great violinists play bach to show off their violin techniques, while Mr. Hadelich plays Bach to show people how perfectly these pieces can be interpreted.
Wow! This is probably one of the cleanest interpretations I’ve heard. Every note shined and sparkled as it should. What I would give to see this live once in my lifetime..
This is one of those pieces of music that doesn't seem challenging at first, and then you try to play it yourself and you absolutely fail at it. Listening to this was an absolute pleasure that made my morning. Thank you Augustin.
Everything about this performance - the stunning clarity and articulation, the tuning, the warm sound, the wonderful phrasing and the voicing took my breath away.
The clarity, the joy, the precision - what a wonderful rendition of this piece. The sound you can coax from your violin is incredible. so bright, so alive ... I wish Bach could hear you.
In this hard time of social and political turmoil, environmental degradation, poverty, and pandemic you have brought such happiness and light to an otherwise bleak world. Thank you.
I've always loved the sound of solo Bach played with a Baroque bow, and especially Hadelich's interpretation (love how he plays the A minor fugue and the Andante from the second sonata)
The chords roll so cleanly on the older style bow don't they. The modern bow sometimes chokes on the rolling arpeggios. There was a reason why the music of the times was the style it was, it evolved for the instruments of the time and their capabilities.
I don't like to use the notion of perfection in art because I think it's not relevant, but that would be as close as you can get. Astounding, what a magnificent sound and phrasing, each note and inflection, every hair on the bow is under musical and poetic control. Just magnificent ! I need to have this record !
I almost never find anything in Hadelich's interpretation to criticize but here I actually think he's playing this a bit too fast. Otherwise, it is perfection, and absolutely gorgeous!👍💗
Wow. Augustine continues to push the envelope and continues to impress, bringing a new sound to classical music. Here comes the next wave of great soloists lead by Augustine!
I love your Bach Partita no.3 Preludio!!! I hope to go to your concert again in NYC! Your recent concert with Mostly Mozart & Maestro Langree was just amazing!!!
From watching all the Ask Augustin videos, I can't help but feel so calm despite the animated and sprite energy of this performance. Thank you for your calm yet focused energy, it's very captivating and healing.
I purchased Augustin's Bach and LOVE IT! He brings a fresh look, sound, and feel to Bach's timeliness works. Augustin's textures, tempos, and bowing bring new life and energy. I have enjoyed these sonatas for decades with various violinists. Now, I wish Bach composed more just so I can enjoy listening to Augustin play them. Augustin's violin playing is my "go-to" when I need an emotional lift and a mental stimulus. He enlivens his listeners. (He also shocks listeners with lightning speeds almost too fast to comprehend, unbelievably fast runs using separate bows instead of slurs. I didn't even know it was possible. )
I am trying to play this piece, so it is taking a lot of training at home. The other day I played this video for my wife and she couldn't believe we were both playing the same piece :(
Augustin, you're playing is mesmerising, and your technique is devilishly beautiful. One thing that I learnt doing music is that it makes us different and our interpretation towards life becomes very different in a good way. I just have one last thing to say.. I LOVE YOUR WORK!!!!🙏🙏🙏🎻🎻🎻
If Augustin is playing it, there's always room for another recording, whatever the piece is. This is basically the platonic ideal of what this piece is supposed to sound like.

So many recordings of this piece.. however.. this is one of the finest I've ever heard. I truly admire you, Mr Hadelich!
Yes!!! So crisp and clear. Arguably the finest living violinist. Preordered my copy of his new CD!
I agree 100% !
He makes it so musical
Wow! This is probably one of the cleanest interpretations I’ve heard. Every note shined and sparkled as it should. What I would give to see this live once in my lifetime..
Comparing this to my playing is like comparing a guarneri del gesù vs an amazon plastic violin
beautifully stated :)
One Name: NATHAN MILSTEIN...However Augustin is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!
@@marlenemeldrum7382 I’m pretty sure u meant Hilary Hahn😹
My favorite violinist playing a piece from my favorite composer?? ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT!!!
Best performance of this Bach Prelude!!!👍👍👍
I do not have classical music education, but Augustin is a living legend, his play is so clean and emotional.
Bach. Augustin. Le duc. Baroque bow.
Heaven.
I didn't know that someone could play like that, extremely beautiful.
This is one of those pieces of music that doesn't seem challenging at first, and then you try to play it yourself and you absolutely fail at it. Listening to this was an absolute pleasure that made my morning. Thank you Augustin.
The dislike is from someone who couldn't play it
Really lovely interpretation, Hadelich, thanks!!!
Mind-blowingly clean and sweet, absolute best version
Everything about this performance - the stunning clarity and articulation, the tuning, the warm sound, the wonderful phrasing and the voicing took my breath away.
Is it only me or I am loving the background of every video?
Great and light interpretation too 💛
The clarity, the joy, the precision - what a wonderful rendition of this piece. The sound you can coax from your violin is incredible.
so bright, so alive ... I wish Bach could hear you.
Hadelich truly is the "violinist's violinist"
The high pitched end note...yes!!! Thank you Hadelich
In this hard time of social and political turmoil, environmental degradation, poverty, and pandemic you have brought such happiness and light to an otherwise bleak world.
Thank you.

Augustin Hadelich's bach prelude is so emotional. I love it❤
Beautiful sound!!!👏
Partita no.3 is my favorite!🎻
Most of us who play the violin regularly hide ourselves away and play unaccompanied Bach inspired by scintillating playing like this. Just wonderful.
Amazing, clear tone! I loved the phrasing and musical choices. Well done, Mr. Hadelich!
Looking back, we’re now aware of why we heard so much Bach over the beginning of the quarantine! It’s all been so beautiful!❤️🌟🌟🌟
BRAVO Hadelich!!!!!!!!!!!
This recording absolutely✨sparkles✨
