i didnt want to see Star Wars if it had anything to do with Star Trek which I found boring as a child, having grown up on the far more exciting Lost in Space. I had to go see it in summer day camp because everyone wanted to see this movie instead of getting exercise by playing soccer in the great outdoors. but once i finally saw the movie, I became a dedicated fan. Im glad it was nothing like the original Star Trek.
Thanks for your review. I kinda wanted to see it but was afraid it might be too nerd fanboy and from a younger P.O.V. than mine (47) that I wouldn't trust. But I see that it's what we don't have as much anymore - something with broad appeal to an American and worldwide audience. I remember wanting more from TV as it progressed and then experiencing the boom of the internet but looking back, TV had experiences I miss, like specials. I love watching those Battle of the Network Stars shows from the 70s. Think of all the kids who tried to lift objects with the force. I remember doing that.
I was 9 years old when I saw Star Wars in the movie theater in 77’. The very first thing that I can remember coming out Star Wars related was this: Wonder bread had a promotion where they put a different star wars card in weekly in a loaf of bread. I can remember going with my Mom to the grocery store every week just so I could grab the loafs & look through & make sure I got a different card. Months later my mind was completely BLOWN when they had C3PO& R2D2 figures hanging up at the same geocery store. Which I still have to this day. I loved the special cause I was sooo star wars hungry for ANYTHING as a 10 year old in 78’!
I remember the Star Wars special during the fever of the first movie- but it sucked so bad that my mind made me forget it. George needed the money to boost his merchandising and fuel the next movie.
You’re just as engaging talking about Star Wars as you are about Casio
Greg is a STAR WARS fan - Perfect !!! ☺

Casio must be slowing down their new watch releases. LOL
