She sings like this irl too. I saw her last night. She needs zero auto tune, no stage performers, nothing. She is incredible. She also know how to play guitar, violin, and piano, while also being fluent in English, French, and Arabic. She also taught herself how to sing, no lessons ever. Incredible.

A bit too much...A performer, like so many of the kind. Certainly not the "best", if that means anything in fact! To your taste an that's different. On facts. Range, versatility, creativity, textures, colours, story telling, capacity to evoke deep emotions Soul...only one covers that rainbow and it's Angelina Jordan ..In my point of view and the view of so many professionals. As Quincy Jones has said about her : " The greatest talent since Michael Jackson "

@@jean-claudeledanois1247 wrong! Faouzia has a far superior voice that can change in tone, volume, strenght and capacity to do trills ,melismas and sing equally in French and Arabic and Jordan who I have heard is very good but doesn't cover the range and piano and songwriting abilities of Faouzia. She is the greatest talent since Sia,Beyonce and Whitney Houston

@@jean-claudeledanois1247 Quincy Jones has not heard of Faouzi. No one has ever requested that he promote Faouzi, either. The real singing experts would not make exaggerated and non sequitur statements, do they? I'm not sure what you're trying to do by rambling on about a bunch of abstract words in your head. But comparing this girl's restricted range to Faouzia's mezzo-soprano range makes me wonder if you're trying to bully Angelina. Singer's vocal ranges and techniques are competencies, and where they can reach them is not based on the taste or preference of their fans. Besides, you don't even know Faouzia's vocals and musician resume

@@chocohornchen2089 My friend the fact that you are refering to Beyonce says it all. Your comment on miss Jordan is so ridiculous, but so laughable, that I will have great pleasure to share it with all those professionals an vocal coaches who praise Angelina Jordan. Of course she is far more gifted, this has not to be prove any longer. Your taste goes to Faousia, I have no problem with that , but it doesn't aloud you to say rubbish. You should be able to make the difference between talent( Faousia ) and sheer genius.(AJ)

Also her covers are amazing, she changes the original songs completely and make them even better like (blue da ba dee - middle child - paparazzi- starboy - crazy..... etc)
Also her upbeat songs are amazing like (puppet - hero - the road - this mountain - my heart's grave - rip love )

I'm so confused right now! Is this your opinion after you heard one song by her or a couple or all?!!! Coz no way that you hear all of her songs either original or a cover and you'd say this!!! Coz her songs are amazing melodically and lyrically. But then again, to each his own and anyway the majority idolize her and see her as a talented, fresh, out of the box singer, including me. People think; me included, that she makes every cover her own and maybe even better than the original and as for her originals; they are so authentic and that's what matters. But like I said, to each his own I guess.

No, too commercial to my taste..I like to be surprise, each time you know what to expect. They are so many who sings similar. I even had a look to her performance in Montreux Jazz festival, and again same commercial rendition. One thing is certain after viewing this performance she is definitely not a Jazz singer's ..Good luck to her...

I am SO HAPPY you did a reaction to Faouzia! She's amazing, has been in my top favorites from the moment I heard her voice. I would definitely recommend Tears of Gold - stripped, next is Bad Dreams - dark and gorgeous, and Don't Tell Me I'm Pretty - it's very unique and more synthetic in terms of sound which she likes doing a lot. Also Elon and This Mountain are on equal footing, but I would start with those first 3. Can't wait to see more!

Faouzia is one of my favorite female singers. I love her dark timbre and her powerful voice. She is not only a singer but also a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (piano, violin, guitar, percussion instruments). She speaks English, French and Arabic.
She usually uploads several versions of one song to her channel. The stripped ones are the best in my opinion. "Tears of Gold (Stripped)" is fantastic. The dynamics of this songs are off the charts. I also recommend "Elon" (the last song after the credits of her online live concert at the Burton Cummings Theatre: ua-cam.com/video/vnCi_QV2J48/v-deo.html ) and her duet with John Legend.
As another mind blowing new singer for your channel I recommend the South Korean vocal queen Sohyang (So Hyang). I would start with her cover of "Bridge over troubled water": ua-cam.com/video/C6iHh4yBxCo/v-deo.html You won't regret it. 🙂

She took you on a journey didn’t she? Welcome to the rabbit hole of Faouzia (you have the right pronunciation of her name as ‘Fo-zia’). She writes her own songs, plays piano, violin and guitar, oh, and studies engineering at university as she is only 22! Check out her stripped versions of Tears of Gold, This Mountain, Elon, Born Without a Heart, any song really. She is Moroccan but raised in Canada so her sounds has some Arabic influences like the fast vibrato and the different colours within notes. She signed with Atlantic Records and her first album, CITIZENS was released earlier this year, you should check that out too! Lots of great musical options to react to, and I can’t wait for your reactions!

Faouzia is excellent. Shameless Daneliya Tuleshova plug. She covered Faouzia’s song Tears of Gold for AGT, and later covered the song on her UA-cam channel. Faouzia commented. Been a while since Daneliya has been on the channel. I recommend you watch that, but also watch Faouzia’s stripped version of Tears Of Gold, it’s excellent as well. The way that Faouzia has learned to sing is rather unique. Daneliya did a tremendous job covering an outstanding rendition of the song.

Pity that she sacrifies her voice, and a great part of her talent to the taste of the day...Too much belting..Lacks simplicity in the way she delivers...Doing so true soul vanish away, rest a performance, a bit short to become a great singer. I am quite sure that if she didn't wish too please as many people as possible, she could be a really wonderful singer.

I don’t see her as sacrificing talent here, but simply showing particular sides of her talents in one song. I’m sure with other songs she is able to capture the subtleties and nuances which you refer to. However, we are all entitled to our opinions in what we hear with music and performance and that’s what makes for interesting discourse

According to a vocal coach, Faouzia's performance here was a little-known vocal technique that totally isolated the chest register.
That's why we heard a heavier, rawer, louder sound from the bottom of her chest. When totally isolated, the range would be extremely limited (but she still can up to D5) because there is no coordination with the stretcher muscle, so there would be no stretching or thinning of the vocal cords to meet the pitch requirements.
I think her Arabic chest falsetto is the highlight of the song.

@@bclang1859 The bottom line is this, for me anyway. Technic is a tool no more. What do the greats in any disciplines , they make you forget the technic. So when listening to some singer you end only with the technic in mind, you totally miss the point.

@@jean-claudeledanois1247 I'm no expert. I simply resent your self-righteousness and arrogance as if you were an expert. I'm telling you that you are wrong. All the singing teachers who have reacted to Faouzia recognized that the way she sings is very, very healthy. Faouzia has never received any singing training. She grew up learning to sing on her own by listening to Western and Arabic music. She never cared whatever technique was. she doesn't even know if she is an alto or a soprano. However, she just sang what she could in a reasonably healthy, never "sacrificing her voice or "whatever you proclaimed.
It is absurd that you criticized Faouzia because you know nothing.
You are not required to like Faouzia's songs, and no one forces you to. Nobody cares what's your lines. That's it

Because I say that she could a super nice singer if only she could avoid all those showing off, and uses of studio tricks. Be a fan if you wish and I will Keep my freedom to criticise.
