Can you build a compact space fighter that hides within a larger (disguise) class of ship. A psuedo hull it can discard when too damaged. I've made something similar. But, its more like a small armed up ship, holding two jerry rigged armored clamshells over itself. It'll eat 1 or 2 more rockets per half, before you've gotta discard the shell.

Me and some buddies have been making missiles and I currently have one that has bomb bays running on it so everything below its path gets bombarded
