Is Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince Demo WORTH PLAYING?

- Out of nowhere, unless you live in Japan and watched the Japanese Nintendo Direct, a demo for Dragon Quest Monsters the Dark Prince just pop up. So of course I'm going to give you guys my thoughts on the demo and whether or not you should give it a try.
Yes it is definitely worth playing! Let's buy and support Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince and Dragon Quest Dai!
I will definitely buy DQM but not Dai as the Dai anime left a bad taste in my mouth by how bad its story is.
Why you lying to these people? bruh.... You like so many streamers, you all completely skip and break down the monster arena ranks.which for one you cannot issue orders in the fight which is ass in itself. Plus rank F is a huge fricken wall cause the last competitor in the rank F has a behemoth of a creature which can attack u multiple times. I noticed a lot of u streamers skimming right over that! I got one question for u homie. How much are they paying u to do that? Hmm how much? Lol
@@louiecolon4234had no problem with any of the tournaments at all. Sound like you need to synthesize better monsters, allocate skill points, and adjust your tactics. Not being able to give orders during tournaments has been around since Joker1 and honestly is great cause if not it’d be too easy to cheese. I suggest paying attention to the tutorial of the game next time
I love how quick the battles are feels like bringing is awesome. I hope a lot of people know about this game. Thank you for the video love hearing about the game

I really hope the Stormsgate Citadel makes an appearance in this game. I remember how clutch it was when I barely ranked top 100 in the tournament in Joker to get it as a prize. Loved that monster, even if it wasnt the strongest.
I’m most excited for tournament mode! My favorite part of DQ8 after playing all the post-game.
It’s definitely (gameplay wise) gonna be better than Infinity Strash. More of an RPG rather than an Arena Fighter.
Hope we get some kind of re-release of dq4 since this game seems pretty tied together with it
If theres one thing I dislike about this demo, wild monsters are easy enough that, unless you're trying to scout a monster, you don't need to use manual commands. Not a problem at first, but during Collesium fights, you CAN'T take manual control... during the fights that are hard enough you probably would want to take manual control... it feels weird.
This is like pokemon but on Dragon Quest. cool game.
Is the arena always Auto Battle?
You can toggle auto battle anytime.
low fps with these horrible graphics is baffling. nintendo ds dq monsters ran better than switch 🤣

yes it does
My only hope is that they don't have monsters locked behind communication features like DQMJ. There are monsters that will never be obtained for anyone who picks up a copy of DQMJ cause one can only win them from online tournaments and cannot be made through synthesis.
this is exactly what I thought and what I was worried about, considering that even in the latest Pokémon games everything seems to be concentrated on online features, and moreover I saw that there are in-game purchases, so I'll see if it's worth it after a few months of release
Hi ! Just a little question, did you happen to experience frame drops ? Especially in open areas, if so, do you think that until the official release they could fix this problem? Nice video man
Yeah I did experience some frame drops here and there and I’m not sure if they’ll be fixed but hope for the best

I'm really a super fan of Dragon Quest, especially of the Monsters series, I don't even count the hours I spent on the various Monster Joker 1,2,3 and on Terry's Wonderland (also the 3d). My enthusiasm is sky high, I'm just afraid that these frame drops could compromise the gaming experience (although I don't think so).
@@ThatsRoyostill hoping the pokemon fps got fixed. it won't happen xD. and that's crazy espcially with how blocky and plain the graphics in this game are.

Slow start? It was a breakneck speed start for me, I was out in the field playing the main game loop in a few minutes
It is I just don't really like the MONSTERS games but at the same time most of those Monsters games never actually left Japan but this one WILL get a English version.
need this on PC please. that framerate and low quality textures on switch just doesn't look good at all
I did catch a large monster in the demo it was a bubble slime (the game did say you can find large versions of the little monsters)

@@ThatsRoyo I did try to catch the Gigantes (they called it cyclops in the demo not sure why) and yeah you can't tame them yet, which, let's be honest, is fair cause having a very powerful monster in the beginning of the demo would be kinda broken.
@@guilhermefinamori-xy8xn Gigantes is Gigantes and Cyclops is Cyclops. They also look a little bit different and there will most likely be a Gigantes in the game (Rank A). But the Cyclops always was Rank E, even in Joker 3.
@@DranikDQ I am going to 110% honest with you, when I first saw it being called cyclops I went to check the gigantes art and they both look identical... Scratch that I just saw that gigante has a blue fur suit and blue eye... recolored monsters can be such a pain sometimes.😭

Looks VERY similar to the 3ds monster games. To be fair they kinda perfected the gameplay loop already, I fished Terry's wonderland in 3 days 💀

Personally I'm getting tired of hearing the same recycled midi DQ music in every game. DQ Treasures was the same thing. Does the dark prince have any new compositions?

Glad we basically get the dq4 OST vs the same DQ Monsters battle theme again. Framerate is rough in the demo though. I hope it improves by launch.
Before the full game come out ,i now have Large size snowman and Large size Mech hunter at LV 50 😅 i think it worth playing
Curious to ask, How ya get Large monsters of the different species? (I know ya fused but curious cause i dont think i found combos like that in the Large variations)
I mainly found a Large, skeleton, bubbleslime, that eggplant monster, the funghouls, a Leery lout and a antguzzler
@@dragovian15 you have to have 2 set of Monster group
1.The L monster +L monster = The offspring L
2.The monster that you want it big
When you got L size offspring , you need to is go to the volcano map capture bongo drongo then go back to the breeding room try to check is it ok to breed by choosing preview the L size offspring you have to breed with bongo if the result come with the L size monster now it ok to start process(dont breed with L size offspring now) by breed it with your monster s size you want it big , breed them and then you breed the offspring with the offspring L size that you breed earlier if the preview result is not got L size offspring you want then you have to repeat step S size monster +bongo drongo again and then preview with L size offspring again (most of this process took me breed s size monster with bongo around 3 times when it ok to breed with L size offspring)
The tricky part you have to capture bongo with 46-47 atk

I see, I kinda tried that and My Jargon did have L as a result, but I tried another monster but keeps looking so tiny and such, the Dessert Demon it always looks tiny, it was small looking when trying to fuse with the Bongo and I did it over 10 times to try getting it to work ^^;
Maybe I need to fuse the dessert demon with a Large monster(not the fused one) to see about getting a bigger size?

Is the demo as long as the DQXI demo? How many regions and tournaments before the demo ends, and how many unique monsters can you capture?
Might be just as long as Xi just based on how long it took me to beat it. There are 3 regions and there are 2 tournaments. Regarding monsters I don’t know

Two full worlds, half of a third, EVERY monster G and F are obtainable. Two sets of tournaments from G rank to F rank. There's quite a lot of content in the demo
Also every monster u get can be transfered to main game lvl 1 though
I tried to like this but I just couldn't I think the graphics and art style just gives me a headache
