È vero. L'arpa è lo strumento citato nell'A.T. per lodare Dio e che con le sfumature sonore di Andreas sembra come abbracciarti dolcemente. Grazie di ❤

back in 87 this used to help me get through my cleaning route at the middle school where I was a night custodian. I remember going in the gym and it was me who was swept away blissfully dancing with the dust mop.

Then, you also heard and recognized it from the time of the at least the last 6.5 weeks of pregnancy, when unborn children begin to hear the sounds and noises produced by their mother's body and also outside of it. A research experiment had expectant mothers reading "The Cat in the Hat", and after they were born, they had the mothers read the children "The Cat in the Hat" and other books. The babies responded far more to "Cat in the Hat" than to the other stories. They also had other mothers read the Cat in the Hat to the babies and the babies responded more to their own mothers' voices reading it to them. (Heartrate, more sucking during breastfeeding or bottlefeeding, and I think something with the blood pressure - the parasympathetic nervous system.) So, you were imprinted to love this music even from your time in utero!

This for me was back in 1987. I'd just started a career in the Department of Conservation (NZ), and I became hooked, buying all the vinyls I could get my hands on. Magical stuff! Speaking of which, two New Age friends of mine (Pom and Swiss) were rather authority figures on the man (who is also Swiss, I believe). Previous to this, my best mate at the time had his music on his sound system (very high tech for the time) and I wondered about this amazing music and harp. I'd never heard anything like it or since so I was very grateful to be able to get my hands on it in later years.
This music became my go-to mantra in my head for years and even saw me through the break up with the true love of my life. It was intensely painful and even caused what I now consider to be a nervous breakdown, but Andreas Vollenweider's music saw me through it. In later years when Dancing With the Lion came out, my neighbour, who was to become my step daughter, would have it on high rotate and she would dance to it, much to her mother's amusement.
There is a very pretty, short piece from the same album called 'Garden of My Childhood'. It is semi-baroque in style with some interest bridge passages, showing the prowess of the man. Have a listen.

I saw Andreas on the Tonight show starting Johnny Carson. I worked in a video music store at the time. I bought Down to the moon on CD. I didn't have a CD player so we listened to it in the store. Now thirty some odd years later the man still brings me to my knees. A co-worker got his autograph for me in 85 when he played in Denver. I cherish it. I am trying to get my grandkids into this, their dad was raised on Andreas it's only fair☺

2005-2006 routine was to go over friend's house in Orlando, get EXTREMELY stoned and play a vinyl he found at the antique/thrift shop. We called the ritual "visiting Tiki Island" for some reason. This album's week came up and we were completely floored. Had no idea what we just discovered. This album still reminds me of those times. Kraftwerk's "Electric Cafe", Bowie's "Station to Station", Music from Malboro Country and Infected Mushroom's "I'm the Supervisor" were among the frequent visitors to Tiki Island. Vollenweider's White Winds though was our most esteemed guest, after it's first visit.

I got into Micheal Hedges a little later on...

And best AV moment was at a smallish venue in Scottsdale Az. AV and the rest of the band charged into the audience and just sort of wooed everyone for a good, long while. Yes, he ran into the audience huffing around his harp and it was absolutely AMAZING!

Blessed to have seen him perform this live, in Milwaukee... like an angel up there on stage... and we were mesmerized, and in tears of joy...

ASA. That was definitely a "blast from the past". My first wife and I listened to Andreas Vollenweider starting in 1984-85. Vollenweider was "new age" before there was a new age designation.

La prima volta che l'ho ascoltato ero in Messico, nel mar dei Caraibi, Parlo di circa 25 anni fa... è stata un'emozione pazzesca ed è rimasto uno dei miei brani preferiti. Grande Andreas!!

Bought this on vinyl back around 98. I was awestruck. Became the soundtrack to my life. I was 22 and living out of state going to tech school at Spartan in Tulsa. Frequenting peace of mind books multiple times a week....it was the soundtrack to my life for approx. 3 years straight. Such a magical time.

Haven't listened to this since mid-'80s-bought the album after skipping work to see him in Knoxville, Tn. His music has helped me to a peaceful place more times than I can count. Wonderful to hear again.

I own this LP and I treasure it! I'm a young guy in college too, so he's way out of my era. I love his music though, already have three of his vinyl albums.

Andreas Vollenweider's music has been for me in these 26 years have known, an incredible alternative for tranquility and reflection. It is inspiring, full of sounds and chords on a harp, really I love it. A big hug.

El Maestro Andreas es un musico y compositor excelente. Lo escuché por primera vez a fines de los ochentas y especialmente tres de sus discos son mis favoritos. White winds, Down to the moon y Dancing with the lion. Los escuchaba junto con mi esposa, que estaba embarazada de nuestro primer bebe, Andrea, y cuando mi hija los escucho cuando tenia aproximadamente cuatro años, me comento que esa música ya la había escuchado y le gustaba mucho.

I was introduced to Andreas Vollenweider's music back in 1983 by a friend. I have all of his early albums, alas no stereo. Just came across this site. Thanks so much. This was my all time favorite album.
