I have been doing further maths for a few weeks now, and I think if you are in year 10 or 11 and thinking about taking further maths, you should definitely consider doing further maths gcse if your school offers it, or self study some of the content. As the topics you are most likely to start with (complex numbers and matrices) rely on a few concepts that wont be covered at gcse such as coordinate geometry. The matrices topic in gcse fm is good preparation for the a level topic, which tbh dosent get much harder until year 13. So just make sure you have some understanding of the topics you won't have covered yet in normal maths that you will need for further maths topics.
Honestly not needed. If you are taking further maths you should already be decent at maths and the concepts covered in gcse fm weren’t very helpful for me. The only thing I found helpful was simple integration and differentiation.
This has given me so much hope I'm doin g Math, Futher maths, physics and a level 3 in engineering due to me technically only doing 3 A-Levels makes its difficult for me as I'm not the most gifted and my complex number exam i had just done was but thanks for the advice bro.
Soooo much useful in this for me. My current foolhardy plan is to kick one of these (aqa, mechanics and discrete) through in 9months. Just starting (at pace) so these insights, links, and hints for how to “just go it!” are much valued exactly now. Cheers my dude 🙂.
Hello ray great content, I have a quick question would you make your flashcards for chemistry/physics after each lesson or at the end when you finish covering a topic because if you did it at the end of the lesson wouldn’t you have ticked off everything on your to do list?
Ah so on days when I actually finished a topic or completed a substantial part of it then I would add it onto my to-do list and tick it off later but on most days it wouldn’t be on my to-do list. Super sorry for the late reply too! It’s been a little hectic with the start of term.
@@RAmjad can you plz advice me regarding further maths statistics it literally makes no sense I perform really well in pure however I am struggling in mechanic's it just dosent make sense.
im taking further maths but with the most annoying options: further mech and further pure, i just really want to know in simplest terms how to not get overwhelmed and just how to go through everything to ensure an a star. i cannot get any less than an a. thanks
I think that I just watched a bun of MrBruff’s videos and came up with an exam strategy but other than that, I’m clueless as to what advice to offer for English Language unfortunately :((
Ah so for work experience, I’m not too sure as I didn’t do any at that age but for summer schools, I applied to the Eton College Summer School (and applied for full remittance to which I got), UNIQ, Sutton Trust (at Cambridge specifically), UCL Year 12 Summer school and Imperial Year 11 STEM Summer School. I managed to attend all but the UNIQ summer school

When I was 14 I was doing further maths and I can really agree with the exiting realisation about the complex maths
