Turn left at the hairpin turn, ok!
and not a single shot of what the wearer is supposed to see
I was hoping CES2021 would bring us a newer version. These still look bulky. If I could just get the capability of the Garmin 245 into a pair of glasses I would be very happy. The ability to see my average pace on the lens would be great to help with keeping pace.
Personally I do not want to carry a cell phone with me. I also hope you can produce a pair where the battery can be replaced, oh and wireless charging would be a big help especially as it would remove issues with power connection failures.
Can you use prescriptions
Interesting
would love to test them
This is basically google glass with a tinted lens
why are they "smart" when they require a cell phone to operate?
so clearly instead of buying expensive glasses that dont work ( as you clearly photoshopped the view in adobe premiere or whatever you use to make the video) you just get cycling computer.. which is like 5$ and smartwatch which is like 50$ and you sorted you do not need glasses and mobile phone ..
I’m not sure that these Smart Glasses will help the wearer stay present, if they’re taking calls, checking email, social media etc. Plus having some computerised voice feeding stats to them. That’s not my idea of staying ‘present’. If people meditated a few times a week, that’d help them ‘stay in the moment’ much more effectively than relying on technology to do the mental work for them and create some sort of artificial ‘connection’. Staying present requires benficial changes to happen in the brain. Effort is required for neurons to link up. In my opinion, little personal effort = diminished results. Besides, we all know how ‘distracting’ smart devices can actually be, as they pull our attention to keeping them charged, connected to cellular or smart phone devices, updating their software, and fiddling with them when they eventually go on the fritz... . Don’t get me wrong. I love my tech. I’m no ludite! But there’s a time and a place for technology, and it’s important to get the balance right.
you know most people have cycling computers now right?
and gps, and in some cases phones
but these are meant to reduce the likelihood of something going wrong since data is fed to you in a much safer manner that doesn't require you to break concentration and pacing to look down to see how your stats are doing
seriously...all these do is replace a handlebar setup (that most riders have anymore) with a face one, which results in less chances of you running into or getting hit by someone
when it comes to competition or just trying to maximize performance the data isn't an optional thing to have, it's considered an extremely important piece of equipment
but as for the "hearing" thing...how is it any different than something like a tom tom?
My point is about maintaining focussed attention and not being distracted by technology. Take away ‘smart glasses’ = more attention to what’s actually happening in the moment. It’s the same reason why Police will fine motorists for texting or using a smart device whilst driving: it distracts the driver. How is this different to a cyclist? It’s not. Buyer Beware is all I’m saying...
about 12 mph and 230+ lbs in a school zone.
what's the difference between me smacking you and launching a concrete brick at your face?
genuine question, because the difference is 12+ mph (top speed one can go on a bike for most, and school zone speeds)
and 230 (motorcycle) to about 1,790ish lbs (fortwo)
with a "heavy" bike being only about 20 lbs (unless it has some additions to it that make it heavier...even then it tops out at around 50)
smart devices aren't banned, infact alot of places are advocating the use of smart glasses to help mitigate the harm done by distracted drivers and driver fatigue
the reason shit like texting isn't allowed is because texting inherently requires you to look down and concentrate...in a device that will be going 25+ mph at 12 mph due to sheer weight they become extremely dangerous and a crash can require serious surgery
with a mere 5mph increase (barely pushing the gas more) increasing the odds of killing someone you hit from 10% to 50% (from 25-30)
an 18 lb vehicle going at BEST 18 mph is going slow enough to be safe, has a low footprint and you know...won't kill someone if you do happen to hit them, it'll hurt
and due to speed and the small size of the vehicle (and that you're likely to slow down abit while looking) you CAN get away with it
more importantly your eyes never leave the road, yes there are things to the side that you'll glace at but that's no different from saying road signs are potentially dangerous because you look over at them instead of keeping track of the road
" Its all about connection "
Ppl in ohaio 😑
$500? No thanks. Durability and long term reliability are my concerns like if dropped on accident, or cold rainy weather scenarios.

so you measure power in watts.. clearly chineese product.. you do not measure power of a cyclist in wats...you probably want o see calories burned..but that is nt accurate anyway, I tihnk speed and heart rate are important and distance left....
In cycling you definitely track watts
