- I've been teaching myself how to do a lot of things on this crazy cabin build, but this was the most intimidating thing of the entire house build...

Love the red doors. In America a red front door holds the historical significance of meaning people are welcome at the homes that host a painted door. Travellers were welcome to rest and have a meal, and during the Civil War in the Underground Railroad, runaway slaves would also see a red door as a sign of a safe house.
Yup!
Awsome! Getting an education, always welcome
I always heard that the red door signifies the blood of christ. It was a sign the the home is inhabited by Christians.
I didn't know that. Ty
All made up but thanks..
I fully sympathize.
My husband put a new metal roof on last year.
I was the OPP of the entire operation.
(Official Plastic Peeler)
I haven’t been the same since 😂
If I wasn't 3k miles away I'd come help bro. Damn
When you bring a vertical piece of J channel up to join a horizontal piece of J channel, the pros will leave about a 2" tail on the horizontal piece and bend it down over the vertical piece. The idea is so it can shed water that collects in the top channel down the side of the vertical piece.
It looks like a really nice place and a lot of room too.
I enjoy the construction video as mach as the truckhouse footage. The house is really looking good. Carry on my friend.
Thanks man!
Just subscribed a few days ago Timmy and have been binge watching your vids like a mad man! Like 2 years worth... Haha
Those atlas gloves are a lifesaver though. You’ve got a great eye for building. I’m a trim carpenter by trade. Impressed by your craftsmanship and your ideas man. You a BAMF. 🔥🔥
Enjoyed, Glad Dustin coming to help,
I don’t know if help is the right word to use here.
And getting paid too
Ok … my outside world is stopping…. Just want to focus watching this video….geeez…you make everything look so easy to do! I have my pen and paper taking notes… 😁
Like the kick plates. I'm a lever guy so the door can be opened more easily with full hands. The house is looking awesome Timmy!
Your attention to details is what is going to make this build top quality! You work, I watch!
I know you said you felt bad you were'nt making more truck videos; however, I have really enjoyed watching you build your cabin. God Speed.
Thanks 👍
Love your work bro - all the way from Melton Mowbray UK. Home of the Pork Pie!
Got Christmas Story vibes watching the crates being pried open. It’s a major award!
Fragile 😂
I say this ya call the cabin a cabin but to me it’s a mansion my friend a mansion an you deserve it an more from what I have seen on all ya videos , just great quality videos with beautiful scenery an content an it’s never boring atall , I recwatch an they still entertain , thanks Timmy for being a true friend to all you know in Alaska an Georgia the Carolinas an all of the world man that see ya channel , keep on keeping on !!!
And NOW, since you used the statement of having both arms full of groceries to kick to OPEN, you need to install kick plates on the INSIDE of doors to kick to CLOSE them.
I like the Red door. Ours is Cranberry
I love how Timmy finds all these obscure small businesses around America. One thing i will be buying eventually is that Kimberly wood stove in the truck house; and i had never heard of Blaze King so now I gotta research it lol
Really like how you used the pickup box off of your truck to make a matching trailer. Thought I was the only one who did that 🤙🏻
It’s the little details that really make a house a home.
Those kick plates are great. I’m more of a Stainless guy, but the Copper is really nice looking.
Nice house
You are killing it man great job! Found your channel a while back and loved it ever since. Keep on going!
Perfect gift for my birthday! Been a fan for a while (evidence is my full send Alaskan overland hat haha). Really enjoyed the last three videos of your journey to deadhorse, and your billy strings cover in the video before those. Keep it up Tim, loving the content, and happy new year!
The copper corners and kick plates really set off the whole entire build. It is going to be a work of art not just a house!
lol I didn’t even know they made special ones like that but yeah they’re beautiful and this house is absolutely gorgeous! His attention to detail is just incredible for sure.
I found your channel this week, as a guy who used to drive long haul, and built his own cabin in the middle of the woods. I enjoy seeing other people that also adventure and build things.
You look to be about the same age as me, and capable men are rare and getting more rare.
Good work my man, I like watching your videos.
Loving the vids although I wish you would release them in order. It’s weird watching a blizzard video but the wood stove chimney is installed that was featured weeks later. Then the camper that got crushed is alive and well in this video 😂
Thanks for the shout out Timmy!
We love watching the progress and are super proud to be a part of it!
Keep up the good work, much love!
You're doing wonderful & awesome info about the metal cutters (I had no idea) & I love that you show the tape measure falling & doing the metal stuff as 1 man. Showing you working through the show like some "homesteaders would never".. I won't name drop but it feels great following this project that you will finish!!!
You should put a sealer on the kick plate screw holes to keep water out.
I live in NY and we're getting ready for our first major snowfall of the season. Keep on trucking!
Been following dude for the longest time now so happy it’s almost done man
It’s a shame my old YT account got deleted once I hit my 1000 subs after 16 years had the account since I was 11 in 2007 lol now I’m stuck using my back up and all my memories as a kid an teen are gone I uploaded tons of videos an channels like your inspired me to start uploading again an I was one of the channels banned for no reason an no possible appeal allowed back when they were silencing everyone
Metal blade on the myter saw cuts that stuff like butter. You can mount the saw on the boom and fly at her. Looks great.
Your house is gorgeous, and you are so amazing doing all that planning and work. Thank you for sharing your journey with us all. Stay safe..
The thought of help always seems warm and bright until youre reminded of the stresses that come with that as well 🤟🖤 keep on keepin on
Man imagine if you could just snap to get your whole house done. The world would be a crazy place
It is fascinating watching you build this place. Wish videos like this had been available back in the 70s. I would have just bought land and built my own home much like you are doing using all the construction knowledge I've gained.
Love the RED DOOR and the awesome kick plate. Adds so much to the decor
Sure would be nice to be young again with all that Timmy energy.
Dude, that’s a sweet looking place bro!
Love a red door, it symbolizes all are welcome.
I'm impressed, you are the first american i have seen that is actually using the correct shears instead of tin snips :D
I freaking LOVE THE RED DOOR!!!!!!
I’m so happy I found your channel. I love watching people build things. When I was younger I use to build wooden things. Refinished items. I sure miss that. But watching you do this is beautiful. Congratulations on such an awesome job. You have a great vision
I changed my regular door knobs for the flapper/lever style. Makes it alot easier to open when your hands are full. Looking good!
Such a wonderful experience. I have always wished to have a life of this exciting experience. Thank you for the great video
Omg, I love copper! Outstanding choice of materials. 💞
The copper work is bomb! Watch out Mr. Tim, they will be putting pictures of your home in Better Homes & Gardens!!
Beautiful home you and friends have built!❤
Dude your attitude is friggin amazing.
Aw, I would pull all the plastic off for you if I was there. I miss helping my dad with such things. It's looking great, Timmy! Okay, I am sure it wasn't fun cleaning it up but I did have a giggle at the siding slide. Just a little giggle though. Hehe happy trails!
Your house build is amazing! I just love your videos. I've never seen anyone tackle a job this huge. House is going to be beautiful once it's done.
I do hope that the siding vendor advised you as to how much the siding shrinks with cold and expands with heat..
I found out the hard way when my contractor trimmed out & sided my barn & RV shed in the fall..
Interesting home! Thank you for the video.
Green red and yellow all indicate angle. Love the progress brother. As a man with 3 pairs of yellow snips 😂
That is gonna be so cool! Thanks Timmy!
Can't wait to see your house when it's all complete.
Such a blessed soul touching so many people
If you have not already mapped your in-wall electrical conductors (wiring), you may want to chalk line prior to applying screws to panels. In one of my builds, we had a screw penetrate/compromise a positive electrical conductor. As a result the screw became an in-wall heating element, shorting the panel to the positive conductor, causing an in-wall fire.
Just a suggestion, in the event your screws are long enough to penetrate the in-wall electrical conductors space. It's good to know where those wires are run, chalk lines to implement sound disaster avoidance planning. Love the build so far, very nice work!
Wiss is the best aviators in tha world man , I use them every day at work to cut aluminum sheeting an stain steel sheeting or jacketing coverings to be rolled an installed over pipe insulation we install a lot of an they cut pvc or cilco plastic white red yellow blue an orange as well , love that tool oh my lord yes that plastic protective covering is a pain , I use heat dyers like a hair drier but battery powered , they work ok but hair dryer if u get power to it will do the trick man , I use it on our embossed sheet metal that’s covered in that tuff pressed on plastic , gosh forbid if it’s been hemmed, it sucks , I feel ya man
Finally got to the end. Good deal on scoring some hired help. It’s awesome to watch you build. And even when you struggle. It shows us that you are authentic man. You are the coolest dude I’ve ever watched. Bro. Seriously though. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. It’s better to get help than to injure yourself. And from what I’ve gathered you’re already recovered from physical injuries. Sorry. Don’t mean to preach. Good work man!
Loving the cabin build. Looks beautiful ❤
Can’t wait until you get the cable railing up that edge gives me the butterflies lol
Good job on cabin man. When you j trim the windows you shoulda cut them 3 inches longer and then cut the face of the k trim back to length so the in the corners the back part of the j trim over laps. It’s more work but a little better protection so the water can’t get through. I like your corner ideas tho good job
Another great video, Timmy! Love that you explained the metal cutters, the j- channels., how things fit,.....you are a teacher...and not just at driving school! The house looks fab...those copper accents rock! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Just watching what your about! Amazing guy for sure! Makes me cold to watch but really enjoyed your adventure! Lots of luck for securing a lovely home and your future in these very cold surroundings!
Yes man love the door guards , coppers beautiful man , an I do the same man , I push bout every door I have with one of my feet , an yea man if I lived near ya I help in a min but I’m way off ova here in Upstate S.C might take a while to get there , all this cold 35* temps an just missed the snow we did have sleet bout 2 am but that’s it , but shoot fire I’d be right there helping ya if possible , I’m a construction working man so I got ya if I could , but man cabin looks awesome , great work an videos from ya always Timmy , take care an thanks for a good vid today
Another great video. What is the update on the surviving parakeet? I have parakeets as well and I urge you to get another friend for the surviving bird; maybe you can adopt one. The surviving bird will be depressed and sad. When left alone, parakeets get lonely and depressed and can get runny poops, which can be life-threatening.
Can’t believe how fast all that snow melted.
I was today years old when I learnt about left n right-handed tin snips! Lol
That is a really beautiful design and the attention to detail is the reason why you do this stuff yourself. I am super impressed!
...and who could imagine that metal siding could look cool! The balance between the metal and the wood is so amazing.
Your home looks beautiful
I love how not a single neighbor comes over to give you a hand. Neighbors are the same up there as down here in TX.
Since you’re already using a air compressor, try pulling one side and putting a nozzle on it and giving it some air underneath it. Maybe it will give you a nice pop down the corner bead.
That’s a massive amount of work dude! Impressive! 😮
Props for your persistence and perseverance. Keep at it. Thank you for sharing.
The house is going be a looker when it's done.
It’s going to be BEAUTIFUL!!!
Timmy you are very talented building your own home and when I watched The Burning Man video you can also play guitar and sing. Well done!
Gonna be beautiful when it's finished
Hulu are doing a great job! It’s looking wonderful!
Respect! You are one rugged dude.
Congratulations on your new home! Love the red door! 👍
also for cutting circles , right for right , left for left ,I look at these as Sheetmetal snips , HVAC , but will cut up to 26 gauge ,.of any thin metal . great job on your house , just take each project one at a time , try not to get overwhelmed by the size of the project .I designed and welded my 40 ft aluminum boat completely by my self ,it took about a 1.5 yrs ,I live in it in Ketchikan ,its still not done with finish work. But its paid for and I dont get taxed on it every year .Your vids are great , thank you
The best thing is…you know what doing!
Looking Great Timmy! A Fantastic Accomplishment !
For the life of me, I never understood why anyone would build a flat roof in an area prone to large snowfalls haha Such a gorgeous cabin, though Tim. New to the channel but definitely been binging for the last couple weeks. Makes me miss AK.
Well when you’re done with your house, we’ve got a house here in the lower 48 in north central Washington state, up in the mountains
Those corner reveals look fantastic!
Timmy, amazing job man ! the determination and passion you’re putting into this project is mind blowing. Kudos to you man ❤
What a big project. your common sense approach, and diligent get r done attitude to the various tasks and hurdles is commendable. 👍👍🍁🤙
thats a great look i can picture what your going for and im only a minute or so into the video, awesome!!!
Love the color choices! Going to look sharp!!
you are living the dream man. i love to see it
Nice work.... and transport... w/ house on the back!
I would recommend that u caulk the edge of the c channel on the bronze corners so no water gets behind
Lovin' all the copper! 😍
Any time you make changes to basic siding, Remember you have to add extra backing on the framing . . .
Looking good Timmy! Keep it up one bite at a time. Blessings
So now my summer will be spent helping a kiddo make a home on wheels! Not sure how much help he will be during seeding until harvest is completed. He sees that project as the beginning of something. Thank you 😊Your house is fantastic! A real work of art. You will look back on all the planning and work with great memories.
Love the copper trim!!!
Absolutely beautiful VIEW❤
Love the kick plate. Looks great.
