I remember my mind being blown when Cutter asked for Claudia Brown and Lester said, "I don't know anyone of that name."
This really makes me think the fact that, after this, from season 2 to season 5 we've just been following the story of an alternate research team and not the original one we've been introduced to in season 1, even after Cutter's death

My favourite parts of whole primeval
Oh my favourite season is the S3
So I have a theory about what caused claudia to be erased from the timeline so when nick and Capt Ryan and Helen went through the anomalie the future predator followed them trough and fought the gorgonopsid which caused claudia to be erased from the timeline because it was the gorgonopsid that brought the team together including claudia and since the gorgonopsid walked away after killing the future predator that means that nick would have never met claudia and the rest of the team. Because the gorgonopsid was the creature that brought them all together for the frist time.
An interesting theory. Certainly better than the one people seem to think in that the baby future predators left behind in the Permian era was the one that caused it. If the latter was the case, how do you explain Nick & Ryan discovering Ryan’s dead body before coming back? It’s almost like the whole future predator thing was destined to happen but your theory proposes that the Gorgonopsid was the point in which it brought the team together is a much stronger theory, assuming that is the same Gorgonopsid they encountered.
@@ulfberht4431 I doubt it be the same Gorgonopsid. For one thing, the events of episode 6 take place presumably weeks or years before Nicks first time travelling through the anomaly and finding Ryan’s corpse. It usually takes weeks or years for a human corpse to decompose to the point in which there’s nothing but the skeleton left.
In that time, the Gorgonopsid we saw in episode 6 could’ve died of old age, it’s injuries, or loss of territory. If it’s the last case, then it would most likely be the episode 1 Gorgonopsid that took over it’s territory.
Large apex predators don’t share their territory’s with other members if their species, and seeing how Primeval depicts this animal as being solitary, it stands to reason that it would behave this way. So if the episode 6 Gorgonopsid didn’t recover from his injuries and had to face a more healthier member of his own kind, I doubt he would’ve stood a chance.
This aggressive behaviour can be further supported by the fact it immediately attacked the Future Predator on sight, which in itself would 100% be a competitor in its role as the Apex predator of the region.

That is a good point. Maybe we can also assume that this specific Gorgonopsid from episode 6 is related to the one from episode 1. It’s a long and silly stretch I know but it’s fun to theorise if it makes sense
@@ulfberht4431 the two future predators left behind were the reason for the change. Suggesting that it is because they weren’t brought together doesn’t explain why Claudia becomes a whole different person (Jenny).
Cutter said the cause, he said the predators could cause catastrofic moment if he left in the Permian. Helen said the future predators arr a speciment so adatable in the spaces, the two childrens could be survive a few days or moments in the Permian, but in this time could be kill to many diferents animals and remove the time
Well two babies of the future predator survived in the permian era so they probably ended up changing the past and the evolutionary path the world took hence claudia was erased. It’s all still helens fault tho she brought the future predator back and as soon as she did that claudia’s fate was sealed cos if you remember she looked in the mirror saw herself like an anomaly.
Claudia would've 'survived' had she had gone with Nick into the permian era, as she'd then be immune to any timeline changes and it would've compensated around her like it did with Nick and Helen. Had Nick have stayed as Claudia requested, he just wouldn't remember her like everyone else.
That works a lot more than I would have thought, shows the Continuity team did what they needed to do to make it feel right.

Series 1 was amazing then went downhill big time after that
Correction: the series went downhill right after season 3 ended! The Nick Cutter arch was the best and despite him dying and being replaced with Danny, season 3 still had a climatic moment with Helen’s madness in wanting to destroy the human race and ending with her demise
Season 3 was where it went downhill. They killed off the main character in the third episode, right after Stephen sacrificed himself to save him. That’s obviously not what they planned and it made Cutter’s story feel kind of pointless.
@@SaberRexZealot they had no choice the actor told last second he wanted to leave they didn’t have a good contact with him he could when ever he wanted they had to rewrite series 3 several times after he decided to leave and episode 2 of series 3 is a third draft story it was never meant to see the light of day
